I’ve just made myself some salt and pepper on toast. First discovered as a poor student when literally all I had in the house was value white sliced bread, cheap margarine and salt and pepper. It’s very nice! I’m now 41 and I make it with nice bread and butter, Maldon salt and freshly ground pepper though Smile

Sometimes I like to eat a bit of stock cube too

Anyone else?

I see your chips with butter and raise you chips with butter and red onion. So good.

@1984isnow are you Greek? I lived with a Greek Cypriot once who ate yoghurt with every meal.

Templetonstunafish · 18/09/2019 12:51

Chips and gravy is normal no?

recklessruby · 18/09/2019 12:52

Wotsit sandwiches with cheap white bread (broke student days).
Raw cake mix oh god i know its got raw eggs but its gorgeous. I make a bowlful.
Like a grown up version of the mixture scrapings as a kid.

TheGlaikitRambler · 18/09/2019 12:52

Pate and crisp sandwiches

Zoidbergonthehalfshell · 18/09/2019 12:53

Chips and gravy is normal no?

I think so, but slathered with salt and vinegar, maybe not so much!

Katinski · 18/09/2019 12:54

emzeexb · 18/09/2019 12:55

@1984isnow wow so do I haha, in my culture cuisine we do have yoghurt with everything but I will put it on fried chicken the lot as well haha !

Coffeeandchocolate9 · 18/09/2019 12:56

I know of no sandwich which is not improved by the addition of sliced cold new potatoes :)

StillCoughingandLaughing · 18/09/2019 12:56

Not sure if it is odd, but don't know anyone else who does it. I put yogurt on almost every cooked meal, stews, roasts, fried chicken.

I tried that once and it was horrible. Mind you, I did wonder afterwards if maybe I wasn’t supposed to pour on that little pot of fruit compote on the side too.

MashedSpud · 18/09/2019 12:57

Crisp butties
Chip butties
Pea butties
Pie butties.

I haven’t in ages though due to dieting.

My mum eats strawberry butties and banana butties.

easyandy101 · 18/09/2019 12:57

Can someone please elaborate on raw potatoes??

Don't know the answers but try a vivaldi potato from sainsbury's. Would rather eat one of them than an apple Grin

cjt110 · 18/09/2019 12:58

Pasta with gravy, brown sauce and vinegar on.

Also ready salted crisps sprinkled with vinegar.

easyandy101 · 18/09/2019 12:59

see your chips with butter and raise you chips with butter and red onion. So good.

I make new potatoes like that, cook them, add butter and raw diced red onion, put the lid back on and let the onions steam/ soften in the butter

Never tried it with chips though, sounds amazing

Kanga83 · 18/09/2019 12:59

Roasted sweet potato with cashew butter and dates. It's really tasty.

BadassBusty · 18/09/2019 13:00

I love to put salad cream on a chunk of cheese (cheddar and the big slaps of Babybel you get in France are my fav!) - lovely snack!

Teddybear45 · 18/09/2019 13:00

Kidney beans on toast

AgeLikeWine · 18/09/2019 13:01

Tinned mackerel in tomato sauce. I assume most people buy it for their cats, but I love the stuff.

Bluesheep8 · 18/09/2019 13:02

Probably what I'm eating right now...cold leftover balsamic roast veg from last night topped with tinned tuna mixed with salad cream

Goldrill · 18/09/2019 13:05

A tin of tuna with loads of vinegar and salt on.

MyCatHatesEverybody · 18/09/2019 13:06

When I was a kid out Sunday night tea was heinz tomato soup with a tin of baked beans stirred into it.

Coulddowithanap · 18/09/2019 13:07

Used to like banana and sugar sandwiches

InsertFunnyUsername · 18/09/2019 13:07

Crisp sandwich. Cheese and jalapeno sandwich. One of those large bags of doritos I just squirt salsa, sour cream, jalapenos and grated cheese in to the bag as a quick dinner Blush Drink the gherkin juice 😍

EarlyBird39 · 18/09/2019 13:07

Raw cake dough
Raw biscuits dough
Fried eggs with manioc flour
Soup with yogurt
Fried egg with a dollop of cream (can be milk too, but the cream makes it much more tasty!) 😋😋

Some good suggestions here, I may have to try some out... 😋

At (boarding) school in the late 90's we used to make "afterbirth butties" - jam and bacon on white bread. Gross now I think about it!! Although, that was around the time we used to 'toast' bread on the radiator because we didn't have a toaster in the boarding house....
