I’ve just made myself some salt and pepper on toast. First discovered as a poor student when literally all I had in the house was value white sliced bread, cheap margarine and salt and pepper. It’s very nice! I’m now 41 and I make it with nice bread and butter, Maldon salt and freshly ground pepper though Smile

Sometimes I like to eat a bit of stock cube too

Anyone else?

Cheese & tomato sandwich. Made with bread, butter, cheese and...tomato ketchup. Who needs actual tomatoes?!

leaserspottedmummybird · 18/09/2019 21:36

BellyButton85 · 18/09/2019 21:38

@Bobblebop yes yes yes I'm with you on that! A mouthful of chocolate and a cheese and onion crisp...has to be galaxy chocolate though

ErinO · 18/09/2019 21:38

Mashed banana and marmite on toast

HakunaM · 18/09/2019 21:42

Rice with cubed cheese and olives stirred in. Delicious! And ready in 2 minutes with microwave rice.

Tabitha005 · 18/09/2019 21:43

Quite why the fuck I read this thread when I'm keto-ing is anyone's guess. Chips with butter....... drool.

Pre-keto; I used to enjoy taking a bowl of mash and gravy to eat with a spoon up to bed. I also love eating just one thing as an entire meal - eg; just sausages or a plate full of fish fingers.

isntshelovely11 · 18/09/2019 21:43

Fish fingers with gravy.. I didn't think it was weird but everyone I've mentioned it to has said it's really strange ?!

Stravapalava · 18/09/2019 21:49

Bread sticks used to scoop up butter.
Broccoli rice cooked in the pan with mayflower curry sauce mixed in. You get 2 bowls for like 200 calories and it's really filling. Excellent skint meal!!

Sforsh49 · 18/09/2019 21:49

Soup and Chips. Any bowl of soup can be improved by a portion of chips floating in it like croutons....

Salt & Vinegar rice cakes with Philadelphia spread on them

Any cooked meat with butter spread on it

friedeggsandbeans · 18/09/2019 21:50

Ready Salted Hula Hoops with loads of malt vinegar! They go all soggy and double in size.
Crumpets with cheese and marmite.
Cheese Doritos in a granary roll.
Digestive biscuit with Dairylea and squirty cream on top.
Beetroot and cream crackers.
Banana sandwich - has to be brown bread.

itssquidstella · 18/09/2019 21:53

At uni I was a big fan of a cheese and lime pickle toastie.

Once I ran out of cheese and had to substitute with corned beef - surprisingly tasty!

coconutcurls · 18/09/2019 21:57

Marmite and salt and vinegar Walkers sandwich. My absolute favourite as a child and now.

crivit · 18/09/2019 21:59

Before I go off to dream about chips (well cooked, thin, crispy chips) dipped in margarine, and Sunday dinner sandwiches, is this the one @SapphireSeptember?

Wholefood peanut butter spread on 90% cocoa solids chocolate. Delish.

Namechange170518 · 18/09/2019 22:11

When I was a child I was partial to corned beef, brown sauce and cucumber sandwiches. It was the only way I would eat corned beef, and won't ever eat it again as I have been veggie for 13 years.

When I was a teenager I also used to drink pernod and orange juice.

Both of the above-mentioned concoctions were introduced to me by my grandma.

These days I enjoy a sandwich of cheap white bread, butter, bbq sauce and those bacon flavoured soya salad topping things.

Peanut butter and grated carrot is also nice. Basically, I like bread.

cricketmum84 · 18/09/2019 22:12
