Not been on mn very long and have not seen all the previous posts that have gone on - but i think we should be allowed to express our views on subjects (that may already have been covered) without people swearing and making snide remarks about other posters. It just makes me feel a bit reluctant to post anything else and I can't believe I am the only one to feel like this.

Yes, some posters on here are rather aggressive. I can be aggressive on occasion, but I don't think I'm nasty or mean. The triple -whammy takes a bit of doing.

I don't avoid those I dislike. I optimistically assume that there will be one thread, somewhere, where we're on complete agreement.

To date, this has always proved the case.

Some appear rude, yes, some very opinionated, I sometimes appear grumpy. I have been told. Fair enough, I apologised. I dont avoid posters (aside from one).

However, I do the opposite, I sometimes go on a thread just to see what that particular person has to say about whatever subject is being discussed (mostly because they have proved wells of wisdom in the past)

I think a lot of so called hard nosed bitchiness is due to busy-ness, impatience, lack of ability to PR your own personality, and the tendency of the internet to depersonalise a conversation - we tend to forget we are talking to real people!
