Just that really...

Agree - it all seems very convenient for the powerful people he could have named 🤷🏼‍♀️

ballsdeep · 10/08/2019 18:08

Just read about it. I agree. And a few weeks ago he was caught in a fetal position in his cell...... They didn't know if was an attempt on his life by someone or himself

Totally agree.
The FBI have opened an investigation so I don't think we are the only ones.

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 10/08/2019 18:18

No way that was suicide!

Sexnotgender · 10/08/2019 18:19

By unlikely do you mean somebody offed him or they’ve faked his death?

Either way it’s very convenient.

Secretmeerjng · 10/08/2019 18:20

@Sexnotgender. I’m thinking either tbh!

Helpfindme · 10/08/2019 18:21

I can't believe they weren't watching him more closely!

I don't think it was suicide.

I'm hoping he is now in witness protection for a while and this is fake.

lilmishap · 10/08/2019 18:21

It's much more likely than Epstein deciding to tell the truth which would likely include EITHER grassing up all the dirty beggars that would/could help him out (to keep him quiet about their own sheenanigans) or NOT grassing everyone up and accepting all responsibility/naming no one which means having no leverage.
Option C was keep denying everything, which he must have known was getting less successful every day as more people he'd likely forgotten about kept coming out of the woodwork with horror stories about him.
Men like that kill themselves because it's easier than facing consequences they can't control

shockthemonkey · 10/08/2019 18:21

May or may not have been suicide. At best the prison was grossly negligent not putting him on suicide watch.

I too am gutted that as a result of his very convenient demise, other sleazebags will now be off the hook

SummerInTheVillage · 10/08/2019 18:22

I think it was definitely suicide. He knew what was coming and didn't have the guts to face a trial.

Happens on a weekly basis in prisons. Daft to look for conspiracies.

ComeOnGordon · 10/08/2019 18:23

Not since David Kelly “killed himself” have I instantly thought that there was something very fishy about a suicide. The man was about to bring down so many people with his trial and under suicide watch he kills himself 🤔🤔 hope the lawyers who are prosecuting on behalf of the young women who were abused by these powerful men keep going

Sexnotgender · 10/08/2019 18:23

At best the prison was grossly negligent not putting him on suicide watch.

He was on suicide watch I think? He tried 2 weeks ago apparently.

ZorbaTheHoarder · 10/08/2019 18:24

I think that it is in fact quite likely that he killed himself, because he simply couldn't face the prospect of spending the rest of his life in jail.

He also knew that his millions were not going to get him off the hook this time...

On the other hand, it is also possible that some of his rich and powerful friends didn't want him spilling the beans on them...

BlackberryBeret · 10/08/2019 18:30

No way would he have killed himself at this point - it was too early - not a man like that.

He hadn't even had a trial and was very wealthy + hugely assisted we can guess by the amount of dirt he had on powerful people. He was in a very good position for ultimately either getting off totally or a strong behind the scenes plea bargain. He would retain the very best lawyers and it's not that difficult to imagine they would have a real shot at undermining the credibility of the victims - enough at least to give him hope that he might not be convicted. Weirder stuff has happened - look at OJ.

If he was early days of a 30 year prison sentence, appeals exhausted maybe but not now. It makes no sense.

MyOtherProfile · 10/08/2019 18:32

I'm sure he was on suicide watch after being found unconscious in his cell 2 weeks ago.

BlackberryBeret · 10/08/2019 18:32

Talking about the trial he was awaiting btw - not his first trial for which he got something like 18 months

SexFarmWoman · 10/08/2019 18:33

I can see why many will be suspicious but actually I think he was a prime candidate for suicide.

He was a vile manipulator, used to getting his own way from a position of wealth and power. Knowing that was gone, that his world was about to come crashing down around him, dragging many of his influential 'friends' down with him and knowing that he had literally used up his get out of jail free card, I think he did what most cowardly people would do.

BlackberryBeret · 10/08/2019 18:35

On July 23, Epstein was found injured and semiconscious at 1:30 a.m. on the floor of his cell, with marks around his neck that were suspected to be from a suicide attempt or an assault. His cellmate, former New York City police officer Nicholas Tartaglione, who is charged with four counts of murder, was questioned about Epstein's condition. He denied knowledge of what happened. Epstein said he recollected nothing. According to NBC News, two sources said that Epstein might have tried to hang himself a third said the injuries were not serious and could have been staged, while a fourth source said that an assault by his cellmate had not been ruled out

ballsdeep · 10/08/2019 18:40

Sorry to sound uneducated in this but was he a rich person who basically trafficked young girls for sex with rich men?!

HoneyBeeHappy · 10/08/2019 18:42

I think it’s actually far more likely that he killed himself rather than that he was killed.

People like him are cowards. He didn’t stand to gain anything by outing others, he was going down for a long time regardless and those others would have their own legal means. After all, just because someone names someone else doesn’t mean that someone else is going to be brought to justice.

Those in his circle were already known to be associates of his, I imagine the investigations would already have looked at those.

VenusTiger · 10/08/2019 18:45

@SexFarmWoman but where was the suicide watch after the first attempt? It is clear that someone didn’t want justice for the victims. Silencing him was easier.

Doobydoo · 10/08/2019 18:47

Exceedingly dodgy..not surprising though. I do think The Firm should make a statement re Andrew..as we pay for them.it is in the Publics interest....that and his Arms dealing. The whole thing stinks.

Lepetitpiggy · 10/08/2019 18:48

But (excuse me if I'm being a bit slow) as the papers are all open and name names, surely the perpetrators will be known, and brought to justice anyway?

BlackberryBeret · 10/08/2019 18:49

This was a man who had been convicted already of procuring a girl under 18. Read the wikipedia page about how -even then - he was treated like a special . It's amazing how extreme wealth sorts out everything. I still say - looking at this - suicide at this point prior to a second trial was very unlikely. If he'd got film footage of powerful men having sex in his home with minors, there are highly motivated people here

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_Epstein

On June 30, 2008, after Epstein pleaded guilty to a state charge (one of two) of procuring for prostitution a girl below age 18,[78] he was sentenced to 18 months in prison. While most convicted sex offenders in Florida are sent to state prison, Epstein was instead housed in a private wing of the Palm Beach County Stockade and, according to the sheriff's Office, was after 3 1⁄2 months allowed to leave the jail on "work release" for up to 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. This contravened the sheriff's own policies requiring a maximum remaining sentence of 10 months and making sex offenders ineligible for the privilege. He was allowed to come and go outside of specified release hours.

Epstein's cell door was left unlocked and he had access to the attorney room where a TV was installed for him, before he was moved to the stockade's previously unstaffed infirmary. He worked at the office of a foundation he had created shortly before reporting to jail; he dissolved it after he had served his time. The Sheriff's Office received $128,000 from Epsteins's non-profit to pay for the costs of extra services being provided during his work release. His office was monitored by "permit deputies" whose overtime was paid by Epstein. They were required to wear suits, checked in "welcomed guests" at the "front desk". Later the Sheriff's Office said these guest logs were destroyed per the department's "records retention" rules (although inexplicably the Stockade visitor logs were not).[80] He was allowed to use his own driver to drive him between jail and his office and other appointments.

Epstein served almost 13 months before being released for a year of probation on house arrest until August 2010. While on probation he was allowed numerous trips on his corporate jet to his residences in Manhattan and the U.S. Virgin Islands. He was allowed long shopping trips and to walk around Palm Beach "for exercise
