So much love, babe, hun and xxxx on here lately.

I'm getting viper withdrawal.

Am I imagining it?

Thanks in advance x

Can I point out I am not a viper, hun.

I’m a fucking harpy.

MN gives you wings...

CaptureCastles · 31/08/2019 15:31

The kisses at the end of posts irrationally annoys me, I automatically assume things about the poster and judge.

kenandbarbie · 31/08/2019 15:33

I hate the over long sentences and paragraphs.

However, taking the piss out of people on the fertility board for using babydust, af and baby dancing is out of order. They're going through a really hard time. They're posting on their own board about issues affecting them in a way which makes it a bit easier to deal with.

multivac · 31/08/2019 15:36

completely different to

It's 'different from'. God, isn't crappy grammar offensive?

callacuntacunt · 31/08/2019 15:36

I always remember reading Jilly Cooper's "Class" book and she wrote how furious her parents were when a local aristocrat, despite being invited to their house for a couple of dreary sherries and correct conversation, disappeared from their social milieu. They had designs on him for Jilly, I think.

Turns out he was to be found every night at a working class man's (factory owner?) house gambling and drinking all night instead of going to them Grin

As Jilly pointed out,the working classes and the upper classes have more in common than the middle classes have with either - that being they both don't give a damn what other people think about them. Both groups are to be seen very inebriated and shouting in the streets of an evening, acting like they own the place Grin

NoSauce · 31/08/2019 15:36

I’ve not seen auntflo, baby dust and baby dancing for a long time and not really on MN either tbh. I doubt using those phrases makes someone feel better for doing so though.

callacuntacunt · 31/08/2019 15:37

Agree with pp - nothing inherently intelligent about cruelty IMO.

Bookworm4 · 31/08/2019 15:37

@BendyLikeBeckham
If you’re Scottish you don’t casually describe people as Huns, really don’t 🙄

NoSauce · 31/08/2019 15:38

multivac why do you think it’s ok to pull someone up on their grammar?

multivac · 31/08/2019 15:40

As for the poster who says we're all 'just having a laugh': grow up. And find ways to amuse yourself that don't involve shitting on other human beings because of the way they speak and write to each other.

multivac · 31/08/2019 15:40

Have you RTFT, NoSauce?

CaptureCastles · 31/08/2019 15:40

kenandbarbie I'm facing infertility but can catagorically say the baby dancing, Aunt Flo showing her 'face' and tonnes of baby dust (whatever that is, anyway) being thrown about is grating.

What's wrong with saying sex, period and good luck?

Genuine advice and sympathy on the conception/fertility board threads is appreciated, but 'baby dust hunny xxx' can go up the vacuum. It's patronising - even a 'best of luck' is a much better sentiment to offer.

NoSauce · 31/08/2019 15:46

Yes I rtfs. You can’t pick and choose which responses are ok to put down.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 31/08/2019 15:49

WTH is baby dancing?

Crowdo · 31/08/2019 15:55

Baby dancing is a saccharine term for trying to conceive.

Celebelly · 31/08/2019 15:56

Baby dancing is shagging with the intention of creating a baby. It's a horrendous phrase that should never EVER be used EVER Envy (not envy).

multivac · 31/08/2019 15:56

Maybe you should try reading it again. I was making a general point. About hypocrisy.

BendyLikeBeckham · 31/08/2019 15:59

@hunsontherun Grin

@Iboogy no not at all. Nobody should behave like a bitch. I the past I have received the most amazing emotional and practical support here on MN from total non-huns. Hunnery is not the only way to be nice.

You guys need to watch this Wink

ratspeaker · 31/08/2019 16:11

Another Scot here that thought it was about Glasgow last night!
DD was working in Govan yesterday and wondered where all the buses, trains and even taxis had gone
Luckily got home before it really kicked off.

Anyway what did happen on netmums? Did anyone explain?

JacquesHammer · 31/08/2019 16:13

Can’t speak for everyone but they don’t bother me either.

When I was into month 30+ of fertility treatment, a poster sent me a very kind DM including the phrase “babydust”. Is it how I would have expressed myself? No. But how much of a cunt would I have been to sneer at someone trying to be kind.

The “babydust” didn’t work. I still have the message though, because it was such kindness from a stranger at a really shitty time.

astralplaning · 31/08/2019 16:20

the vid even has swearing and the word VIPER. 🤪

hunsontherun · 31/08/2019 16:28
