Is not getting far more media coverage?

Whoa OP, I do understand your personal link to this, but it really has been in the headline news every day that she has been missing.

neveradullmoment99 · 10/08/2019 19:11

Looks like they are scaling down the search and I read yesterday that them finding footprints wasn't true. Sounds so sad and hopeless.

Knitwit99 · 10/08/2019 22:25

Where on earth has she gone?? Unbelievable. Poor girl, she must be terrified and so confused.

neveradullmoment99 · 10/08/2019 22:39

I reckon that's it. Terrified and confused would make her want to hide. Hearing helicopters etc might make it so much worse. its just awful. Its like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I cannot imagine being her parents.

neveradullmoment99 · 10/08/2019 22:40

Sadly they are thinking they doubt she can survive much longer Sad especially with the weather.

All I saw in the news interview was an upset man comforting his distraught wife.

Me too Hmm

Legomadx2 · 10/08/2019 22:50

I agree that the reporting of this story is slightly off, and like PPs I can't quite put my finger on it.

Truly awful awful story. I can't think about it too much as it's too distressing.

neveradullmoment99 · 10/08/2019 22:52

neveradullmoment99 · 10/08/2019 22:55

Who knows what happened but the only thing I found strange was them thanking everyone almost as if they had accepted that the search was coming to a close or maybe they were acting that way cause they want it to continue and don't want the search and help to look like its been taken for granted.

Livelovebehappy · 10/08/2019 23:06

It must be awful for them hearing that the search is being scaled down. The worst outcome would be a situation like Madeline Mccann or Ben Needham, where she’s never found and the family have no closure. Let’s hope that she is found, whatever the circumstances, so at least her family know.

WorraLiberty · 10/08/2019 23:09

Ahh yes, suspicious arm stroking when your distraught wife is talking to the world in front of a TV camera Hmm

neveradullmoment99 · 10/08/2019 23:12

I thought the stroking of the arm was nothing out of the ordinary. It was just a father comforting his wife. The police guy at the end leans over when she looks like she is going to get incredibly upset.

Lougle · 10/08/2019 23:14

My daughter is 13 and has SN. She's very vulnerable. She went on a camp two weeks ago and got lost going to the toilet (she had been allowed to 'try' going on her own, to see how she'd cope, by the person looking after her). She said she was 'crying her eyes out' but the person who found her was 'very kind'. In reality, she was quite safe (church camp with high security and ability to lock the site down if someone goes missing) but I can't imagine how I would react if I was Nora's Mum. I think she's being incredibly dignified Sad

isabellerossignol · 10/08/2019 23:17

I feel strongly that any family in the public eye in a situation like this can do nothing right. Stroking his wife's arm? It's all an act. Doesn't stroke his wife's arm? Obviously something wrong, wouldn't any genuine couple want to comfort each other? Very emotional? Look at them acting distraught, they're hiding something. Calm and rational? They obviously don't care.

I hope with all my heart that my family never find themselves in a position where our every move is judged.

WorraLiberty · 10/08/2019 23:18

Hear hear isabellerossignol, I totally agree.

BloomingHydrangea · 10/08/2019 23:21

More about this in the press about this than the girl missing in York.

catinboots99 · 10/08/2019 23:22

I'm not sure she is alive

timshelthechoice · 10/08/2019 23:22

Beyond awful!

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 10/08/2019 23:23

Totally agree isabellerossignol

They are living every parent’s worst nightmare. There is no right way to act in front of the world’s media.

LatteLove · 10/08/2019 23:30

I know what you mean OP.

Poor girl :(

ThatsNotAKnifeThatsASpoon · 10/08/2019 23:42

@joystir59 what a dickhead comment.

ThatsNotAKnifeThatsASpoon · 10/08/2019 23:45

@joystir59 bravo on your armchair detective work Hmm

neveradullmoment99 · 10/08/2019 23:49

They both must be at their wits end. Knowing there daughter is lost in the jungle and time is running out. Its so horrible. I am of the belief she maybe got confused and wandered out. I cannot see how having only been there in that location for such a short time, she has been abducted.
