Do you shave every day?? My legs are hairy, my armpits are hairy, my hands are hairy. Not lots, but enough to make me feel conscious. I’m busy with a housemove so no time to wax. I’m so fed up! Eyebrows need attention too. I get them threaded, but can’t go for atleast 2 weeks.

How do people manage to look so presentable all the time???

l'm fair but l've used an epilator for years. All over. l don't even need to do my armpits these days, l just check every few weeks for the odd random hair that's survived, but they're very few and far between.

MarshaBradyo · 09/08/2019 19:25

Venus razor, I used to wax but have given up on pain

Eyebrows just pluck stray hairs, I like a natural brow mine are quite dark (am blonde)

Got them threaded once when everyone was going on about it - awful never again

MammaMia19 · 09/08/2019 19:25

I cant be arsed to shave more than once a week week if that. Only shave legs if they are out and I’m single so not much need. I do wonder how people keep on top of it though. I am really hairy but no one sees it so it’s ok.

bouncingraindrops · 09/08/2019 19:27

Mostly I just leave it alone. Shave my legs and armpits occasionally. Eyebrows and chin hairs get plucked regularly!

By wearing clothes.

ScruffGin · 09/08/2019 19:28

I bought a lumea in the last Amazon prime day, only two treatments in and hair is growing back patchy and slower, impressed so far!

feelingverylazytoday · 09/08/2019 19:30

I use a lady shaver once a week on underarms, legs (only below the knee, and any bits in my pubic area that would show in a swimming costume. Never done anything to my eyebrows - they're just there really, don't think about them at all.

Neverender · 09/08/2019 19:32

Ignore fanny, shave pits (find them annoying), shave arm hair (don't like it), do sideburns (makes me waaaay more confident). My body, my choice. ✅

Redwinestillfine · 09/08/2019 19:34

Takes 2 minutes with daily shower, then eyebrows once every month.

JaceLancs · 09/08/2019 19:35

I shave legs and pits every few days
Tidy up bikini area every week or so
Have eyebrows n top lip waxed every few months then keep on top of with tweezers
Chin hair (menopausal) drives me insane but I tweezer daily

CoraPirbright · 09/08/2019 19:38

Eyebrows- threading
Legs - wax or shave depending on time but over the summer def wax
Pits - shave
Bikini line - had it lasered years ago. Literally the best money I ever spent.

Interesting to hear of the positive stories re: the Lumea. Would love to have hair-free legs, pits etc

BluebellCockleshell123 · 09/08/2019 19:38

Thick black hair here. Shave my legs, underarms & chin Angry daily. Eyebrows get threaded every 2 weeks.

I had courses of IPL a few years ago but they didn't really help.

Just bought a Lumea so hoping that regular treatments will help a bit.

Queenie8 · 09/08/2019 19:40

I have a Braun venus ipl, I've had it four years, religiously did my legs, no more hair. It's been in the cupboard gathering dust, but I've just started to do my daughters armpits, along with mine. It was expensive but worth it.

whodis · 09/08/2019 19:43

Bought the Philips Lumea 2 years ago. Underarms completely hair free. Have done legs a little bit but need to fo a bit more with those. I think it cost £250 at the time but I don’t regret that. I sometimes can’t believe I don’t have underarm hair, it is do amazing. It was my holy grail of beauty, that was.

user1480880826 · 09/08/2019 19:47

Is the lumea really that good @lanbro and all of the others that have recommended it?

I bought the first version when it was released years ago and it look FOREVER just to do one leg and I never noticed a difference. I’m sure the booklet also said it wasn’t permanent.

How do you find time to use it and how long does it honestly take to do legs or armpits?

SomewhereInbetween1 · 09/08/2019 19:52

Shave it all everyday. Takes 10mins

CorBlimeyGovenor · 09/08/2019 19:52

I tend to moult twice a year, leaving the sofa, carpets and anyone who picks me up covered in hair.

Scuttlingherbert · 09/08/2019 19:53

I wonder about this too!

I'm pale with lots of dark body hair and hair removal is the bane of my life in summer!
I have very sensitive skin so on the rare occasions I shave my legs, they itch so much I sometimes wake up scratching them in the night, with blood under my nails.
I get on much better with waxing but seem to be in a constant state of regrowth
I've been thinking about laser hair removal recently.

Is it worth it?

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 09/08/2019 19:53

If I shave in the morning, I will have visible growth at the end of the evening.

These recommendations for the Lumea look great.

whodis · 09/08/2019 19:57

Pale skin with dark hair is ideal for Lumea. It won’t work on blonde, red or white hair.

YobaOljazUwaque · 09/08/2019 19:57

I accept my body as it is and recognise the disgust other people feel for body hair as what it is: culturally endemic sexism and thinly veiled promotion of the acceptability of paedophilic urges (why else would a body that mimics prepubescent hairlessness be considered desirable)

PinkDaydreams · 09/08/2019 20:00

What’s the best lumea version to get as I can see a few different ones? Also where’s best to purchase from? I’ve been debating whether to buy one or not for about a year.

bouncingraindrops · 09/08/2019 20:01

The difference between girls and women is not hair.

HTH.

Twolittlespeckledfrogs · 09/08/2019 20:01

I sometimes shave my legs with an electric shaver if I am wearing shorts or something. I even shaved my armpits for my wedding day.

People don’t really notice. One of my colleagues whose locker is next to mine and therefore sees me take my clothes off somewhat regularly was horrified when I admitted to not shaving my armpits. So clearly she had never noticed.

Thisismadness · 09/08/2019 20:04

My underarms were horrible, constant stubble and horrible itching because I shaved so much. I got IPL and it was amazing, the occasional hair but it’s soft and fine unlike the hard stubble that grew in before and I can shave with no irritation. I bought a Lumea to start doing my legs and occasionally blast my underarms as well. I’m too lazy to do my legs regularly enough but again the hair is much finer now so shaving isn’t much trouble.

Poetryinaction · 09/08/2019 20:05

I am very hairy.
I pluck my eyebrows every day. Have done from the age of about 10.
Armpits every shower.
Legs every 3 days or so. I used to epilate but can't be arsed now.
Bikini line I shave along with legs now. Used to use removal cream, can't be bothered with that any more.
Feet and toes I epilate occasionally.
I will get a lumea before next Summer.
