I'm awake feeding 3 week old DD. Shocked to be breast feeding this one after my DS was a nightmare to feed. She is always so far awake at 4.30am but this time. I'm so tired.

I know all about night shifts. I'm probably awake because I've done a bazillion years of shift work.

I desperately want fried eggs on toast now. To the power of eighty.

Not with jam though. Seriously not with jam.

Yep also got a baby on the boob but I'm still in bed. DP just changed her sideways poo explosion nappy and now he's asleep again.

Jeez - a third cat has just appeared in my sitting room.

We only have two cats so the third must have come in through the window.

8.47 pm here. DH falling asleep but he’s been busy all day with DIY stuff and cleaning. I’m wide awake watching the sunset.

Trying to decide if I should set up another you tube session with my favourite meditation/ wind down person.

@LittleRedSocks I know, but I had a complicated emergency c-section and the wound since has had 2 infections and keeps opening up (it was glued). I'm currently sitting here with an eye-wateringly stingy 2cm hole which I'm blaming my belly overhang for it not healing - hence the strict diet 😭

However, I am enjoying reading about toast, fried eggs and jam 🤤😂

The sun is coming up,the chickens are squawking and I have a lemon drizzle cake in the oven. Cats are complaining at me-I've fed then but haven't yet put out the dog food (which they prefer) so they are feeling hard done by!

DD wouldn't go on less favoured boob, managed to get her on in the end and am wide awake. Going to listen to the archers and think about eggs on toast.

Seriously though I don't know why I'm awake but it seems to happen most nights, between 4-5am my eyes just ping open.
Then I'll spend ages getting back to sleep just to be woken at 7 by my kids who are more than old/capable enough to get their own breakfast Hmm uggggghhh

I'm an hour later than everyone at home but I've got a wide awake baby rolling around my bed playing with his feet and his dummy whilst 'D'H sleeps in another room. Probably until 11. So I'm already feeling pissed off with the day. Apart from how cute said baby is being 😊

Not fancying fried eggs and toast though because I hate eggs but would looooooooovvvve a giant frothy creamy milky hot cappuccino!!

DP just came downstairs after waking with a stomach ache and said he can't get back to sleep so he'll take over the baby duties and I can go back to bed yayyy!

Poor DP, he is driving him and his friends 3 hours to a football match tomorrow morning but he insisted I go back to bed 🥰

So here I am, all tucked up and cozy.... drifting off and dreaming of toast and soft runny fried eggs... 😴

I'm awake because I just broke up with my bf (again, yawn) and am angry and writing down all the reasons why it's the best thing for me. Dd has been out, got home about an hour ago and brought two friends with her, they've only just stopped talking and giggling. Hopefully all will be quiet now and maybe eventually I'll calm down and go to sleep. I have got a sleepy cat on my lap though (I'm laid on the sofa).
