I won't inflict the video on anyone but OMG:

Ben Carson prayer opening Cabinet meeting:

"We thank You for President Trump who also exhibits great courage in face of constant criticism. We ask You give him strength to endure & wisdom to lead and to recognize You as the sovereign of the universe, with solution to everything."

This is re: the move to censure Schiff that has just failed to pass in Congress. MAGA wails are heard everywhere - but honestly, “fall in line”? Are Romney and Graham not allowed to have minds and souls of their own, or must they do what the dictator says?

Another thing to add to the impeachment list. The emoluments clause is “phony”? If it’s phony, how many other times has he breached it?

Trump just claimed his G-7/Doral pick was OK because Obama got a Netflix & book deal. He claimed these were negotiated while in office.

There's no proof, and CNN fact-checked in real time.

He then went on to claim the Emoluments clause is "phony." CNN put it on the screen.

Lion that video kept popping up on my feed. Couldn't bear to watch it.

Just for some light amusement have a look at this. Michael Spicer is a hero in my eyes, he does this with BoJo a lot, Liz Truss and other tories, but for once he's gone down the Trump route. So clever!

In 1999 Trump proposed a one-off payment which would have seen people with a net worth of more than $10 million pay a 14.25% tax. Trump claimed it would eliminate the national debt, then $5.66 trillion, CNN reported at the time.

Which means he was worth less than 10 million. Wink

www.newsweek.com/trump-conflicts-interest-tracker-1466800

President Donald Trump has racked up more than 2,500 conflicts of interest in less than half the number of days he has been in office, according to a new live tracker launched by a watchdog.

"It's not merely the fact that President Trump refused to divest his businesses, it's that this arrangement has been embraced by administration officials, by members of Congress, by members of foreign governments and Trump himself who continues to go to his properties either to golf or to stay there,"

The watchdog's research director added that Donald Trump's visits to his properties "give his paid customers a perk that no other luxury location can provide, which is access to the president of the United States and the more than 200 administration officials who have made appearances at his properties."

As far as secession Cozie, there's no Constitutional 'mechanism' for it. The 'common wisdom' is that a State cannot legally secede. A State could say they've seceded, but if they tried to seal borders or take over Federal facilities and kick out Federal workers, I'm sure the military would be sent in to 'secure things'. This is what happened at Ft Sumpter. The Confederacy shelled the fort and Lincoln sent in Federal reinforcements to protect it. Hey Presto, the Civil War (or as it's called down South "The War of the Northern Aggression" 😆). Honestly, I don't think any State wants to test the theory that they can secede. But who knows, crazier things have happened (ie Scrotus).

As far as 'major changes', I think hope that a lot of what Scrotus has done can be 'undone' pretty rapidly. Anything he's done by EO can be cancelled by another EO by the new POTUS. Cabinet members and other political appointees can be fired in a trice as they 'serve at the pleasure of the POTUS'. I've seen my (former) agency reverse engines so fast it made our heads spin when a new administration came in. The new POTUS just has to put people in with the knowledge of how to make those changes and make them rapidly. And that means savvy policy people. Not one's 'besties', sycophants, or someone they want to 'do business with'.

Laws that have been changed (like the new tax law & some changes to the ACA) take longer because they have to go through Congress. And if the House or Senate majority is from the other party, they may not get changed at all.

DH and I were actually talking about this the other night. We can see a lot of environmental changes and immigration changes (for the better) once new Agency heads are in place. Right now we have Scrotus' oil and energy butt-buddies running the Interior Dept and no one really running ICE as there's only an Acting Director.

But I think we can expect a shit-ton of shenanigans (especially at Interior) before the end comes for the Scrotus Regime. It's already starting. Scrotus et al are already getting 'antsy' and making grabs in plain site that before they'd try to hide (like the G7/Doral thingy). They're like thieves who have seen the headlights turn into the driveway so they're grabbing what they can before skedaddling out the back door and over the back fence.

'The acting US ambassador to Kyiv has told congressional committees conducting impeachment hearings that military aid to Ukraine was made conditional on its government investigating the president’s political opponents.

In the latest damning deposition by a serving state department official, Bill Taylor presented a written statement to the three House committees holding hearings on whether Donald Trump abused his office to seek political advantage.

Democrats declared it to be the clearest account to date of Trump’s abuse of office in the Ukraine scandal.'

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-fake-news-white-house-subscriptions-nyt-washington-post-a9167051.html

'White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham told The Hill the administration has “no plans to renew” its subscriptions to either news outlet after the president continued his attacks against the American press.

Speaking about the New York Times to Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Mr Trump said on Monday night: “We don’t even want it in the White House anymore.”

“We’re going to probably terminate that and the Washington Post, he added, “They’re fake.” '

Ugh. Awful. To compare his political treatment to lynching is beyond despicable - and then, to threaten the same on a Democrat President?

So some day, if a Democrat becomes President and the Republicans win the House, even by a tiny margin, they can impeach the President, without due process or fairness or any legal rights. All Republicans must remember what they are witnessing here - a lynching. But we will WIN!

TheClaws · 23/10/2019 01:33

Breitbart readers love it though, of course. Here’s a sampling of the milder comments.

A cattle thief in the old west was lynched for being a rustler...no due process...just a mob...a tree and a rope...kinda like this dog and pony show in Congress.

Bill Taylor’s deposition demolished Trump and his team. Clear and direct connections to aid and Trump’s personal interests were made. How can Republicans make excuses for this? Below this, I’ll copy the actual White House response.
