AIBU to be annoyed with dh?

He has taken dc to captain candy in Dubrovnik Croatia which is essentially a pick n mix place. He bought three bags of sweets and it came to £99.

The price is unclear and it is a tourist trap.

If anyone goes to captain candy please avoid.

I'm so happy you told us. No intentions of going there but I hope they find out that we all know that they are greedy buggers.

I just googled the place out of interest and the reviews are terrible!

I think the only people who can see the photos are pink and the op, apart from the weird angle one.

I can see the picture you posted at 22.59, OP (the view from above, looking into the bag), but I can't see the ones you posted first (or pink's reposting of them!)

You should get a trolly in Poundland fill it with 99 packs of sweets and make your husband put it all back on the shelf, so he knows what £99 of sweets looks like

The exchange trap consists of tourists not knowing exactly how many kunas you get per pound. As the exchange is somewhere in the region of 8:1, they round down the kunas, round up the exchange rate and round up the price so you get 5:1 at best and say, if price was 23.99, they round it up to 30 kunas, so at "tourist exchange rate" you'd pay £6, extra rounded up to £10 for what would normally be £3. They pay the tax on the nominal £3 and keep the rest. Plus they add what they call "stupidity percentage" counting on you being too much in a touristy mode to complain, so it's very easy to see how the DH got ripped. And they would never do it to anyone speaking Croatian, as locals would report them straight away.

We went in a beautiful Japanese sweet shop called Minamoto Kitchoan in London and paid £18 for 4 SWEETS not 4 bags, 4 INDIVIDUAL SWEETS! Were lovely to look at though (not so much to eat!)

WOW!! 3 half bags of sweets for £100

When my DS was in for an operation DH took me to Lush and told me to buy whatever I wanted. Being modest, I bought a smallish bar of soap. It came in at almost £25

So glad others can see them too, thought I was going crazy for a minute.
