I really want to start taking photos again with them ... but can you even get them developed anymore?

OP posts:
FoldenHoard · 04/09/2019 21:25

Yes, there are still shops where they will develop them.

lazylinguist · 04/09/2019 21:27

I haven't heard this was a trend - but wouldn't disposable cameras be very bad environmentally speaking - throw-away plastic?

dollydaydream114 · 04/09/2019 21:27

You can still get film developed - quite a few places do it. Asda, Timpson's, Max Spielmann, etc.

Disposable cameras are pretty bad environmentally, though.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 04/09/2019 21:28

Why would you? Some lovely landfill & poor quality photos.

Most phones can now take very good pictures and they are very cheap to print out with somewhere like the free prints app

Spinnaret · 04/09/2019 21:28

Cost about £15 the last time I had a film developed about 2 years ago. Also not very environmentally friendly.

EmeraldShamrock · 04/09/2019 21:29

Yabu they are very bad for the environment. Just remember to print your digital ones there are lots of apps offering 100 free prints for a postage payment.

CassianAndor · 04/09/2019 21:32

More junk for landfill? Yeah, that sounds great.

Don’t you have a phone? You know you can take photos on that, right? And get them developed?

steff13 · 04/09/2019 21:33

Is there a disposable camera trend circa 2019, not 1999? The camera on your phone must take higher quality pictures, and most adults already have one.

birdsdestiny · 04/09/2019 21:37

I will try asda. I have just searched everywhere to get mine developed with no luck. We only bought one as Ds was on a school trip and he wasnt allowed a phone and they suggested a disposable camera rather than digital camera. It's been a pain in the back to find somewhere who does it.

MyLucifrr · 04/09/2019 21:41

Really phones have cameras?

Anyway.

Yes it’s a trend. It’s about how the photos look. Very different to ones taken on a phone.

Yes yes. Everyone is suddenly all about the environment. I mean are any of you even vegan seeing as the meat and dairy industry has one of the biggest impacts on the environment.

OP posts:
laweaselNW · 04/09/2019 21:44

Oh shut up about plastic, please.

ZiggyB · 04/09/2019 21:44

YABU

steff13 · 04/09/2019 21:45

Then why not just buy an SLR camera? Why does it need to be disposable?

CassianAndor · 04/09/2019 21:45

Oh dear oh dear, you sound very childish indeed. And, FWIW, 2 vegetarians in my house (out of 3people), we haven’t been on a plane for 12 years and have a car that has very low emissions so I don’t pay vehicle tax, DH cycles to work, Dd walks to school, I get public transport, I recycle etc etc etc.

Are you really so dim that you think that people who care about the environment don’t walk the walk?

MmmBlowholes · 04/09/2019 21:47

"shut up about plastic"

For fucks sake how selfish and ignorant can you be? Move to the fucking sun.

pinkstripeycat · 04/09/2019 21:47

£8 to get them developed but they just throw the plastic in the bin

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 04/09/2019 21:47

Everyone is all about the environment suddenly as people have been woken up to the fact we are killing the planet.

But hey you go ahead with your craze nobody else has heard off, fuck the planet 🤷‍♀️

Who knew a craze for crap quality photos was approaching to take over from the unicorns, I mean who wants to use the camera phone with you can buy a disposable

Redshoeblueshoe · 04/09/2019 21:47

Is it 1988 ?

SandunesAndRainclouds · 04/09/2019 21:49

I thought the trend was Polaroid, not disposable cameras.

Fridakahlofan · 04/09/2019 21:49

Yabu. More crap for landfill

Beautiful3 · 04/09/2019 21:56

Would a Polaroid not be better as you keep the camera and just replace the film?

Schwibble · 04/09/2019 22:01

OP was asking about disposable cameras and not a lecture about the perils of plastic and saving the environment.

Schwibble · 04/09/2019 22:03

Here, have a medal Hmm

CassianAndor · 04/09/2019 22:09

Why would I want a medal, Schwibble. She asked for posters’ environmental credentials.

TheFaerieQueene · 04/09/2019 22:11

Well yes I’ve been vegan for 30 years. Don’t use bloody disposable cameras.
