To have fallen in love with princess Charlotte and her mother?

I’ve always been neutral when it comes to the royals. Didn’t even watch the wedding(s).

But the a clip of Princess Charlotte cheekily poking her tongue at the public and her mother’s reaction is delightful.

The DoC seems to be blossoming into her role as future queen and this little interaction with daughter and public absolutely makes me melt!

Charlotte has always had a winning way with the press imo

tenredthings · 10/08/2019 11:59

YABU ! People's hard earned taxes pay for their privileged, elite lifestyle.

Bettyboopityboop · 10/08/2019 12:14

I just wonder if any other benefit claiming family from your local council estate had a random child sticking their tongue out at people while the mother laughed it off... Would people fall in love with them too? From what I've seen, the perception would be different.

AllFourOfThem · 10/08/2019 12:21

@Bettyboopityboop I would imagine that depends if the child had a group of adults doing the same to her in order to get a photograph or not. After all, it’s all about context.

SallyLovesCheese · 10/08/2019 12:23

Apparently Charlotte saw her grandad in the crowd and was sticking her tongue out at him. www.google.com/amp/s/www.hellomagazine.com/royalty/2019081076335/real-reason-princess-charlotte-stuck-tongue-out/%3fviewas=amp

4 year old sticks tongue out at grandfather. So what?
How does anyone know that once she was whisked down the stairs that a good telling off wasn't dished out? If Kate had reprimanded her there and then, everyone would be frothing about that. Instead, she quickly read the crowd, had a brief word in her ear and ushered her off.

londonloves · 10/08/2019 14:45

It's not the fault of a four year old that she was born into a rich and privileged family, any more than it's the fault of a four year old born into poverty.

londonloves · 10/08/2019 14:46

Also, parents with four year olds, honestly, would you "dish out a good telling off" at your child for poking out their tongue?" seriously?

BertrandRussell · 10/08/2019 15:01

I wouldn’t have done a massive telling off. But I certainly wouldn’t have laughed.

suckerforbrowneyes · 10/08/2019 15:45

Can see both points.

To be honest I probably wouldn’t have been thrilled about it but children are children regardless of their social class.

NeelixFelicis · 10/08/2019 15:53

Charlotte is going to be the biggest handful of them all mark my words, she will be the one to watch

I agree, fast forward 20 years I imagine a miniature Princess Margaret in the ranks Grin
Essentially free to do as she pleases, because her older brother has the royal obligation to be as dull as his Dad

If so, then brilliant - it'd be good to see a bit of personality injected back in the younger generations of the RF I want my value for money!

MarshaBradyo · 10/08/2019 16:24

Hopefully it’ll be done with by the time she’s older and anyone cares about what she’s like

Scardanelli · 10/08/2019 16:26

Oh honestly. People don't half spout some nonsense on here.

MarshaBradyo · 10/08/2019 16:28

Lol she’s four fgs I agree

BossAssBitch · 10/08/2019 16:34

Kate seems nice enough and Charlotte seems like a nice if unremarkable little girl, they are just like any other mother and daughter I see interacting on a daily basis so just your title alone makes me cringe. You have fallen in love with a stranger and her child. Your comment is so sycophantic my toes are still curling after reading it.

Don’t they just, utter tosh

jamoncrumpet · 10/08/2019 16:39

Kid makes cheeky gesture. Nation swoons. Pass me the sick bucket. If my kid stuck his tongue out at you on the bus you'd probably think he was a rude sod.

Mookie81 · 10/08/2019 17:39

It's bratty and rude. This is the problem nowadays; people excuse naughty behaviour as 'that's just kids', no, its poor behaviour.
And I now have a different opinion of the whole dress fitting debacle. I think Charlotte was acting like a brat, Meghan pulled up her behaviour and Kate didn't react well to this.

jillb55 · 10/08/2019 17:44

I have never understood the draw of the royals. Yes Charlotte is a cute little girl (although that behaviour was brattish and I would have told her off as did Kate) but the world is full of cute little girls. Just don't get the attraction.

Yabbers · 10/08/2019 17:46

I think someone poked their tongue out to Charlotte and she retaliated.

Yep. The paparazzi have been doing this to famous kids as far back as I remember. It makes a great shot and lets everybody who hate the royals have a go at them for raising “bratty” children. I can’t believe people don’t see that.

It was cute, DD would have done the same and my reaction would have been similar to Catherine’s

Yabbers · 10/08/2019 17:47

Not if I had done it to him first.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 10/08/2019 17:48

Can’t really blame the child if I’m honest.

“Wave for the strangers Charlotte. Again. And again. smile. Wave for the strangers you don’t know who are calling your name over and over again. Wave. Smile. Say hello. And again. Keep smiling.”

That would get old very quickly.

Yes to this too.

Userzzzzz · 10/08/2019 18:04

She’s 4 and seems like she’s quite fun. The children will be under huge amounts of scrutiny for the rest of their lives. I can’t begrudge them a bit of normality. My 3 year old is a total pain to photograph. She pulls funny faces, dances up and down etc. She is just doing what children that age do. I could well imagine mine sticking her tongue out in a similar situation.

I’d love to meet all these gracious, mature, saint-like 4 year olds that never piss about.

allhalewomen · 10/08/2019 18:14

I personally love the royals and the royal children! I like seeing how Kate is bringing them up and the pictures that we get to see. I think Charlotte is cheeky and the image of the queen. She seems ordinary- and I think thats what the public like to see! She reacts the same as a kid you just went past in sainsbury's or your own kids etc. I think Kate's reaction was spot on.
