So if you're in Scotland you will know what a munchy box is. Basically it's a pizza box from the chippy, Indian or Chinese filled with a variety of stuff. DH is out tonight, im throwing a mild strop about food we have in the house and so I was browsing the local Just Eat to see what I might order. One oif the local chippy/Indians do a 'Single Mum Munchy Box'
Why do they think this is specifically for single mums? The chocolate?
It's a bit bat shit right?

Have added a screen shot !

Didn’t know a munch box was a thing. Sounds like a heart attack in the making.

Would be £20 at least here (Midlands) never heard of pizza crunch, is it like calzone?

^^

Grin

Exactly. Like calzone

IncrediblySadToo · 15/09/2019 01:02

Can no one read anymore?

Just RTFT & you’ll learn what pizza crunch is, how many it’s for & where it’s from!

FMD

...and there’s simply no need to be so nasty about it if it doesn’t appeal to you!

WiddlinDiddlin · 15/09/2019 01:34

I am not at all surprised so many MNers don't know what a munch box is, or a pizza crunch or a parmo..

Its like you people have always had real food, made from scratch, with some quinoa and half an avocado...

How about some of these.. we don't really have munchboxes in the midlands.. instead.. may I present you with...

Orange chips.

Thats right, chips, battered and fried again, and a magic secret ingredient that makes it orange.

imalrightjack · 15/09/2019 02:28

That's an absolute bargain!!

Monday55 · 15/09/2019 02:30

They should rename it "Heart attack in a box"

CheeseStraws · 15/09/2019 05:35

They are not a Scottish thing, we have them in England also.. What, what? Where?

sparklefarts · 15/09/2019 06:43

@Longlongsummer 'Just noticed the ‘with or without nuts’. Is that just for single ladies?!'

Nah I'm married and I could go some extra nuts 😁👍

@WiddlinDiddlin are they spicy? They'd be good if a bit spicy. Or are they just orange for some unknown reason?

Cheesy one looks amazing apart from the haggis.

FurnitureAndBackgammon · 15/09/2019 12:01

Yes, where please?

TrendyNorthLondonTeen · 15/09/2019 12:05

Got a raging hangover so just grazing on the remains of last nights munchy box that came with:
Chips
Doner meat
Chicken tikka
Chicken wings
Chicken pakora
Vegetable pakora
Mushroom pakora
Onion rings
Potato fritters
A massive naan bread
And three different sauces
All for the princely sum of a tenner

And before the MN food police ask, this was between several adults and no one has had a heart attack as of yet.

BertrandRussell · 15/09/2019 12:08

I’m torn between wishing you could get them near me and shuddering at the name.......

BertrandRussell · 15/09/2019 12:10

In Kinsale there’s a chip shop that does battered and deep fried whole boiled potatoes.

FurnitureAndBackgammon · 15/09/2019 12:29

Sounds like a heart attack in the making

Ooh yeah but what a way to go, eh? Grin

Bigmango · 15/09/2019 12:33

This is genius. And insulting but I can’t quite work out why.

PhilCornwall1 · 15/09/2019 12:51

Bugger me, that's a shed load of food!!

I think anyone ordering that should be single. After eating all that you'd certainly honk!!

WiddlinDiddlin · 15/09/2019 13:04

sparklefarts not really, some places theres an obvious hint of paprika, others not so much. It is a closely guarded secret as to why they are orange.

If you want spicy chips.. find a chinese that does 'salt and pepper' chips, ie chips refried with garlic, salt, chili, pepper etc. So good.

SpamChaudFroid · 15/09/2019 13:22

The Tartan Army chant went “we’re gonna deep fry yir pizzas, deep fry yir piiiiiizzzzzaaaaas.”

GrinGrin Life imitates art Grin

I have not heard of these munchy boxes. The breakfast one sounds top notch. We have a dessert place that delivers these insane waffles with bits of Kinder Bueno on top. It's the most genius thing I've ever eaten and I did get rather obsessed with them for a bit replacing all meals with them for a week

I'm going to have to hunt for the elusive munchy box on Just Eat now.

sparklefarts · 15/09/2019 13:38

@BertrandRussell Shock do they taste like really crispy roast potatoes?
