to think that some people on mn come across as really agressive, nasty and mean

Not been on mn very long and have not seen all the previous posts that have gone on - but i think we should be allowed to express our views on subjects (that may already have been covered) without people swearing and making snide remarks about other posters. It just makes me feel a bit reluctant to post anything else and I can't believe I am the only one to feel like this.

why is noone force feeding me? am i not good enough?

mamazon · 09/08/2007 19:50

she does have a point.

i think we have such a hardened shell to protect us from troll's that occasionally a newbie or two will be flamed for no real reason....simply for discussing a topic thats been "done" already.

still, agree that you should either toughen up or try and speak with teh person you have the issue with rather than start a thread about hwo terrible we all are

"But look at the threads where someone really needs support. They get it for sure. "

No, I don't agree. What about this one for example?

I've had a lot of great advice from this site - just sitting here tonight after finally getting my two to sleep - somne of the comments just riled me a bit - took them to seriously I think.
I'll have a cream tea if anyones offering!

lulumama · 09/08/2007 19:55

that;s a girl michie !

madamez · 09/08/2007 19:55

Well it's all down to your own perceptions: for one thing, a newcomer reading a thread half-full of FUCK OFF YOU CUNT might not actually realise - or stay with the trhead long enough - to work out that it's an exchange between two posters who know each other well and aren't exactly serious.

But in general, words on a screen can't actually do you any harm. Particularly when they are not even aimed at you or anything to do with you - and even if they are, being called a twat or a troll or a loser online is not quite the same as being punched in the face, arrested or sued for expressing your own opinions, is it?
