How often do you wash your towels?

I wash mine after two goes and I regularly bleach... husband thinks I'm mental? AIBU??

Exactly. They choose how they want to damage the environment in their own way, because it suits them. they don’t get to sit in judgement of others for choosing different ways.

I wash towels after each use and often use the tumble dryer and was called wasteful. However I have reduced my plastic use, I don't eat meat and I buy British where possible amongst many other things which reduce my impact on the environment. I don't judge others who eat meat though for example, I doubt many of us are doing everything we can for the environment which makes many of the judgemental people on here ridiculous.

bluebluezoo · 27/08/2019 12:01

I don’t have white towels anymore, but Milton brings the colour up brilliantly, I use that rather than bleach

You do know Milton and bleach are exactly the same chemical?

Both are sodium hypochlorite (aka chlorine bleach). Read the bottle.

Maybe2020 · 27/08/2019 12:04

@spanglydangly oh shut up!
Your assuming in a housewife because I love to clean and so fucking what if I am!
What has it got to do with you? You sound hateful and bitter.
Why do i care what type of partner you are to your husband? 🤨
Get a grip woman! We’re on about towels not our marriages.

Maybe2020 · 27/08/2019 12:06

@JoxerGoesToStuttgart yeah I’m beginning to see that! People can stick their nose upto me all they want.

Yup!

Orangesox · 27/08/2019 12:07

Probably once a fortnight or less in this house. We each have our own towels, I dry my face with the towel I use to dry my hair so no chance of the clean arse/face contamination that other posters seem to be worried about Grin. They’re hung over the bannisters of the top floor of the house and never smell anything other than clean.

It doesn’t sit right with me to waste water, electricity, pump the waterways full of detergent, bleach (WTF!) etc... to wash and dry a towel that’s simply dried a cleaned body ONCE! Each to their own though... I know plenty of people that would have a conniption about some of the less than ecologically sound things we do practice.

Only every hour? You slattern.

This thread is one of the funniest I have ever seen. How did we have these discussions before the internet. Sharing our domestic habits with strangers. We all think we are normal and love to hear about the extremes of behaviour. I would genuinely love to know how often the daily towel washers , wash their bedding. Serious question!

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 27/08/2019 12:21

What are you going to do with that information?

MonChatEstMagnifique · 27/08/2019 12:23

Being as you asked so nicely and are so interested, I'll tell you....once a week, sometimes every other week. Shock I already 'explained' that I eash towels after each use as I hate them hanging around. The sheets are on the beds so they don't annoy me...😂

moomoomummy · 27/08/2019 12:24

measure my own habits against theirs. Isnt that what we all do?

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 27/08/2019 12:26

isnt that what we all do?

Ah, well you see, some are using it to stick the boot into others and make them feel like shite to make themselves feel superior.

moomoomummy · 27/08/2019 12:27

We should all be kind to each other though. Some pretty full on opinions on this thread .

NoTheresa · 27/08/2019 12:27

Think of the planet, people.

dollybooo · 27/08/2019 12:35

Completely OTT & ridiculous IMO.

Bleaching. Your. Actual. Towels Confused

Mine get used 3/4 times - live with partner.
They are hung up to dry after every use.

You could use vanish OXI action & Daz for whites like I do - bleach will destroy your washer, and destroy the environment.

I buy grey towels so that I don't have the white towel first world problems like you do.

But I do use the vanish oxi action to keep white t shirts white.

MonChatEstMagnifique · 27/08/2019 12:41

We should all be kind to each other though

I agree. But it's kind of funny to see people completely lose it over washing towels. I'm sure most people are very ordinary in their daily lives but some turn into quite something else on here.

I loved the post by JoxerGoesToStuttgart at 10.56 pointing out the total logic fail and contradictions on this thread and feel it deserves a mention. Wink

Nanny0gg · 27/08/2019 12:42

I didn't mention the environment ( I don't think)

I just said that it's wasteful.

And it is.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 27/08/2019 12:43

But I do use the vanish oxi action to keep white t shirts white.

That’s completely OTT and ridiculous. Keeping t-shirts is a very first world problem. The sun keeps white things white. No need to use excessive chemicals and fill the water system with them just for a white t-shirt.

spanglydangly · 27/08/2019 12:44

😂* @spanglydangly says you on about your marriage! Crazy bint.
Not my fault your probably a scruff that can’t cook. *
😂

@Maybe2020 , apart from I presume you're an older person due to the way you view what a good wife is, that comment makes you sound about 15.

I can cook, I'm not a scruff I'm just a normal everyday person whose life doesn't revolve around "wife work" you carry on having your OTT clean spotless house that smells like brand new. You carry on thinking anyone who doesn't come up to your exacting standards isn't an amazing g wife.

Your totally OTT and I would hazard a guess ha e OCD, if anything other than spotless isn't good enough that would stand to reason .

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 27/08/2019 12:44

Keeping t-shirts is a very first world problem.

That should read “Keeping t-shirts white is a very first world problem.”

WeShouldOpenABar · 27/08/2019 12:46

I wash them when I can smell them. I don't really care what anyone thinks about that Grin

Lweji · 27/08/2019 12:49

“Keeping t-shirts white is a very first world problem.”

You don't think people in the third world don't care if their white clothes aren't white?
