………. and wide awake, as I am?

I am bored with trawling through MN to occupy myself.

AIBU to ask anyone else with insomnia to talk to me?

OP posts:
Jemima232 · 11/08/2019 04:14

I could always talk to myself, I suppose.

DH is fast asleep and snoring away in the bedroom.

Pah.

Thank you for telling me I'm not BU.

I'm feeding baby... Grin

Zeusthemoose · 11/08/2019 04:18

Yep wide awake. Ds having bday sleepover - boys will not shut up! Debating whether to snap and turn into hulk mother.

Wherearemycrayons · 11/08/2019 04:18

Oh my, I’m doing the same. My baby hasn’t slept for about a week, sleeping perfectly tonight and I’ve got insomnia because of my massive head cold 🤦🏻‍♀️

Alicewond · 11/08/2019 04:19

What would you like to talk about OP?

Jemima232 · 11/08/2019 04:19

Both cats are bewildered at finding me sitting on the sofa.

They obviously think it's morning and are wandering around expecting me to feed them. One is scratching the coffee table to get my attention.

I'm up! It's 6:20 here in Cyprus and we are going to a bbq for lunch so of course I'm wide awake while dh and dc1 and dc2 snore away happily!

Jemima232 · 11/08/2019 04:21

What would you like to talk about OP

Heavens.

The plot for my next seven-volume novel, maybe?

OP posts:
Jemima232 · 11/08/2019 04:22

Wherearemycrayons

Isn't that typical of babies. The one night they sleep through, you can't.

OP posts:
Jemima232 · 11/08/2019 04:24

@Leafy2018

You're feeding the baby? At least that's a valid reason for being awake.

Will you go back to sleep afterwards? Does your baby always wake at this time? How old is the baby? Are you breastfeeding or bottlefeeding? What brand of nappies does the baby like? Is the earth flat?

OP posts:
Alicewond · 11/08/2019 04:25

@Jemima232 I would suggest dragons, witches, Australians and dancing sheep

Jemima232 · 11/08/2019 04:27

@Alicewond

Thank you for your useful suggestions.

Unfortunately I used all of them as plot-lines in my last seven-volume novel.

Shall I make a piece of toast?

OP posts:
Alicewond · 11/08/2019 04:30

No toast is too boring, fry an egg! Maybe I’m here to guide you to greatness:P

Jemima232 · 11/08/2019 04:32

@Alicewond

How about I give it large and make a slice of toast and a fried egg?

Or (thinking outside the box here) I could fry two eggs.

Jemima232 · 11/08/2019 04:33

……. and make two slices of toast...…..

LuckyLou7 · 11/08/2019 04:36

I'm awake. Wide awake. I'm working the night shift and it's my break. I'm considering eating a posh pot noodle but I'm not really hungry. Between 4 and 5 Is the worst time working nights.

Ispywithmycynicaleye · 11/08/2019 04:37

I've just fed my 5 week old, but she is refusing to part with her last bit of wind so we are both sitting on the couch too. I'm thinking she just wants a back rub 😏

Oooh toast sounds lovely! You totally should! I cant tho, I'm on a strict diet for the foreseeable ☹

LeslieYep · 11/08/2019 04:38

An old colleague of mine used to ask for a fried egg, well done, then eat it on toast spread with us jam.

We thought she was insane, she said it was amazing.
Do you fancy stepping that far outside the box?!

LittleRedSocks · 11/08/2019 04:38

Morning night owls! I’m awake - ooh fried eggs and toast...rasher too?! my reason I’m awake is I woke then started thinking of the pregnancy test I want to take in the morning and of course I can’t sleep now! No way am I getting out of bed and giving in until 7am. What are the chances of us all falling back asleep (apart from the poster in Cyprus - lucky you!) x

Alicewond · 11/08/2019 04:39

Where can I read your last seven volume novel, I do love Australian sheep, magic dragon tales :)

Mybobowler · 11/08/2019 04:41

I'm awake, also feeding my baby. And now have a craving for fried eggs on toast...

LittleRedSocks · 11/08/2019 04:41

@Ispywithmycynicaleye 5 weeks is far too early to be dieting lovely, you need all the energy you can get mama!

Also egg with jam...literally cannot talk about that! 🤢

LeslieYep · 11/08/2019 04:41

Err, just jam. Don't know where the us came from!

I'm awake feeding my 6 week old, but she's passed out on my shoulder while winding.

Have her big sister's knees in my thigh too, just to make sure I'm not too comfy.
