Would you book into a hotel for 2 hours just to DTD?

A local ish hotel about 5 miles from where you live as the man is married though separated and living at his parents' and your ex is still living with you?

I didn't know you could actually do this it apparently the Travelodge or premier inn don't bat an eye if you check in at 8pm then out again at 10pm.

I think it's pretty unseemly but maybe I'm just a prude!

They see it all the time haha! Why not book somewhere a bit nicer and stay the night?

Passthecherrycoke · 01/09/2019 12:32

Sure. I wouldn’t actually check out though, just leave and don’t come back

athenagoddessofwar · 01/09/2019 12:32

If you're both free agents, it's nobody's business. I'm sure they see it all the time

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 01/09/2019 12:33

Why not?

It's also possible at most hotels to book a "day rate" so the room is yours 10am-4pm ish.

maybejustmaybeitsme · 01/09/2019 12:36

Secret relationship. Woman is OW that no one knew about.

I didn't know about day rates! Use the pool and facilities kind of thing?

OP posts:
Passthecherrycoke · 01/09/2019 12:38

I don’t think premier inns or travel lodges have pools 🤣 the facilities are usually a vending machine

AdoreTheBeach · 01/09/2019 12:41

I have done this when much younger. Both myself and boyfriend lived with respective parents. We’d go out for the evening for dinner or movie and then go to a hotel. I had a curfew (yes, even in my early 20’s and during my uni years) and he’d drop me back home in good time. No day rates though as these were back in the day before premier inn etc. Most definitely neither of us were married.

inboxmayhem · 01/09/2019 12:41

Done it loads .... who cares

maybejustmaybeitsme · 01/09/2019 12:45

I guess it never crossed my mind that this was an option for illicit sex. You learn something new every day on mumsnet!

Passthecherrycoke · 01/09/2019 12:46

But who would stop you doing it? Of course it’s an option lol!

Hahaha88 · 01/09/2019 12:49

Sounds like the lovely kind of thing a cheat does Hmm

SaveKevin · 01/09/2019 12:49

I did a summer job at a travelodge. Every pension Tuesday this old boy used to come in with a different youngish woman. He’d be in the room for an hour or so, drop the key back to reception saying he wouldn’t need it again today.

TheFatberg · 01/09/2019 12:50

I would for a nap.

YesQueen · 01/09/2019 12:50

They don't mind. I've done it before with posh hotels for photo shoots and left after 3hrs or so

Woodlandwitch · 01/09/2019 12:51

We just used the back seat of my car when we lived with parents Blush

TheGirlWhoLovedTomGordon · 01/09/2019 12:53

Yes you can. I've done it several times. Not in a cheating situation. It's quite fun.

TheGirlWhoLovedTomGordon · 01/09/2019 12:54

@TheFatberg That made me laugh out loud! Grin

Rachelover40 · 01/09/2019 12:54

I might I suppose but would prefer 3 hours or so.

EmmiJay · 01/09/2019 12:57

Only two hours?? Oh darling book at least 5hrs for resting in betweenGrin

mrswx · 01/09/2019 12:59

Why wouldn't you just stay?

Ravenblack · 01/09/2019 13:00

@mrswx

They don't stay as they have their wife/husband to get back to!

PyongyangKipperbang · 01/09/2019 13:00

I almost did this a few weeks ago!

The man I am seeing seperated from his wife months ago but was staying with his parents and only just moved into his flat this week. It was getting a bit....urgent :o Luckily my ex asked to have the kids an extra weekend so we didnt need to!

howrudeforme · 01/09/2019 13:02

I knew an elderly woman who had made her fortune with her hotel but renting rooms by the hour for this exact purpose. This was in the 60s and 70s.

Ravenblack · 01/09/2019 13:03

I know a few people who work at premier inn, and the holiday inn, and this happens at least 3 or 4 times a week. A couple check in at 3pm, and then check out at 6pm. (Or check in at 7pm and check out at 10pm...) They think people won't know. They DO know. They DON'T care.

My friend works in a premier inn, and she saw a man check in with a prostitute some weeks back (the 'call girl' comes in at least once a week with a different man!) and my friend knew the man. He was an old colleague, and is verrrry married. He is also a massive arsehole, and my friend took great pleasure in seeing him squirm. She didn't tell anyone who she saw though; just that it was a bloke she used to know.
