Yep, cozie. This is all about timing and the election. It's too late to rush it through now so IF there's any impeachment, it will be during a (God forbid) second term. I think that most of us just want him OUT. Whether or not he is ever punished for his crimes whilst in office is of secondary consideration. I think it's sad a lot of us feel that way but it is what it is. We don't have a John Dean. We don't have tapes. We don't have a president who, for all of his dirty dealings, respected the office of the Presidency and (in his way) loved our Country. Nixon was about power, not money. When he saw he'd lost power, he resigned. Scrotus is about money, not (so much) power. He will stay until he's wrung whatever he can from our Country.
I remember all the televised hearings of the Watergate Scandal. The televised hearings we're seeing now are completely different. I just don't remember 'obstructionism' and disrespect shown by witnesses then. The WH wasn't advising (at least not publicly) witnesses to not show up or to stonewall, let alone commit perjury. But then again, I'm looking back 40+ years and television journalism was very different then. As well as my own 'outlook' as a 19-20 year old vs the way I see the world now.
