It may be deserved in some cases, however it would seem the gloves are off as far as the media are concerned. They have lived high on the hog for centuries so what is new?

Fergie is obviously useful as a back up when andrew needs pulled out a tight hole and she's more than happy to keep the pretence up as it keeps her in the lifestyle she likes. I wouldn't worry about Meghan and Harry. Worry about the one who apparently cheated on his wife. While some are going wild hating their relationship, they seem happy to turn a blind eye to the real sad story that's behind the Palace walls.

Live reasonably well by the standards of normal people? Sure.

Live reasonably well, if 'reasonably well' means private jets and custom Givenchy? Nope. Or certainly not for very long. Harry is fairly poor by rich people standards, and much of his money is likely held down in trusts or other funds. If he were to sever connections with the royals, as he'd likely have to be if he bunked off to Los Angeles, he'd lose not only the one thing which makes him and Meghan interesting, but also the main source of his funds.

Which is why I really don't think it's going to happen. And why would it? From what I can see, they seem to be getting away with all sorts of behaviour more fitting of tacky celebs than public servants (which is what the royals are meant to be), while still benefitting from all the many perks of their royal status. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal. Not even Harry is thick enough to trade that in for fighting it out in the celebrity marketplace with sundry Kardashians and whatever wannabes the future throws up.

I think Meghan did target Harry, she did a couple of humanitarian trips (India & Rwanda). She definitely did her prep before they started seriously dating; to make sure she had the right profile for him.

This trip,to Rwanda was in October 2016 2 months after she met Harry and she blogged about it on the Tig.

She has morphed herself into the perfect woman for Harry. Before she was into food, travel, fashion. Her blog was a version of Goop.

She is clever and knows exactly how to get what she wants. The B list actress Meghan Markle could never of dreamt of having 8 million Instagram followers, editing Vogue, mixing with Alisters.

Likewise Harry was managed by William’s team; the Kensington Palace «grey men». Now the Sussexes have their own team; there is no one to tell them to tone it down. Hence Harry ( not the brightest spark) lecturing on the climate then jumping on private jets.
They both have access to the A list Celebrity world and the RF endless privilege solely due to their unearned Titles.
Meghan is making sure their profile in the US is maintained, so that they can live in North America; I suspect for extended periods. They will never relinquish their titles because that’s their golden ticket.

Of course Harry would never give up his royal status, they royals all stick together, they know there's safety in numbers.

Remembering that she barely knew Harry before marrying him and taking on a wholly alien lifestyle - something for which I largely blame him - it might even be seen as a good trade-off for just three years of effort

I don't care that Harry and Meghan cares or doesn't care about me. But the lot of you who belly ache about what they do or don't do surely care to the point where it's ridiculous and embarrassing. One other thing: do you seriously think that Harry and Meghan did not expect or think about the fact that some people would hate their union with a passion? They saw it even before they got married.

They went in with their eyes wide open knowing there are people like some of you out there. Do you seriously think they are surprised by the hate? Please, some of you are kidding yourselves to think the Palace was not expecting this. They just keep showing time and time again that they are not going to bow to ludicrous hatred.

Meghan has a high handed and dismissive attitude towards normal British people and has no real interest in them.

What, like the women who run the Hubb kitchen @Ibiza2015? Or the women who use Smartworks? Or the sex workers One25 help out? Yes the banana writing was cringe but it resulted in a massive increase in donations for the charity.

It’s not the media, it’s the readers. Any negative story on Meghan gets thousands of hate comments (on Mail online) compared to their other stories which get a few hundred.

Which in turn means more money from advertising (as it’s clearly getting more clicks)

I am not a Royalist. Never was and never will be but the constant whinging by some about Harry and Meghan amuses me and 8 can't help but wonder what benefit is there to the people who whinge yet find that no one cares, certainly not the Queen nor Harry or Meghan. Worse, the one who is held up as all things nice and honourable is up to no good with his wife's best friend. History will tell us all about it and we'll see who has the last laugh.

I will just say that they need to shut up about climate change. Pick any cause apart from that one to talk about. They are making themselves a target when their carbon footprint is probably 1000x worse than the average persons. It just makes them come across as morons.
