Is this (below) a nice email to receive? What would you think of the sender who wrote it??

‘I will reluctantly speak to you next Tuesday to attempt to address your discriminatory actions. As I mentioned last week, I, personally, do not consider you to be that important, and I would not be entertaining this call were your manager not also be participating.’

@Kitschbitch, was that intended for me? Confused

ChicCroissant · 20/09/2019 13:06

There is a link to the Talk Guidelines at the bottom of every webpage!

Yadid · 20/09/2019 13:15

What an irritating thread.

KitschBitch · 20/09/2019 14:44

Oops, apologies Butchyrestingface thought at first that I was getting a telling off from you too but having read your comment properly, like I should have done first time, I see that you are coming from the same place as me. Sorry again - only 4 hrs sleep in last 48hrs. I will shut up now.Blush

FluffyCloudsInTheSky · 20/09/2019 15:06

I hope OP returns

Pursefirst · 20/09/2019 15:22

Well, that was a waste of 13 pages...

meccacos2 · 20/09/2019 16:21

Translation:

I will speak with you next Tuesday even though I don’t want to. This conversation will be about what you have done wrong. I confirm you’re not important to me and I want you to know this. I’m only doing this to get you into trouble with your manager.

I am also bat shit crazy and an asshole.

SamCam349 · 20/09/2019 16:22

Update:

FIRED :(

OP posts:
ElizaDee · 20/09/2019 16:24

Not surprised

Blingysolightly · 20/09/2019 16:25

Oh dear.

You need to learn from this.

Peridot1 · 20/09/2019 16:25

Ouch. But not surprised.

WHY did you send it?

Lulualla · 20/09/2019 16:29

@SamCam349

Did you send the email because you were discriminated against? And they've fired you for sending the email?
That email isn't gross misconduct. It should be a warning. If you were discriminated against and now you've been fired, and you've been there longer than 2 years, then you may have an unfair dismissal case.

Or, did you receive the email because you discriminated against someone and now you've been fired for discriminating someone?

SamCam349 · 20/09/2019 16:30

What a miserable day. I spoke this morning about needing a deep glass of red. After the meeting I had, and the outcome, I feel I will need the whole bottle this evening...

OP posts:
BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 20/09/2019 16:30

Were you the sender or the recipient?

pumkinspicetime · 20/09/2019 16:30

OP if you sent the email I am not surprised.
But it doesn't sound like it was a positive working for you either.
Try and find a better fit and don't send emails in anger.

newmefor2020 · 20/09/2019 16:30

Wow! What kind of knob sends a message like that? Shock

colourlessgreenidea · 20/09/2019 16:31

Update:

FIRED sad

Well, given that none of us know what happened, who sent the email, who they sent it to, or who has been fired ... 🤷‍♀️

SamCam349 · 20/09/2019 16:31

I was the sender. :(

OP posts:
bluebeck · 20/09/2019 16:32

OP I am sorry you were fired.

Do you feel able to give us the whole context now? Maybe someone can help?

TeachesOfPeaches · 20/09/2019 16:32

Who did you send it to OP? It was very rude.

Blahblahblahnanana · 20/09/2019 16:32

@SamCam349 you need to provide more detail around why you sent it. You’re not going to get any support on here if you don’t...

QOD · 20/09/2019 16:33

🍷

And please explain the back story

SamCam349 · 20/09/2019 16:33

I sent it to work. I have been having such a shit time recently, and I broke.

OP posts:
JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 20/09/2019 16:33

Sorry it’s bad news for you but I was expecting that.

You really need to work on your written communication OP. Not just on that email but your posts here have been dire. Something for you to work on when applying for new jobs.

OtraCosaMariposa · 20/09/2019 16:34

That email isn't gross misconduct. It should be a warning

To be fair, @Lulualla, we have no idea of the context. OP was maybe already on a final warning. We have no idea what was said, or whether there was discrimination in the first place. OP has given zero detail and people are leaping to make assumptions.

OP can you really not see that your email was really hostile and inappropriate for work, whatever the circumstances?
