AIBU - my wife tore up my cardboard box and I'm mad as hell

I saved a cardboard box from Lidl which was exactly the right size for the thing I wanted to do. I left it in the porch. It wasn't in anybody's way. I came back to the porch within an hour and my wife had torn it up and put it in the recycling bin. We had a big bustup over this and she won't admit her mistake. She offered me another box from her collection but it wasn't the same size so not as efficient for the thing I'm trying to do. AIBU?

That's really insensitive of her OP. Maybe next time put a post it not saying don't touch or something. How come she gets to have a stash of boxes but you can't have one in the porch?

How big was the box?
How big is the porch?
How many boxes in her collection?
Why are none of her other boxes good enough?
Why does she have a collection of boxes?
What were you going to do with the box?

OP, look on Facebook for local box services. Some do really good deals and you may even find one for free. I advertised my own box collection on there when we were downsizing and they were all gone within the hour.

Meanwhile, chin up. Could you go back to Lidl and get a similar box? If you went now you may even find some dumped out the back. Have you a trusted neighbour who will store it for you?

YANBU if she had merely squashed the box into the recycling bin instead of tearing it up then at least it might have been salvageable unlike your marriage by the sounds of it
