To let him in

Really could do with an outsiders perspective.
Split with husband 8 months ago due to his alcoholism and abusive behaviour.
I've had a couple of one night stands since, I've been talking to this guy for over a month, met on bumble. He travels a lot for work, I missed meeting up with him last time he was back but he's home tomorrow and has asked to come to my house when he arrives at 2am.
Is this unreasonable?
I've never done this before, someone to turn up to my house for sex, should I offer him a drink or do we get straight down to business!?
The previous one night stands were with people I already knew.
This feels like a completely different ball game.
Also do I let him stay over or ask him to leave... or am I completely out of my depth here?

I wouldn't at 2am. You'd be vulnerable at that time if you were uncomfortable.

MmmBlowholes · 23/08/2019 22:36

If you've never met him before then absolutely not!!

timshelthechoice · 23/08/2019 22:36

There's no way I'd let some guy I didn't know well into my home. REALLY hope your kids aren't in there.

LucieFurr · 23/08/2019 22:37

Bloody hell. Can't you see how dangerous this could be?

TokyoSushi · 23/08/2019 22:37

Absolutely no way, please do not do this!!

BEDinhalfanhour · 23/08/2019 22:38

No. Not even in broad daylight.

Dontlikeoranges · 23/08/2019 22:38

Ok, I'm definitely not averse to meeting up with someone just for the purposes of sex and have indeed done so, so no pearl clutching here but this is BONKERS.

Don't do this if you don't like him/seems weird/you don't gel whatever - you're stuck with trying to get rid of someone at 2am who you have no idea how they will react at 2am in the morning

TheMistressQuickly · 23/08/2019 22:39

I wouldn’t. I think letting someone who is fairly unknown to you at that time of the night leaves you very vulnerable.

3LoudBoys · 23/08/2019 22:39

What if you don't like him in real life? Alot of pressure to go through with something at 2:00am. I don't think it is a good idea.

LaurieFairyCake · 23/08/2019 22:40

Yes that's utterly insane. You don't know him.

What if you don't fancy him? What if he turns up with others - this has happened to someone Sad

MRex · 23/08/2019 22:40

That's a stupid idea. Meet anybody you don't know in a safe public location only.

Zebraaa · 23/08/2019 22:41

This is insane!

minibroncs · 23/08/2019 22:41

Um... Www.freedomprogramme.co.uk

I think maybe you should get a bit of support on healthy relationships, boundaries, and your own self esteem and assertiveness before you delve into this.

8 months free of abuse is not very long, and your sense of what is normal and safe seems a little off.

Zebraaa · 23/08/2019 22:42

You have no idea if he even is who he says he is!

NoSauce · 23/08/2019 22:42

Not a chance in hell. Wake up and think about what you’re saying here.

user1473878824 · 23/08/2019 22:43

OP, no!!!!!

Skittlenommer · 23/08/2019 22:47

A) This doesn’t sound safe!! Please reconsider!!

B) Also do I let him stay over or ask him to leave If you go through with it then hell no!! Unless it’s great and you want to play with him again in the morning! Wink

Windygate · 23/08/2019 22:47

Do you have no self respect?

elephantoverthehill · 23/08/2019 22:49

He is not showing any respect to you, most people are sound asleep at that time. Why would you?

PumpkinP · 23/08/2019 22:50

Is this real?! Shock

CherrySocks · 23/08/2019 22:59

No, you should not let a complete stranger into your home at 2am.

You shouldn't even give him your address.

Drum2018 · 23/08/2019 23:04

No. Way. Jesus, we teach our kids about meeting up with strangers online and here you are thinking of allowing some stranger to come to your house in the middle of the night for sex? Have some sense and do not give him your address.

PumpkinP · 23/08/2019 23:05

Hope no kids will be at home!!

Skittlenommer · 23/08/2019 23:53

Nothing wrong with a booty call and it’s certainly nothing to do with a lack of self-respect! Women can get theirs just as a man can!

However, he could be anybody OP. You’ve never met him and it’s a very risky move. Perhaps meet him publicly (with a friend watching nearby) and once you’ve gotten to know him better then, if you’re still up for it, you can have all the 2am fun you want!

If you’re wanting to DTD why not invite one of the other guys over you know?

PumpkinP · 23/08/2019 23:58

I don’t think people are judging the op for having a “booty call” more the fact she wants to let a stranger into her home at 2am for sex! At least meet up with him before hand during the day in a public place so you know he is who he says he is.
