I’ve just made myself some salt and pepper on toast. First discovered as a poor student when literally all I had in the house was value white sliced bread, cheap margarine and salt and pepper. It’s very nice! I’m now 41 and I make it with nice bread and butter, Maldon salt and freshly ground pepper though Smile

Sometimes I like to eat a bit of stock cube too

Anyone else?

Longley Farm cottage cheese on (preferably sourdough) crumpets. Food of the gods.

My dad used to have cornflakes, stewed apple and custard in a bowl.

robarc · 18/09/2019 14:10

i love eating a jar of pickles and then drinking the vinegar from the jar!

Especially with a hangover!

Marthadumptruck · 18/09/2019 14:12

Cold mushroom soup out of the can
The whole apple
raw mushrooms

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 18/09/2019 14:14

Spam. I like spam.
Also I drink bovril.

It's funny because normally I don't like salty food at all, I never ever cook with salt, but my taste buds seem to make an exception for these two things

ElizaDee · 18/09/2019 14:22

Love salt on toast!

My weird one is seafood sauce on toast.

SisyphusDad · 18/09/2019 14:25

Another one for Bovril on toast. Food of the Gods!

Worlds0kayestmum · 18/09/2019 14:30

I love fried spam sandwiches too and bovril on toast. In fact, cold toast with butter, bovril and mashed avocado is delicious

SMiles14 · 18/09/2019 14:38

I eat 2 slices of toast, buttered and with marmite on, cut into little squares and put in a bowl with baked beans and cheese on top. With a spoon. Its how my mum always used to make it!! Also eggs on toast always with marmite except scrambled.
At the moment my breakfast is greek yoghurt with oats mixed in and honey on top, eat it at my desk as I go to the gym on the way to work and everyone always looks weirdly at me, it does look gross but its quite yummy! I used to eat hot chocolate powder by the spoon as a child as well, so dry!!!

zingally · 18/09/2019 14:39

Tomato ketchup on pancakes. :) Glorious!

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 18/09/2019 14:40

When we was a baby I developed a taste for aptamil milk powder 😳

I also love mince when it has been salted and put in the saucepan to cook so is sad but before it actually goes brown, so it's still raw!

zingally · 18/09/2019 14:41

For the people talking about Bovril! I love it! It's my go-to drink whenever I'm feeling a bit under the weather. There's something so soothing about the meaty, salty flavour.

My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

My dad was a big fan of Bovril on toast, but I confess, I've never tried it.

fanniboz · 18/09/2019 14:42

Coleslaw sandwiches Blush

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 18/09/2019 14:43

My mum used to eat sugar or condensed milk sandwiches.

Warpdrive · 18/09/2019 14:46

My disgusting DH has form for putting jam and cheese on a toasted teacakes. Savage.

tillytrotter1 · 18/09/2019 14:46

Granary bread, unsalted butter, philadelphia, strawberries, crushed black pepper, wonderful sandwich, my pupils used to think I had a jam butty for lunch.
Love raw cauliflower dipped in garlic mayo.

tillytrotter1 · 18/09/2019 14:47

My mum used to eat sugar or condensed milk sandwiches.

I was once called posh because I didn't eat sugar butties back in the 50s!

Gingerkittykat · 18/09/2019 14:57

My lazy meal (which incidentally I had for dinner last night and lunch today) is to take a packet of Asian noodle soup and drop a raw egg into the cooking broth along with some spring onions just after I have added the block of noodles. The egg poaches perfectly and adds a cheap source of protein to an otherwise nutritionally lacking meal.

I used to regularly eat banana, marmite and cheese bagels.

redredrobins · 18/09/2019 15:04

condensed milk sandwiches were always called Conny Onny sarnies by my Liverpool born dad, yummy!

redredrobins · 18/09/2019 15:05

Oh, and Bovril on cold yorkshire puddings.

Frickinfabulous · 18/09/2019 15:07

Heinz chicken soup with pasta, cheese, peas and tons of black pepper 🤗

puppymouse · 18/09/2019 15:09

Avocado with a blob of ketchup in the hole left by the stone.

Peanut butter and lettuce sandwiches.

wink1970 · 18/09/2019 15:27

cheese on crumpets

tomato ketchup squirted onto sliced meat then rolled up and stuffed into mouth in 1 go

Confuseddotcotton · 18/09/2019 15:40

Apple cores, pear cores and orange peel here too. I prefer orange peel to the actual orange. Also love the white stringy bits.

Confuseddotcotton · 18/09/2019 15:42

I love leftovers but i hardly ever reheat. Just eat cold from the fridge. Everything from pasta to roast dinner. When it comes to leftovers, most meals taste better cold i think.

AngelicInnocent · 18/09/2019 15:43

Corned beef and Philadelphia sandwiches
Freshly cooked sausage and cottage cheese sandwiches
Cold mash and corned beef mixed together with salt and pepper then fried (just a teaspoon of oil) until crispy
