If we have a General Election?

How many of you would vote Labour if we had a General Election, just wondering as there have been a few negative comments on here about Labour recently

OP posts:
EssexSexpot · 02/09/2019 13:25

I would vote for whichever party I think had the best chance of getting us out of a no deal Brexit. That probably is labour.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 02/09/2019 13:27

Literally no point in me voting. Like ever. And that pisses me off. We live in such a safe conservative seat that it makes no difference as to who I vote for.

CurryAndCobra · 02/09/2019 13:27

Not a chance. I'd rather vote LibDems (as long as no pact with Labour).

NotDavidTennant · 02/09/2019 13:28

I would, but only because the Lib Dems have no chance where I live.

Graphista · 02/09/2019 13:31

I'd vote labour.

I think I'm perceived as a labour only voter on here but I'm actually a floating voter (admittedly as I wouldn't vote for new labour)

Would NEVER vote Tory though.

RachelEllenR · 02/09/2019 13:33

I'm a floating voter and I'd vote LibDem

PerkingFaintly · 02/09/2019 13:33

Also, how many of you would vote Tory?

SistersOfMerci · 02/09/2019 13:33

I would if necessary because I live in a very safe Tory seat. However Lib Dems will probably be who I will vote for but I've been a floating voter for a few years now.

BlueMoonRising · 02/09/2019 13:33

Snp for me. No point voting Labour here.

Nottobesoldseparately · 02/09/2019 13:36

No.
I would never vote for them. Ever.

PooWillyBumBum · 02/09/2019 13:42

I’m a floating voter in a traditional Tory safe seat. Would vote Green or LibDem if I thought they stood a chance but little by little Labour are finally gaining some ground here (+15% last year and 13% behind Cons) so we’ll be voting Labour simply to help push the Tories out. LibDem and greens only get 2 and 8% respectively so feels a bit futile at the moment although it’s a shame because our local LD candidate is much more vocal about local issues and brexit than any of the others.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 02/09/2019 13:43

I'd vote tactically to not have Tories win.

EssexSexpot · 02/09/2019 13:44

I have never and would never vote for the Tories.

sobeyondthehills · 02/09/2019 13:46

I still have no clue who I would vote for, I know who I wouldn't vote for though, so thats helpful.

It doesn't really matter though as I live in a safe Tory seat. Although having said that, there is a lot of things coming out of the woodwork from our council, which was also Tory till recently, so I am not sure if people would vote against them because of it.

I would find it highly amusing if the Conservatives lost here though, given I live in Gove's constituency

Yogurtcoveredricecake · 02/09/2019 13:50

No. Solidly Labour seat here which means the local MP does exactly fuck all in the area but keeps getting elected. No chance of anyone else getting in either favourable or not.

littlepeas · 02/09/2019 13:52

LibDem. Did last time two times as well (time before - Labour). My constituency switched from Conservative to Labour in the snap election (having switched from Labour to Conservative in Brown/Clegg/Cameron year - 2010? I’ve lost track).

DioneTheDiabolist · 02/09/2019 13:52

The results for my constituency will be interesting. It's been a very safe Sinn Fein seat for decades, but people are well pissed off with them atm.

gingerginger2 · 02/09/2019 13:55

I’d vote for whatever party I need to inorder to throw out the Tory government.

I just hope desperately that the left cooperates and stops the left vote being split.

Stripyhoglets · 02/09/2019 13:56

Yes but if I lived in a place where the libdems had more chance of ousting cons of vote libdem. I want Boris and the cons gone asap. Don't give a toss how it's achieved anymore.

ADUTT7 · 02/09/2019 13:57

Anyone but Labour and Tories

Dollywilde · 02/09/2019 13:59

Used to be a Lib Dem member but I've let it lapse.

If I lived in a marginal I might be tempted to vote Labour. I can't stand Corbyn but he's commited to a second referendum so as far as I can see he's the best bet for getting us out of the current disaster.

As it is I'm actually in a Labour safe seat which would take an enormous swing to topple, so I'd be tempted to vote Lib Dem in the vague hopes that if LDs got a large % of the vote (even if it didn't translate into seats) that it would give some legitimacy to calls to end Brexit.

Basically, I'd rather die than vote Brexit Party or Conservative right now, and the rest is tactics.

Mia1415 · 02/09/2019 13:59

I'm really not sure at the moment. I'm in a safe conservative seat and have previously voted conservative. I used to quite like our MP however, I definitely wouldn't vote Tory now.

I'd probably vote lib dem or green.

If labour had a different leader I'd consider voting for them, but I won't while Corbyn is leader.

YorkshirePuddingsGreatestFan · 02/09/2019 14:01

Vote regardless of the situation around your seat.

If all the people who don't bother voting because they live in a safe seat, actually went out and voted, it could make a difference.

pottedshrimps · 02/09/2019 14:04

I'd rather vote for a dead cat than vote Labour. At least the cat couldn't do any harm.

I wouldn't vote for any of them as it stands, but Momentum's marxist dystopia scares me more than anything.

Unescorted · 02/09/2019 14:04

I am a floating voter in a marginal.... 3 way marginal between Lib Dem, Labour & Tory. I expect to be able to build a Brexit shelter with all the leaflets.

If your are in a safe seat - still make the effort to vote. If everyone did it may surprise you. Ours was very safe for about 30 years and we have had the 3 way split for the last 3 elections.
