Playing outside my house

I live in a nice quiet area and opposite my house is a green. I've lived here 2 and a half years and no one plays on the green as every one has their own gardens. Next to the green is parking and there is a sign that says for residents only. This includes me as I don't have a drive and it includes the people living on the semi circle behind the green.
I've just heard a load of shouting and look outside. About 10 grown men are running around outside with children. Bubbles are everywhere and they are playing games. Right beside the cars too. Also because they must be having some kind of gathering I can't park my car in the residents spot. I've had to park outside my house. I don't like doing this as last time I had to my car got hit!!
So 2 AIBU really. AIBU to be annoyed I can't park In my designated spot for me and AIBU to be annoyed that they are all charging about outside my house when they have a back garden to play in!!

I agree with OP it would be as annoying AF. Not many sounds more terrible than the screeching of children! Angry

hazell42 · 08/09/2019 17:24

At what age do you become like this?
If I saw people running round with bubbles I would smile and think how nice
They look happy
Your car was not hit just because it was not on its designated spot. And your car has a much chance of being hit in your spot as anywhere else.
So, smile. They are enjoying the last but of summer. it's nice.

You miserable old thing ... the green is for communal use .. I expect the gardens aren't big enough for football. I live near a big green and it's nice to see people using it and having fun.. go back under your grumpy rock!!

Skittlenommer · 08/09/2019 17:29

At what age do you become like this?

Well I’m 33 and have been like this since birth! Didn’t even enjoy children when I was one. I don’t like the sounds they make I don’t like their unpredictable jerky movements. They’re heavy footed annoying demons and it’d be reason enough to move if I had a communal area near me! If fur-parents were using the green to play with their barking puppies though I’d be all for that!! Grin

God @Skittlenommer you're on another thread talking about how women love being prostitutes, now you're on here saying how you dislike laughing children?

OP I look forward to the day private cars are banned so people don't think their polluting metal boxes trump children's right to play.

Defeated10 · 08/09/2019 18:11

😂😂 I am sorry but I am laughing. I am aware I'm being a grump but it's just irritating about the parking but because I was annoyed about that they just annoyed me being outside.

you sound like you're out for a moan. its not even a full 24 hrs. let the kids be kids and then move your car over once they are done. sounds like its a rare occurrence and your just used to having it your way. what is the worls coming to when you cant even play on a green with some toys in good weather!

Bluntness100 · 08/09/2019 18:19

So why was your car parked outside your home before they all even arrived?

Hederex · 08/09/2019 18:21

Dear God. A green being used for its intended purpose.

Whatever next.

Anarchy.

SuzieBishop · 08/09/2019 18:26

Bubbles?! People having fun?! My god, call the police IMMEDIATELY

LindaLyndell · 08/09/2019 18:36

Did you alert the church elders, OP?! Hmm

clpsmum · 08/09/2019 18:39

OMG families playing outside together with bubbles???? And you've had to park outside your own house???? Life sucks sometimes

akmum18 · 08/09/2019 18:43

You sound like my neighbour who was complaining about the exact issue to me Hmm my advice was to move elsewhere if you didn’t want to live in a family community where children god forbid actually play and it’s not their issue your car was hit, report it to the council as needing a speed camera or bumps to avoid the speeding and your car will be safe and sound Wink

Skittlenommer · 08/09/2019 18:55

@horse4course God @Skittlenommer you're on another thread talking about how women love being prostitutes, now you're on here saying how you dislike laughing children?

No, I said I have friends who work in the sex industry by choice (in a range of roles) and they enjoy it but that’s not to say women in that industry are not exploited. The blanket statement that all women in the sex industry are exploited is incorrect. I don’t discriminate against laughing children, I avoid all children! Lol!

Stickytoffeepuddingyum · 08/09/2019 18:56

Ffs you're moaning that children are playing outside with bubbles and having fun whilst being supervised. Get a grip for one afternoon does it matter about your precious parking spot.

People do get ridiculous about stupid non events

WorraLiberty · 08/09/2019 19:19

WTF you think your car trumps their right to run around playing, is totally beyond me.

Skittlenommer · 08/09/2019 20:04

I’m Team Car! Grin

SarahSinclair · 08/09/2019 20:30

I’m Team Bubbles! Grin

Sayhellotothethings · 08/09/2019 20:40

You sound like a misery guts OP. God forbid people play outside instead of being in front of a screen. If the parking is a one off and it is actually your spot, I'd happily let it go.
