AIBU to think teachers should be respectful to pupils?

DS 11 has just started secondary school. He has mild SEN needs which the school are aware of (effects speed of work and presentation).
Today in front of the class, the maths teacher screwed up his worksheet, threw it in the bin and simply handed him a new worksheet (with no verbal communication) as he'd made a minor mistake in not leaving enough space on the page.
AIBU to think this type of behaviour from teachers is a bit 'old school' and unnecessary, or am I being completely precious about my little snowflake?

Teachers always say on here "is that what really happened" - assume kids are lying -it so often sounds like they are defending their crap colleagues

In case you missed it, earlier in the thread I shared my experience with a scrunched up paper in the bin and irate parent. The paper was not only not scrunched up, it never made the bin and we actually had it to show the parent. The child wasn't necessarily lying, it was his perception of what happened ,some confusion and being upset at having to start over.

That's why getting both sides of the story(if it's something you really care about) is important.

Don't go around suggesting common sense is applied stock!
Haven't you got the memo that the best thing to do is take everything at face value and then add lots of dramatic sentiment to it ready for the complaint? Wink

Oh god I'm teaching quadratic graphs next week. Kids may mess up their graphs. I may give them new sheets. I gave up scrunching (exhausting and too many disciplinaries on my record) but I better reserve three hours for answering the understandably enraged parental calls.
