I’ve just made myself some salt and pepper on toast. First discovered as a poor student when literally all I had in the house was value white sliced bread, cheap margarine and salt and pepper. It’s very nice! I’m now 41 and I make it with nice bread and butter, Maldon salt and freshly ground pepper though Smile

Sometimes I like to eat a bit of stock cube too

Anyone else?

American food: cold Kraft dinner with ketchup and freshly ground black pepper, celery sticks with Cheez-Whiz and paprika

UK favourite: jacket potato, with baked beans, Worcestershire, sour cream and grated cheddar, also with lots of freshly ground black pepper

Winterlife · 19/09/2019 08:19

Kraft dinner and Cheez Whiz used to be awesome. Then, in the 1990's, they changed the formula and I can't stand them anymore. Sad

AnnaFiveTowns · 19/09/2019 08:38

I like olive oil on toast with loads of salt. It actually tastes like the beef and pork dripping that we used to have on toast when I was a kid - but it's a bit healthier!

shiveringtimber · 19/09/2019 08:40

@Winterlife They did?! Oh no! 😩

AdaColeman · 19/09/2019 13:42

Ewe's milk cheese with black cherry jam.

Cheese pastries with honey.

AdaColeman · 19/09/2019 13:46

Strawberries with black pepper syrup.

athenagoddessofwar · 19/09/2019 17:17

I like ketchup with macaroni cheese. Not all over it, because I'm not a monster, but a wee scoosh at the side. Bliss

Bouncer4me · 19/09/2019 17:21

I like popadoms dipped in salmon Philadelphia 😀

Lily2811 · 19/09/2019 17:21

When we were kids my dad always used to give us a frozen oven chip as a treat? As a kid it seemed like the best thing ever but now I'm older I think it's so weird Grin

bobsyourauntie · 19/09/2019 17:26

When I was a child I loved cheese and raspberry jam sandwiches. Can't stand them now.

I do love fishfingers with gravy and mint sauce though and so does my daughter now.

I also like tomato sauce sandwiches which my friend seems to think is weird.

SoreAndFedUpToday · 19/09/2019 17:29

These are soooo gross!!!! Envy

CallieCat19 · 19/09/2019 17:34

Chinese takeaway with mayonnaise

ilovecoffeemorethanmykids · 19/09/2019 17:35

If I buy a microwave paella I have to add cheese to it. I also eat boiled rice with banana slices added to it. Both weird, or at least my husband and children think so 😂

dowehaveastalker · 19/09/2019 17:35

Century egg.

SecretWitch · 19/09/2019 17:35

Cream of chicken soup, cream and rice..all cooked to get her to make a very thick stew. I eat this on very cold winter days

EllenMP · 19/09/2019 17:43

I too LOVE raw potatoes. Always have, always will. Cold and crunchy, with dash of salt if the shaker is handy. Don't know why everyone doesn't eat them that way.

I'm American and would like to share that English potatoes are even better raw than the American ones I grew up with. Tubers are a strength here. Smile

BackBoiler · 19/09/2019 17:45

Packet stuffing mix before it goes into the oven!

iklboo · 19/09/2019 17:46

Stuffing on buttered cream crackers with lots of salt.

Bozlem80 · 19/09/2019 17:46

Cold rice pudding
Stuffing mix with a little bit of butter (straight from the fridge) only eat in small quantities though
Cheese spread with mashed potato

ohwellherewegoagain · 19/09/2019 17:48

Oxo sop. Yes, you heard it right - an old family (possibly ww2 austerity?) recipe. Bread chunks, salt, pepper, knob of butter, oxo cube, boiling water. Leave for 5min and stir. Delicious 😋!!!

Ferretyone · 19/09/2019 17:54

Years ago when poor[er].

"Broke 1" = boiled potatoes with curry powder

"Broke 2" = boiled potatoes

DeNiroDeFaro · 19/09/2019 18:00

I like jam and cheese on crumpets. My DP looks at me like I have 2 heads

Me too!!

Also broccoli and salad cream. Discovered by accident but Yum.

Ham and cheese and onion crisp sandwich.

Toast dipped in hot chocolate

Sweet potato and chicken dipper/goujon wraps

championquartz · 19/09/2019 18:00

Raw turnip - yes
Raw cabbage heart - yes
Raw mushrooms - yes.
All of the above are yum. I thought everyone knows that!

But as for the rest of you weirdos people - what on earth is wrong with you? Some of the foods and combinations 🤢

Laylor · 19/09/2019 18:03

Ham, Jam and any flavour crisp sandwich. All these suggestions are making my mouth water so bad. Defo trying some

StormcloakNord · 19/09/2019 18:04

Super noodle sandwiches!

Cook noodles, 2 slices of well buttered bread, drop the hot noodles in one slice and squish it together then eat.

Pure heaven!!
