Absolutely devastated, lost my beautiful engagement ring today. Wondering if somehow Mumsnet can work her magic to help me find it.

Attached pictures here.

I went to Dowe’s Gym for an hour and then went to the metro convenience store next to the Subway. Attached pictures here also.

Please please please let me find it Sad

Hi folks

Can we please stop the troll hunting? It's against talk guidelines! Thanks.

MadamWaffle · 06/08/2019 20:31

I want to believe.

What the hell happened with "David"?

Aridane · 06/08/2019 20:35

*Please can the Nancy Drew Club fuck off and let us bask in the glow of a wonderful coincidence and a couple of happy

Quote fail but you get the gist

flowerstar19 · 06/08/2019 20:38

This is amazing!

Aridane · 06/08/2019 20:39

WTF with all the troll hunting.

Just hit report!

It's not like a troll thread with the OP asking for money, posting distressing or triggering scenarios or being a well known pee troll. No need to wade in and shout troll to protect naive readers.

As another poster said, time for the Nancy Drew Crew to fuck off.

Fruityb · 06/08/2019 20:42

I think this is lovely - why shouldn’t it be real?

katewhinesalot · 06/08/2019 20:52

Yes what is the Caroline and David story?

To @Coffeeandcherrypie and others who asked, doing yourself a mischief just means injuring yourself (thanks @WoollyMollyMonkey !). And if it sounds a bit rude, well dear dear, we will just have to live with that.

Sorry for implying this thread was less than totes legit. I'll go and spank myself silly now.

butthenagainno · 06/08/2019 21:10

What's the zombie story?

81Byerley · 06/08/2019 21:15

I remember watching a documentary about strange things that had happened. A man put some money in a chocolate machine in a tube station, pressed the button for the bar he wanted, and nothing came out. Just then his train came in, so he got on. When he got off, he was still annoyed about his chocolate, and banged the machine on the new platform. A chocolate bar came out.... the one he'd pressed the button for in the other station!

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 06/08/2019 21:17

I for one hope it’s real and don’t particularly care if it’s not!

NoSauce · 06/08/2019 21:18

That doesn’t even make sense.

icanbewhatiwant · 06/08/2019 21:21

Bluegirlgreen I've found your £50's 🤣

I genuinely believe the OP. She was very lucky someone found it.

I love this thread and believe it!

I once left my purse on the roof of my car and drove off! I’d just used the cash machine at the garage, topped up air in a couple of tyres which is why purse was on roof. Reached destination 15 minutes away, realised what I’d done! Felt sick.

Everything was in that purse. Bank Cards, £40, Dp card!

Headed back to the garage and walked out to the busy road where I would have pulled out. Not only found my purse, cards and a £20 note on one side of the road but two £10 notes on the opposite side, on the pavement!

Utterly amazed!

So, I do believe things like this can happen and it’s so lovely when it does!

Many many years ago my Mum lost the locket my Dad had given her for a birthday present. She was heartbroken. She had no idea where it had been lost.
Few weeks later, in school assembly (I was about 10) the headmaster announced that a locket had been found. I went to see him and described the photos inside and sure enough it was Mum's locket - it had been found by one of my friends in the grass by the school gates!

Yes these things happen. Glad the ring was found!

quitefranklyivehadenough · 06/08/2019 22:00

I once lost a hard contact lens in a snowball fight at about 10pm on a path that led from the dining hall to accommodation and the university library (so, extremely busy at all times). The next day, on my way to the optician, I looked down as I walked along the path (desolate, because I had very little money to replace it) and it was lying on the ground. It must have been a good twelve hours later and literally hundreds of people must have walked over it/past it without stepping on it. Not a scratch on it.

I BELIEVE IN THE RING.

Sunflower20 · 06/08/2019 23:06

This thread is fucking amazing!!!!!!!
So glad it has been found!!!

SomeAfternoonDelight · 06/08/2019 23:30

The power of the internet! AMAZING!

KoSamui1818 · 07/08/2019 05:39

I guess your losing your ring was not his priority.

There might be lots of troll threads on MN but this is not one of them.
Kind people exist and good things happen. Thirty years ago I lost my mums engagement and wedding rings after going swimming. We didn’t have a phone so I posted an ad in the local paper and gave my friends phone number. I still remember us jumping up and down and hugging each other when we heard the rings had been found.
