How would you feel if you received this email?

Is this (below) a nice email to receive? What would you think of the sender who wrote it??

‘I will reluctantly speak to you next Tuesday to attempt to address your discriminatory actions. As I mentioned last week, I, personally, do not consider you to be that important, and I would not be entertaining this call were your manager not also be participating.’

OP posts:
Tilltheendoftheline · 20/09/2019 17:54

@SteamedPotatoes she has already been fired

pikapikachu · 20/09/2019 17:55

Fired for the email or because of raising a complaint about someone whose actions you thought were discriminatory?

Next time tone down the email however bad the other person is. Electronic words are there forever so you need to keep it factual.

"‘I will speak to you and your manager next Tuesday to attempt to address your actions."

You might think that the other person is not being important etc but never say it electronically. When emailing you have to tone it down as much as possible even if he was the biggest 💩 imaginable.

TryingToBeBold · 20/09/2019 18:18

This is the most ridiculous fucking post I've read on here. And I've read a few.
Is this shitty email (that I know full well is shitty which is why I'm shitting myself going into a disciplinary meeting) 'rude'.
I'm not going to provide any details.
Any background.
And just confirmation that the OP did send it and has since been fired. (Probably for a multitude of reasons and not just the email).

Just the right amount of bait posts to keep everyone interested and frustrated at the same time.

HeronLanyon · 20/09/2019 18:20

I thought schools had gone back.

HeronLanyon · 20/09/2019 18:21

Oops wrong thread. Sorry all.

colourlessgreenidea · 20/09/2019 18:23

Even for less than 2 years employment I would have expected a disciplinary investigation first

There could well have been ten disciplinary hearings, but given the painfully vague fuckery of this thread, how would we know?

AnAC12UCOinanOCG · 20/09/2019 18:23

If you're this frustrating to deal with at work then I'm really not surprised.

IAmALazyArse · 20/09/2019 18:23

@HeronLanyon maybe it's a right thread...

RightYesButNo · 20/09/2019 18:24

OP this isn't Facebook.

Either give the full story or don't bother writing.

The attention seeking is painful.

^This with fucking bells on.

HeronLanyon · 20/09/2019 18:28

imalazy I think we, maybe, would get into trouble, if it had been the right thread, for that kind of comment, so, thankfully, I think it may have been the wrong one Wink.
Bloody hell - how many commas ! I should get into trouble for that alone.

Jux · 20/09/2019 18:34

You've been an idiot. What has your dh said? You have told him, haven't you?

LochJessMonster · 20/09/2019 18:36

To save you reading through - page 13 for the updates

Op I read it as they did something nasty to you, and you were asked to attend a disciplinary. You don’t want to (they are not important enough to waste your time making excuses) but will because the manager has asked.

It’s something you can think and perhaps even say but never put in writing. Sorry you’ve been obviously driven to this and I’m sorry you’ve lost your job.
Perhaps time to clear your head will help you see that obviously that environment wasn’t good for you.

FelicityBeedle · 20/09/2019 18:37

I agree it’s frustrwting when OP doesn’t give the full story but we aren’t owed anything. She’s clearly distressed and doesn’t want to tell us, and that’s fine. We don’t have a right to know someone else’s business just because they posted about jt

popehilarious · 20/09/2019 18:43

Just tell the bank you don't consider the mortgage to be that important.

LemonPrism · 20/09/2019 18:44

Of course it's not nice but it seems they may have been not nice to earn the email

LemonPrism · 20/09/2019 18:45

And yes it would be very upsetting to receive as it is hostile and belittling

Lvsel · 20/09/2019 18:51

Last few sentences dont make sense

Lvsel · 20/09/2019 18:56

OP you're literally saying blue sky green to us and expecting a reply.

Either tell the full story or dont. You're fired now so you might as well

100PercentThatBitch · 20/09/2019 19:00

I'm sorry for you OP but you should've known you'd be jeopardising your job with such a rude email?

Is your mental health quite alright?

Had you been drinking when you sent it?

Twinkles72 · 20/09/2019 19:04

It is confusing and very poorly written. It sounds like the person writing it is trying really hard to sound smart or something? It's awkward as f.

IAmALazyArse · 20/09/2019 19:08

It is confusing and very poorly written. It sounds like the person writing it is trying really hard to sound smart or something?

It's the last part of it, isn't it. I guess that's why someone asked whether English is OP's second language. It does happen sometime that I try to make grammatically proper sentence and ending up mixing all 11 tenses into it, so I get that😂
However, even if it were a fifth language it would be clear to anyone that it's rude.

Butchyrestingface · 20/09/2019 19:09

@KTheGrey

I think they sound horrid and you will be better off with a new job. Flowers

How can you possibly say that given the complete dearth of any information beyond the fact OP sent a spectacularly misjudged email?

ChiaraRimini · 20/09/2019 19:21

"I personally do not consider you to be that important".
How could you think that was OK to say to a colleague OP?

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 20/09/2019 19:21

I’ve re-read the email and it sounds like the OP
could be the bully here!

TidyDancer · 20/09/2019 19:22

I'm stunned you thought it was okay to send that email. It's really awful. I'm sorry you've been fired but it's was a horrible email.
