So much love, babe, hun and xxxx on here lately.

I'm getting viper withdrawal.

Am I imagining it?

Thanks in advance x

Emojis are rendered differently according to platform, what one person sees as a monkey may well look quite like toast elsewhere.

The MN emoticons are platform-independent. And there's no emojis which are as good as Confused and Hmm. Let alone Archers

I love the two separate conversations going on on this thread...those in the West if Scotland....and everyone else 😂💕💕

Crushedvelvetcouch · 31/08/2019 23:15

I like him too, although I admit to our previous aquaintance.

I'm the mother of primary schoolers, he and the huns abound on our school wattsapp group, generally in relation to minor self deprecating parental transgressions.

He's harmless, much like his apparent fan base.

You're now banished to NM

Difficile a ce moment, hun.

Bouffalant · 31/08/2019 23:17

Sorry I forgot the classic hashtags #blessed #makingmemories #thisone #livingmybestlife

LaMarschallin · 31/08/2019 23:18

@SirJamesTalbotAndHisSpeculum

by the way, what is the French and Italian equivalent of "hun"?

Tsk!
You knock around with the Chalet School girls enough to know at least the French version!

(Umm... " 'un "?)

AnAC12UCOinanOCG · 31/08/2019 23:18

The return of the word "hubby/hubs" will force me to bid a fond farewell. It makes my teeth itch.

I can't believe people who use "darling husband" or "dear husband" all over the place are mocking the word "hubby."

Hirsutefirs · 31/08/2019 23:18

U ok Ostrogoth?

SirJamesTalbotAndHisSpeculum · 31/08/2019 23:19

I am definatly/defiantly not going back to Netmums.

SirJamesTalbotAndHisSpeculum · 31/08/2019 23:20

@LaMarshallin

I see.

You don't know either. Tsk, hun.

StockTakeFucks · 31/08/2019 23:22

You're now banished to NM.

Can't. I've been banished from there too,a long time ago when monkeys weren't so commonplace.

PickAChew · 31/08/2019 23:23

I get the beige square, too. Always assumed it was a broken emoji of some sort.

LaMarschallin · 31/08/2019 23:24

You don't know either. Tsk, hun

Ah.

Well, I was excused French on account of an unspecified delicacy of constitution.

So there.

fancytiles · 31/08/2019 23:26

But Errol the dragon is the dragon! 🐉 on whatever platform I think. I like him he's cool 🐉 🐲
How did you do that little red guy?

StockTakeFucks · 31/08/2019 23:30

Your rules are just fine

I have to agree with this.

LaMarschallin · 31/08/2019 23:40

StockTakeFucks

Nice work!

malificent7 · 31/08/2019 23:41

You bunch of snobby cunts!

ErrolTheDragon · 31/08/2019 23:43

Fancytiles - afaik the dragon emoji renders differently, some cooler than others.

https://emojipedia.org/dragon/

Dragon is MN's own - I think she was introduced for St David's day one year but there's quite a lot of dragons on MN so she stayed. (Or he, but in absence of evidence assuming female on MN is the norm)

WorraLiberty · 31/08/2019 23:46

So true! Grin

And darling/dear dog. What the fuck is all that about?

Weezol · 31/08/2019 23:48

thenightsky You are not alone. Even after new specs I still see toast. I like toast. A lot.

I make loads of typos. Some people have dyslexia. Some people haven't had the privilege of a good education. Some people's phone screens are cracked. Some people have crap motor control in their hands. Some people are posting when knackered or emotional. I'm a pedant but I'd like to think that I'm able to understand some people might be bobbins at grammar but would kick my arse at maths (I'm a numbers dolt).

Although it would be really nice if the whole damn world could stop using 'decimate' incorrectly.

NerrSnerr · 31/08/2019 23:53

Oh god DDog and DCat, it's longer than the actual word. Do people think their dog will be offended if they're not classed on Mumsnet as dear or darling?
