AIBU to think this is just fucking insane? Is this how it is going to be from now on? As the parent of a rape victim I feel beyond angry. Is no place safe for women now?

How many of these dudes are hoping to hear description of violent rape?

We know men have been taking advantage of this shot show to abuse women,to sue them,to harass them,to assault them, to rape and sexual assault them, to make them take part in their delusions and fetishes, to target children.

But it's all well and good to have traumatised and vulnerable female victims of rape and sexual assault exposed to them?

Lemon then why are they only asking for transwomen? Why not transmen as well? Or simply transpeople ?

Don't transmen need someone to talk to? Can't transmen offer the same shared experience of being trans and counsel about rape/sexual assault?

Quite frankly it's none of your business, you've taken exception to my posts for no reason, called me insensitive and accused me of gloating, have declined my invitation to quote where I have been any of these things to allow me to apologise if I have been (when I know I absolutely haven't) and now you're requesting personal details of my child so you can decide if they were worthy enough of being in the refuge alongside me.

I have been nothing but kind to you, but you DO NOT get to decide if my child should be safe or not based on how you feel about their situation, you know nothing about our reasons for having to be there, or what we suffered before, or since our time there.

I am genuinely sorry that you are in the situation that you are in, and I do hope things get better for you soon, but it's not the fault of either me or my child.

The “kill terfs” on a rape crisis window is just horrific. Protests and laws in the US about abortion clinics, abuse written on windows of a rape centre. There will be no safe spaces within 5 years. The attacks seem to be coming from all areas of society.

As for instructing us to call, that's appalling. The MPA in question knows that women will not waste a rape counselor's time by phoning to make a point in an online debate; whilst the questioner is on the line, rape victims cannot get through

I wonder if that was the intention? To persuade feminists to tie up a rape centre's phone line and staff and so impair that service? MPAs have made nuisance calls to refuges before.

not sure about having CCTV as this would be a sensitive area that could make women entering nervous especially those wanting total confidentiality.

I still do not get why Stonewallvcan't use some of its vast resources to support abused members of the LGBT+ community.

What about trans men (that usually silences discussion, sadly). Yes, they are female but would a trans man who'd spent years on T with a beard fit into a woman's shelter? Or female only taoe crisis centre?

I think Stonewall should out it's money where it's mouth is and provide for people who need help.

Yup. They have the cash and the experience and the staff to set up a trans sexual violence crisis service and do so quickly.

Much as I don't totally 'get' the ideas around non-binary, although do understand it to some degree, I do think the existance of non-binary people does prove an interesting factor in providing adequate support for all people.

If Stonewall isn't interested in providing for or lobbying for third spaces where do Stonewall think nom-binary people should go for support?

I think most of Stonewall's budget goes on the Glitter and Sparkly Things line item.

It goes against stonewalls “acceptance without exception “, whilst they may set up a support group for LGBT this would be alongside trans also having access in all capacities in female spaces.
