Do you shave every day?? My legs are hairy, my armpits are hairy, my hands are hairy. Not lots, but enough to make me feel conscious. I’m busy with a housemove so no time to wax. I’m so fed up! Eyebrows need attention too. I get them threaded, but can’t go for atleast 2 weeks.

How do people manage to look so presentable all the time???

In all honesty I can’t remember the last time I shaved/waxed my legs Blush 34 weeks pregnant with baby number 3, and it just seems like waaaaaay too much effort.
I shave my armpits every few days, and have a very close friend who is a beautician, so she comes to my house and waxes the lady garden bare every 5-6 weeks.

dollydaydream114 · 09/08/2019 20:10

I’ve got pale skin and dark hair so every speck of stubble is noticeable. In winter I’m not so bothered but in summer I shave my legs and under my arms every other day. Minge just gets left au naturel.

I pluck my eyebrows myself to tidy them up. I’m fussy about the shape and I won’t let anyone near them.

BinkySodPlop · 09/08/2019 20:13

A Silk'n Sensepil. From Amazon a few years ago. Think it's probably similar to the Philips mentioned previously - a home laser machine. I have the "right" skin/hair for it and find it's brilliant. No underarm hair at all anymore, other areas are under control. Quick swipe with a razor for the places I don't want it permanently removed.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 09/08/2019 20:13

I do legs and pits once a week. I’m dark haired but can get away with it. I do my own brows and bleach my tash every couple of weeks. Low maintenance Wink I’d never let hot wax anywhere near my body!

Beautiful3 · 09/08/2019 20:14

I'm blonde so only need to shave once a week. I only ever shave my bikini line when I go swimming, because no body's got time for that!

whodis · 09/08/2019 20:15

SC2006 is the latest equivalent of the one I got from Amazon.

adaline · 09/08/2019 20:19

I shave daily in the shower - takes two minutes max.

legolimb · 09/08/2019 20:19

I had bikini line and armpits lasered years ago.

I get a few fine hairs growing back but nothing noticable. I tend to just run over them with my epilator if going on hols or whatever.

Legs I tend to leave most of the winter - then in summer just shave in the shower as and when necessary.

bethankfulforwhatyouhave · 09/08/2019 20:20

@neverender, what do you do with your sideburns? I have sideburns, baby hair that has never gone away, what do you do? Mine make me really self conscious, do they grow back once you shave them? Sorry for the thick questions, they have given me so much anxiety over the years

Batshittery · 09/08/2019 20:21

@PinkDaydreams I recently bought the Lumea Prestige. I bought it from Phillips website. By signing up to emails, I got a discount of 15%.

BeardedMum · 09/08/2019 20:22

To be honest I don’t really care. I do try to make an effort but I figure I never notice hair on other people or study other people’s body so other people hopefully don’t study mine either. And if they do I don’t really care either🤷🏻‍♀️

Beautiful3 · 09/08/2019 20:26

For those of you who have the Phillips lumea, does it work on blonde hair?

takesnoshitfromanyone · 09/08/2019 20:26

i shave nothing and i have thick jet black hair everywhere

few reasons why not
1 i have severe PCOS and the regrowth is very very quick so i dont bother as i also have 35 inch legs(im 6ft) and it sounds silly but i cant reach as legs are either to long or my boobs are to big and get in the way(J/K cup).i havent shaved in well over 20 years,i used to as a teenager but it would come back thick and very quick within half a day so i stopped bothering,i dont wear dresses or skirts and i dont wear sleavless tops,i have always gone swimming though

2 i believe that i shouldn't have to just because im a woman

Batshittery · 09/08/2019 20:29

Beautiful It won't work on light blond, grey or white hair. Nor does it work on red hair.

WalkAwaySugarbear · 09/08/2019 20:31

Echoing all the Lumea users, I splashed out a few years ago as facial hair was my biggest problem, now that's taken care of I moved onto my body hair. I use it rarely nowadays but I do shave the odd hairs that are left but only every 2 weeks which is amazing given how dark my hair is.

timshelthechoice · 09/08/2019 20:33

Phillips Lumea! I had a lot of dark body hair and very light skin. I got a higher-end one and used it on my face, too, except round my eyes. I have my brows threaded and I make time to go every 3 weeks. I didn't like all that hair even as a child.

LaMainDeFatima · 09/08/2019 20:36

Which Lumea do people recommend ? Is there a certain model . There seems a big price difference between models (from £200 to £500) so want to check which one people recommend

shazchip · 09/08/2019 20:36
  • Armpits I've been having lasered for years, sooooo worth it. For some reason it's never been permanent on me but only have an appointment once every couple of months and no removal in between, amazing
  • Face (eyebrows, upper lip, chin) I get threaded about once a month, in between pluck strays every week or so
  • Legs have been epilating regularly for about 10 years now, my hairs have become pretty sparse and i don't really find it painful anymore so i just do a quick 10 mins every couple of weeks. Lower leg only. Don't bother with upper leg, rarely show them anyway other than when in swimwear

Interesting to hear positives about the Lumea, I might have to invest for my underarms!

Hollyhobbi · 09/08/2019 20:38

One side effect since I had an emergency TAH and everything else removed 3 years ago is that my lower legs haven't much hair on them now plus I have practically no underarm hair at all! Never had to shave arms or upper legs as the hair on them is very fine and light coloured anyway.

Batshittery · 09/08/2019 20:38

Lumea thread

This thread may help those with questions about Lumea

SolitudeAtAltitude · 09/08/2019 20:38

OP, you must still be young enough to think:

1.) People look
2.) People care

When you look close up in the mirror.... honestly, nobody looks at you that closely

The last woman you saw today, or the last 10, were they miracles of hairlessness? Or can't you remember

Exactly Grin

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 09/08/2019 20:39

I am hairy like a monkey. In summer I shave legs/underarms daily if I am wearing skirts or dresses, do bikini line once a week or so. In winter I do the lot weekly, thank you opaque tights.

MrsGrammaticus · 09/08/2019 20:45

My toes are hairy OP....Neanderthal woman! 😬

AnnaMagnani · 09/08/2019 20:45

Lower legs and armpits - laser

Eyebrows - not caring helps a lot

Tailfeather · 09/08/2019 20:45

I had laser hair removal. And use beet wax strips for my eyebrows and top lip. Quick and cheap. I try and do them twice a week and it takes less than 5 minutes.
