I'm wondering what boris is meant to do?

The referendum result was leave .

The EU will not renegotiate but parliament wouldn't back the only deal available.

Now they won't back leaving at all.

The result was leave. Johnson promised to deliver that result.

So what now ?
There is No solution to this fuck up is there?

I know mn is primarily anti leave but for me the result was what it was and should be honoured. How many bites of the cherry should people get?

And not one party agrees with anything anyway. The EU will NOT negotiate so what are the options that the rebel MPs would like ?
Ignore the vote and pretend it didn't happen?

I am so sick of Brexit. David Cameron should be put in the stocks....

Ireland is more important than the rest of the UK.. to the Irish
Christ, you'd have hoped someone so opinionated in Brexit would know what the fucking UK is!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 04/09/2019 16:36

@MaximusHeadroom I see my error there. My intention was to be inclusive of all Irish people.

But hey! You could just have pointed it out, your vituperation seems very much at odds with the content of that post. Or did you misunderstand it and think I have something against Northern Ireland or Ireland?

Or Scotland... or Wales... I suppose you could have assumed that, as I am English! Does that seep through t'internet?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 04/09/2019 16:38

@Bahlindah you too!

WHat is it about my thinking A:: sides have fucked up is so obejctionable?

I made an error, one of inclusion rather than eclusion! The intent in the post as a whole was pretty obvious...

CuriousaboutSamphire · 04/09/2019 16:38

exclusion pah!

Autumnintheair · 04/09/2019 16:44

I don't think anyone who voted leave thought it would be easy.

But leavers I know never thought Parliament would spend 3 years fighting, delaying and obfusticating brexit.

They can continue their games in there but the fact remains, the country voted to leave.
Leavers have not gone away.

Bring on general election.

Alsohuman · 04/09/2019 16:51

But we were told about the sunny uplands ...

Autumnintheair · 04/09/2019 16:52

Emily thornberry on domic Cummings..

'sinister it's all very sinister'

News flash Emily.... Momentum, the huge nasty organisation behind your boss is fucking sinister!!!

How blind can these people be! It's painful!!

Autumnintheair · 04/09/2019 16:53

Parliament working agaisnt the result for three years wasn't factored in.

General election there's no contest with brexit party aligned with tory

Alsohuman · 04/09/2019 16:55

You keep telling yourself that @Autumnintheair.

MaxNormal · 04/09/2019 16:57

How blind can these people be! It's painful!!

I look at the mess Johnson and co are trying to make of the country and think the same thing.

MaximusHeadroom · 04/09/2019 16:58

@CuriousaboutSamphire

Thank you for the clarification.

It is important, but I didn't think you said it out of any anti-Irish sentiment.

MaximusHeadroom · 04/09/2019 17:01

@campion

Ahhh. That's what comes from pretending I am only 29 Blush

Helmetbymidnight · 04/09/2019 17:09

The brexit you were promised is undeliverable

This needs repeating and repeating.

And all the lies of the Leave Campaign. 'The easiest deals, the best deals' need repeating.

I can't understand why people aren't angrier at those lies.

Op, why don't you think holding another referendum is a possibility? Why don't you think re-negotiating a deal is a possibility? Why this pretence that we have to push forwards into a no deal? How do you think that will be good for the country?

EdnaAdaSmith · 04/09/2019 17:15

Does anyone else remember leavers telling them "it's over now, get over it" on the 24th June 2016... They really thought that was that, and it would just happen...

emilybrontescorsett · 04/09/2019 17:19

I actually hope BJ drops down dead.
I have never felt such animosity towards a public figure ever.
I'm also fuming about the waste of money that is HS2.
£88 BILLION for a fucking train.
Seriously.
I'm going to vote against the conservatives and suggest anyone who would rather spend £88 billion on other things does the same.

Not to mention the cost of Brexit.

Working people are being screwed over.

wafflyversatile · 04/09/2019 17:33

You talk as if Johnson is some poor sap who has had a great misfortune visited upon him. He is very much responsible for getting us into this mess with his lies and he put himself forward to be PM out of his own ego, not some act of charity. He knew what the situation was when he threw his hat in the ring. He was arrogant enough to think he'd prevail. He's a cunt and he deserves every humiliation he gets.

MaximusHeadroom · 04/09/2019 17:45

Can I point out that the 2016 Referendum was a second referendum?

We voted in 1975 to join the EU. In 2016 we had a second referendum on our membership because some MPs felt that the people should look at the issue again. People didn't say "you had your vote in 1975. We won so stuck it up"

Now in 2019 a significant number of MPs feel the same about the 2016 referendum as they felt in 2016 about the 1975 referendum.

There is no reason for it being a 41 year gap between the 1st and 2nd referendum apart from the fact that there was no political will to have another referendum. Now there is.

emilybrontescorsett · 04/09/2019 18:13

How on earth can anyone have any respect for a prime minister who's best argument is to call someone ' a chlorinated chicken' ?
Surely when you put him to account he should be able to string an intelligent sentence together about Brexit without resorting to this.
How on earth Jeremy Cornyn didn't reply with " Fuck off you lying, cheating, adulterous cunt! " shows how much restraint Cornyn has.

hellenbackagen · 04/09/2019 18:15

so
if there is a snap GE

if you want to remain you vote for who?

if you want to leave you vote for who?

its all getting a bit too tactical and clever for me. i hate the tories but im also very very pissed off with the rest of them too - the infighting and procrastination and pissing about has made me think they are all just a bunch of self serving arses. corbyn included.

i do believe the result should be honoured (sorry but thats just my opinion - the referendum shouldnt have happened if its result mattered so little)

id still like to see camerons mug in the stocks covered with rotten tomatoes.

OP posts:
CuriousaboutSamphire · 04/09/2019 18:18

After today I am more certain that I'll pick a single issue local candidate and sod party politics for a few years/decades... could be interesting, could hardly be worse!

Helmetbymidnight · 04/09/2019 18:24

why do you want a no deal brexit op?

MaximusHeadroom · 04/09/2019 18:29

@hellenbackagen
"i do believe the result should be honoured (sorry but thats just my opinion - the referendum shouldnt have happened if its result mattered so little)"

You are right there OPGrin

hellenbackagen · 04/09/2019 18:31

why do you want a no deal brexit op?

sorry? why do i want a what? pretty sure i havent said i want no deal. but a good deal would be preferable.
we are being held to ransom which i resent.

OP posts:
CuriousaboutSamphire · 04/09/2019 18:32

why do you want a no deal brexit op? Did she say that @Helmetbymidnight ?

Helmetbymidnight · 04/09/2019 18:34

she didnt- but thats what boris is leading us towards.

shes clarified she doesnt want that. thanks op. only a handful of loons do. so boris needs to look at some alternatives. it is within his power- hes not a passive vessel here.
