I’ve just made myself some salt and pepper on toast. First discovered as a poor student when literally all I had in the house was value white sliced bread, cheap margarine and salt and pepper. It’s very nice! I’m now 41 and I make it with nice bread and butter, Maldon salt and freshly ground pepper though Smile

Sometimes I like to eat a bit of stock cube too

Anyone else?

OP posts:

Raw broccoli in a bowl with cut up apples. Raw jelly too! Oh and apparently it's weird that my chip/crisp sandwiches don't have butter on them!

Marzipane · 19/09/2019 18:06

Cold baked beans, straight from the can.

MagicKingdomDizzy · 19/09/2019 18:06

OP Tesco do a white baguette with salt and pepper, it's truly the food of the Gods. Especially if you add lashings of lurpak Grin

skyye · 19/09/2019 18:08

I eat a lot of weird stuff but the one I get the most "wtf"s from is cheese and chocolate spread sandwiches - with optional cheese and onion crisps if you really wanna push the boat out!

Definitely gonna try pasta and gravy that sounds amazing!

SunshineAngel · 19/09/2019 18:09

This dates back to my uni student days, but I didn't use to have much money, so would buy the Uncle Ben's microwave rice for £1 a pouch and just have one of those some nights.. but sometimes when I got bored of the texture of rice, I'd scrunch up a bag of crisps and pour that in to eat with the rice. Weird, but oh my words it's lovely!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 19/09/2019 18:09

Sliced gherkins on fish finger sandwiches.Amazing

HippyMama90 · 19/09/2019 18:11

Baked beans on pasta!!, hubby thinks it's awful and will never even try it. Totally normal for me!.

LoseLooseLucy · 19/09/2019 18:11

Ooh I love stuffing mix too, but I make mine with loads of butter and a chicken stock cube. I can eat it from the bowl Blush

Moominfan · 19/09/2019 18:11

Another raw jelly eater here. Don't like it made up properly just those dense little cubes for me.

We eat goat meat. My friend came round once and said what a lovely lamb curry. They were horrified when I said it was goat. I didn't even think to mention it as Curry goat is just a standard Sunday staple to us 🤷🏾‍♀️

TitsalinaBumSquash · 19/09/2019 18:13

I eat the whole apple and pear, top down, people go nuts over it! 😂
I also love a cup of stock made with a cube and lots of bread and butter, that was a throw back from my childhood in poverty.
Ready salted crisps dipped in ketchup.
Peanut butter, beetroot, mature cheese and salt and vinegar crisps in a thick white bread sandwich. 👌🏻

Nogoodnickname · 19/09/2019 18:18

@Itsallpetetong oh my god yes-chicken and mushroom pot noodle buttys are the best!

Melted cheese and strawberry jam on toast

Salt and vinegar crisp buttys with loads of mayonnaise slathered on.

beingmum39 · 19/09/2019 18:21

I love the cooked fat on any meat... Over eating the meat any day.

Crisp sandwich watsits
Chips with raw onion and cheese grated on top

ladycatlover · 19/09/2019 18:24

Sardine and strawberry jam sandwiches... My Dad swore they were his favourite. So I tried them. They were... Interesting! Have to say I didn't repeat the experiment though.

JPduck · 19/09/2019 18:32

Weetabix with marg and jam 😋

twinkletoesfairy · 19/09/2019 18:37

Only green potatoes are poisonous.

Celestine70 · 19/09/2019 18:43

Fried eggs mashed into mashed potato, yolk has to be hot but runny, covered in tomato sauce. Something my nan used to make me. Cheese and jam sandwiches.

LittleMy20 · 19/09/2019 18:43

I eat the pips in things.

NoraEphronsneck · 19/09/2019 18:44

Very outing I think to those who know me but Branston pickle with chilli con carne.

Hadtonamechangeforthis123 · 19/09/2019 18:44

Another raw jelly eater here :)
Sugar sandwich (has to be white bread)
Banana sandwich (white bread again)
Pilchards on toast

Feelthethunder · 19/09/2019 18:47

Not an odd one but does anyone remember the milk you could get delivered that was super sweet? My grandma used to get it, it wasn’t white like milk, it was a pale white. I’m thinking it could have been condensed milk (but with the consistency of normal milk) it came in a glass bottle with a long head

But back to odd foods, my sister and I used to squeeze sausage meat out of uncooked sausages and eat it.

TateWorm · 19/09/2019 18:51

I love raw jelly too.

A slice of toast alongside a bowl of ice cream is amazing.

Poached egg on top of chicken flavoured super noodles.

I don't think any of the following are unusual but people have given me weird looks when I've mentioned having them:

Chips and mayonnaise
Chips and salad cream
Chips and cheese and curry sauce all together.

Back in my younger days my friends and I used to love drinking Martini/vermouth with Diet Coke. Bar staff always gave us weird looks but it was so much nicer than martini and orange like they would always ask if we wanted instead. Can't tell you the last time I saw it in a pub though so I've probably aged myself well here.

IneedPositivityxx · 19/09/2019 19:00

Raw cake mix - only a mouthful or it gets sickly

Raw custard - powder, sugar & milk - same as above or it gets sickly

Cold soft asparagus from a jar

Gurkins straight from jar

Nogoodnickname · 19/09/2019 19:01

Chicken super noodles with grated cheese and jalapeños on top

Chip barm with mayonnaise and coleslaw, the chips have to be from a chip shop.

Chip butty with sliced ham and salad cream.

ToftyAC · 19/09/2019 19:03

Tuna mayo & sliced banana butties. They rock 😋

lumpy76 · 19/09/2019 19:07

@Feelthethunder my Mum used to tell me that that milk was sterilised milk...have no idea whether that's correct but that's what she told me! I was always a bit obsessed with milk from the milkman that we didn't get (green top, blue top and the milk in different bottles with a bottle top like a beer bottle on...) I was a strange child....
