Oh my fucking God a monster crawled across the baby as I was reading a book (called Unfollow Me, not ironic and recommended it's really good) and the light of the phone mean I saw this horrible hairy cunt crawl over my baby.

Squashed it dead and fuck where is the justice in life.
Drama all round.

Pray for us.

Hmm global warming does not equal big spiders ffs.

We used to have huge spiders like that in our house growing up. They'd come down the walls late at night. My brother was only allowed up late to watch motd was convinced the spiders also came down to watch it because that's the only time he saw them.

But yes OP, YABU to kill it. I once found one in my bed in the middle of the night, so I just put a glass over it, moved it to the bedside table and let it loose the morning after. No harm done.

AnyFucker · 08/08/2019 22:42

Aww baby feet

< misses point >

zeezee3 · 08/08/2019 22:42

@OoohOnly90CaloriesIllhave10

Fucking bollocks to that! Shock

Thank FUCK your baby knew nothing about it.

It's HUGE! Shock

Horrible hairy cunt though LOL! Grin

I rarely kill anything and HATE doing so, and I hate killing spiders, but I would have to squash this, as I would have to burn down the house if it got away. Sad

To the people giving the OP shit for killing it, calm the fuck down. It's a bastard spider, not a child. Probably most of the way through its life! They only live for about a year anyway. As I said, I will avoid killing ANYthing if poss - even fucking wasps! But I could not have let that HUGE fucker loose in my house. Given the fact it's so massive, it would have disappeared by the time I got a glass and a piece of card.

Also, how does anyone know that it would not have been harmful to the baby? Could have had a bit of venomous bite. No-one knows if it did or not.

#savethespider

There was no need to kill it.

darkcloudsandsunnyskies · 08/08/2019 22:43

These always upset me. Everything on this planet has as much right to be here as us. Just because you can kill something. Spiders have babies too. In future buy a bug box.

BagsBagsandMoreBags · 08/08/2019 22:43

Usually I'd say try and get it outside if you can (well H does in our house, not me!!) BUT if that actually ran over me or my child my natural instinct would be to swat it dead not just calmly go and get a glass and paper.

Bedforaweek · 08/08/2019 22:45

There are infestations of certain spiders in the UK right now. I’m not sure anyone needs to lose sleep over it being killed.

I had one once crawl into my bed. But that one is a whopper and on the baby. Argh

YoTheGinPussyOfThigh · 08/08/2019 22:45

That spider was giving your baby a nice kiss, how could you.

If you want to give yourself the willies google cave spiders and yes they are in the UK.

ArgumentativeAardvaark · 08/08/2019 22:47

Wait till you have a toddler, you’ll be seeking out spiders to feed their inevitable IncyWincy obsession!

Hearthside · 08/08/2019 22:47

Having an old house we get lots of spiders and that was big .But i would not have killed it as it would have just carried , sorry op i think YABU to kill it .I get it run across your baby but if you had left it alone it would have gone .If it been huge poisonous one then i could have got it was a huge risk then i would have got killing it but that wasn't so it's cruel to squash it .

MrsPinkCup · 08/08/2019 22:50

That is horrific reminds of the time my 3 month old ds wouldn't settle. This was in the 90's and he had this fleecy onesie you would put over their pyjamas (before sleeping bags for babies were about) . I decided to see if a nappy change would help so I unzipped it and a massive fucking spider ran out 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

MaxiPaddy · 08/08/2019 22:51

You have to nuke your house from orbit now.

It's the only way to be sure.

cakeandchampagne · 08/08/2019 22:51

@AnyFucker Smile

Ilovemypantry · 08/08/2019 22:52

Absolutely no need to kill the poor spider. And on a side note, what’s with all the effing in nearly every single post?

lastqueenofscotland · 08/08/2019 22:52

Don’t house spiders die if you put them outside anyway?

Pursefirst · 08/08/2019 22:52

Jesus, Mary and Joseph OP, the effing SIZE of that hairy menace.

Bravo for killing it, I think I would have run shrieking out of the house leaving every man, woman and child to fend for themselves probably why I'm childfree tbh

You know you have to sell or set fire to the house now or something, right?

Also, kudos to the PPs who could honestly approach that THING with the intention of rescuing/relocating it Envy not envy

Loulz · 08/08/2019 22:53

YANBU for the scary spider but YABU for killing worms! Like garden worms?! What did they ever do to you they just swuidge around the place!

BillywilliamV · 08/08/2019 22:54

Why did you kill it, a glass and a postcard and out the window..easy!

Pursefirst · 08/08/2019 22:55

Anyone else feel something crawling on them now? KILL THEM ALL

(lighthearted, before any members of the Society for the Safekeeping of Big Hairy Bastard Spiders come to berate me)

DrFoxtrot · 08/08/2019 22:55

A spider like this was in my daughter's bed one day, we caught it and let it go (near someone else's house Blush). But since then, we fondly think back to how it wanted to cuddle her in the night with all its eight legs Grin.

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 08/08/2019 22:56

OP it was not nice to squish the spider. But it would have carried your baby away. I don't think you had a choice.

BagsBagsandMoreBags · 08/08/2019 22:56

YABU for killing worms! Like garden worms?! What did they ever do to you they just swuidge around the place!

Agree! I find worms quite fascinating and not at all scary or harmful. I also like the word swuidge Smile

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 08/08/2019 22:57

Don’t house spiders die if you put them outside anyway?
No. They gather a posse and come back seeking revenge.

I’m struggling to feel much sympathy given that you killed the poor thing. Soz

I'm petrified of the things - forgive me if killing something that births thousands of babies and runs across my face whilst sleeping - poor thing ffs get a grip of yourself Hmm
