From back in Decemeber:

'This shouldn’t get lost in the avalanche of crazy. The wall we need is between DOJ and the White House. The foundation of our democracy- the rule of law- depends on it.' Sally Q. Yates.

This whilstleblower stuff is going to roll and roll...

'The affair, centering on Trump's contacts with a mystery foreign leader, has also injected a toxic element into relations among the President, the intelligence community and Congress'

edition.cnn.com/2019/09/20/politics/donald-trump-whistleblower/index.html

Giuliani confirms what everyone didn't know with two left feet..

Rudy Giuliani
@RudyGiuliani
A President telling a Pres-elect of a well known corrupt country he better investigate corruption that affects US is doing his job. Maybe if Obama did that the Biden Family wouldn’t have bilked millions from Ukraine and billions from China; being covered up by a Corrupt Media.

Looks like Pence is in the mire too....

www.justsecurity.org/66101/trump-and-giulianis-quest-for-fake-ukraine-dirt-on-biden-an-explainer/

A question to Pence last week...
“Number one, did you discuss Joe Biden at all during that meeting yesterday with the Ukrainian President? And number two, can you assure Ukraine that the hold-up of [U.S. security assistance] has absolutely nothing to do with efforts, including by Rudy Giuliani, to try to dig up dirt on the Biden family?” Associated Press reporter Jill Colvin asked.

As a foreign reporter visiting the US I was stunned by Trump's press conference

... watching a full presidential Trump press conference while visiting the US this week I realised how much the reporting of Trump necessarily edits and parses his words, to force it into sequential paragraphs or impose meaning where it is difficult to detect.

PerkingFaintly · 20/09/2019 17:27

Yeah, I agree with that Australian Guardian reporter that the media is inadvertently complicit in hiding Trump's cognitive decline.

(NorthWest's link: www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/sep/20/as-a-foreign-reporter-visiting-the-us-i-was-stunned-by-trumps-press-conference )

They're used to doing a certain amount of editing, for the benefit of the viewer who doesn't get much out of the ers, ums, and false starts.

But with Trump it's not just the occasional false start. His incapacity to speak coherently tells us something important in itself. We need to know.

It's likely he'll challenge Markey. Kennedy will announce tomorrow.

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-islam-religion-university-program-education-a9112581.html

'The Trump administration has threatened to disqualify a university-level Middle East studies programme from receiving federal funding for teaching the “positive aspects of Islam”.

The US Department of Education has ordered that the programme run by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University revise their course plans by 22 September or risk losing future funding.

The administration claims the course has “critical shortcomings and impermissible biases”, with “very little serious instruction” on national security and instead “considerable emphasis” on the “positive aspects of Islam”.'

If This Isn’t Impeachable, Nothing Is
www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2019/09/trumps-ukraine-call-clear-impeachable-offense/598570/

... we have a sweaty, panicked admission on national television by Trump’s bizarre homunculus, Rudy Giuliani, that he did in fact seek such an investigation on Trump’s behalf.

I had to look up ‘homunculus’...one to go in my notebook of useful insults! Smile

cozietoesie · 21/09/2019 18:32

I doubt he'll actually be impeached. Across called it, I reckon.

cozietoesie · 21/09/2019 20:36

Sorry.

You said it. More from Mr O'Donnell. Same topic.

If you want to keep drugs out of the country a fence with gaps in it is hardly the best way to do it anyway.

cozietoesie · 22/09/2019 00:20

We're entering a dangerous moment. Could I just say now, that if things go pear-shaped, it's been an honour and a privilege to talk with y'all over the past months

www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/under-trump-arms-deal-high-tech-u-s-bombs-be-n1015346

"To think that we would co-produce these bombs and in turn contribute to an arms race, regional instability, and civilian deaths is unfathomable," Murphy said. "Congress needs to put a stop to the way we do business with the Saudis and start acting like the senior partner in this relationship rather than succumbing to whatever the kingdom wants."

"A secretive monarchy that commits atrocities in Yemen, that murders dissidents and journalists and lies to the world about it, and that treats women as property is not one to which we should be giving some of our most sensitive military technology," Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., said.

It's been quite something, cozie. Smile Shock
