I’ve just made myself some salt and pepper on toast. First discovered as a poor student when literally all I had in the house was value white sliced bread, cheap margarine and salt and pepper. It’s very nice! I’m now 41 and I make it with nice bread and butter, Maldon salt and freshly ground pepper though Smile

Sometimes I like to eat a bit of stock cube too

Anyone else?

@joystir59 I dont think that's weird! I love cold tinned sweetcorn on salads.

chesterfuckingdraws · 18/09/2019 22:22

Oh I forgot my absolute favourite. Dried egg noodles straight from the packet, they're like crisps I could eat the whole lot. Have to be Sharwoods though

Heymummee · 18/09/2019 22:25

Heinz tomato soup with bread ripped up and left in it to go soggy.

Peas whilst still frozen.

Mouthful of chocolate followed by a ready salted crisp.

Coco pops with strawberry yoghurt.

AdaColeman · 18/09/2019 22:30

Plain chocolate digestive biscuit with blue cheese crumbled on.

Rollmops sliced up and stirred into Greek yoghurt.

WindsweptEgret · 18/09/2019 22:46

I don't think what I eat is odd but I've had comments.

Whole grapefruit as is, cut up into sixteenths and eaten like an orange.
Rocket out of the packet on it's own, same for pea shoots, I will eat the bag in a sitting. Mustard greens, rocket or spinach stirred into any one pot meal.

wattytanker · 18/09/2019 22:48

Tomato concentrate instead of ketchup. Every time

VioletDaisies · 18/09/2019 22:56

Packet sage and onion stuffing mix... After you've added the water but before you put it in the oven.

I don't even know how it came about.

Lozz22 · 18/09/2019 23:08

Pickled onions covered in peanut butter. In all fairness though I am Pregnant and that and anything spicy are my 2 biggest cravings

Keepthebloodynoisedown · 18/09/2019 23:12

Spag bol toastier is the ultimate hangover food- left over spag bol (with pasta) loads of cheese.

Keepthebloodynoisedown · 18/09/2019 23:12

That was supposed to say toasty

Thankfuckitsfriday1 · 19/09/2019 00:42

Raw mushrooms.. Yum!

Empathy56 · 19/09/2019 00:52

Empathy56 · 19/09/2019 00:54

Violet Daisies,I ate that once and it swelled in my stomach.I felt so sick!

easyandy101 · 19/09/2019 01:06

Raw turnips.

That too

TheSandman · 19/09/2019 01:21

Take one slice Toast and spread with with marmalade + another slice toast spread with Nutella. Place them sticky side to sticky side. Eat.

It's like eating a HUGE Jaffa Cake.

FannyBiggetywitch · 19/09/2019 02:08

Omg! I'm so gonna try thunder and lightening 😜
I like an iced finger dipped in baked beans sauce 😋

Graphista · 19/09/2019 03:05

Pickled garlic straight from the jar! Discovered while living in Europe (but even there it's really an ingredient for recipes) love it! But I have to watch I don't eat too much as it can have some...interesting effects!

Mash - instant mash I do a "lazy" snack sometimes which consists of making up some mash and adding baked beans and grated cheese into the bowl I made the mash up in and just mix n eat like that. Also mash n marmite, mash n pesto sauce. Mash n salad cream... Been ages since I had any though

"Ortolans" I had to look that up! I have to say as a veggie that's utterly disgusting not just odd, it's down there with foie gras!

"I like jam and cheese on crumpets. My DP looks at me like I have 2 heads" oooh that reminds me crumpets with butter and plastic cheese on!

"raw mushrooms" same, can quite happily sit with a punnet n just eat them - so many people hate mushrooms!

"Pesto on toast." Yep! Quick easy tasty

"Soup and Chips. Any bowl of soup can be improved by a portion of chips floating in it like croutons...." Standard option here in Scotland. Most "greasy spoons" around my way do soup and chips as a "special" given to customer separately but most either dip or float the chips in

RainbowMum11 · 19/09/2019 03:10

Crisp sandwich with salad cream - yum!

PatricksRum · 19/09/2019 04:46

Plain spaghetti with butter.

LoreleiRock · 19/09/2019 05:36

All you pickle juice drinkers, have you had picklebacks?

LoreleiRock · 19/09/2019 05:38

I like marmite and lettuce sandwiches, I thought everyone ate these in the 80s, but I am not so sure anymore. I also like radishes with salt and butter (very French)

echt · 19/09/2019 05:43

Kangaroo. Not as widely eaten in Australia as one might imagine. I casserole it.

Mmmmmm.....Skippy

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 19/09/2019 05:48

Bolognaise toasties.

Food of the gods.

Winterlife · 19/09/2019 05:58

Cottage cheese in toast. If I’m really wild, I’ll put carmelized onions on top.

HeronLanyon · 19/09/2019 06:01

I too have yoghurt with a lot of things - in soup, on almost every type of ‘stew’, in place of mayo etc heavenly stuff.
A plate of sliced tomatoes just with salt can easily be my dinner.
Peanut butter with gherkins or capers (not that odd but is here in uk I think)
Crisp sandwiches - yes!
Spaghetti with garlic butter and pepper.
Always happy to have breakfast foods at any time of day. Colleagues are sometimes startled when I have porridge for lunch - quite often.
Great thread - lots of good ideas !
