I've tried

Lucifer- didn't like it
Stranger Things - loved it
Handmaid's tale - amazing
The Good Place - probably love it too much
Poldark - Aiden Turner is my perfect man, so may be biased, but so good
Being Human - see above
Shameless - lol
House - one of my favourites and one I go back to
GOT - the ending though?
The Kominsky Method - very well done
The OA - amazing
That one with Richard Gere - pah, dragged out

I'm sure there's tons more, but I need some inspiration. I do like a bit of action and drama.

For AIBU purposes, AIBU to ask for inspiration (here for the traffic as I want to start now).

We enjoyed:

Mindhunter

Impossible

Travellers

Lillyhammer - so bad it was good

ER. Admittedly its something of a long-term commitment, as there's so much of it, but it was the first hospital drama. Currently on E4.

Sharpe's Rifles. Sean Bean swashbuckling his way through the Napoleonic wars.

Black Books.

Preacher is brilliant

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 24/12/2019 21:00

I liked iZombie, white collar and How to get away with murder, all detecting crime related

Sexnotgender · 24/12/2019 21:00

The morning show

Unbelievable is excellent. It’s a difficult subject but handled extremely well.

Pintsizedblondie197 · 24/12/2019 22:27

The Witcher!

Whoever recommended Fargo earlier in the thread you have all my thanks.
Absolutely brilliant, even better an BB, Better Call Saul, This is us, six feet under, OITNB

Ozark on Netflix is very good. I'm waiting impatiently for season 3 which should have aired by now because it's been 12months since the end of season 2. Fingers crossed it will be released in 2020.

Try LOST ..thats my fav of all time!!

hellcarryingahandbag · 25/12/2019 15:31

Dynasty remake on Netflix or Wentworth Prison (it’s online)

PettyContractor · 25/12/2019 15:53

"Breaking Bad" is my all-time favourite.
"The Wire" second.

"Fargo" mentioned above is obviously good, had forgotten that.

"Patrick Melrose" gets a vote.

"The Last Kingdom" is a bit like high-brow GOT, it feels like you're learning some history while people murder each other with swords.

"Chernobyl" is the one from this year I try to convince everyone to watch. "The Looming Tower" definitely worth it, as something else based on real life events. For a third in that category that's a bit less apocalyptic in subject matter, "Unbelievable" on Netflix.

PettyContractor · 25/12/2019 16:03

Looking through other people's list, "The night of" and "Mad Men" are two series I should also have mentioned.

"The night of" is a really haunting American remake of what was apparently originally a UK crime drama.

"Mad Men" is an amazing high-quality recreation of a different time and place, I can watch it for just the period detail, the actual plot/drama is almost secondary.

Cactuar · 25/12/2019 16:16

Definitely The Boys and also the Witcher if you love a bit of sword and sorcery

PettyContractor · 25/12/2019 16:27

"The Americans" is probably one of the best series most people haven't seen. (Russian spy family living in early 80's USA.)

GLOW (Netflix)
