Correctly addressed to our house. Inside just the brief note, and two feathers. I'm pretty sure it's not meant for anyone here, no return address, very curious about its meaning though.

I don't find it threatening at all, just odd. Sounds as if it is written to someone they know- who will understand the Katrina reference. Wrong door I think.

wafflyversatile · 04/08/2019 00:55

They say it's not the feathers used in WWI. ie not an accusation of cowardice?

It genuinely reminds me of letters his dad sends a mate of mine. Esoteric and ponderous.

Could your dh be shagging someone called Katrina?

FundraisingWoes · 04/08/2019 01:06

Or could this be a weird reverse where the OP has written this letter using in-jokes with the recipient and wants to know if anyone would work out the true meaning should it be intercepted...

I would definitely be creeped out by receiving this. Was it stamped or hand delivered. Who was it addressed to?

HennyPennyHorror · 04/08/2019 04:15

Lulu the "threat* comes for me because the person seems unstable mentally. Who writers weird shit like that? Oh yes...people suffering from delusions do.

Bluntness100 · 04/08/2019 06:22

Ah, if it's hiya, then that's from a woman, especially with the two kisses at the end.

Waytooearly · 04/08/2019 06:44

Ah, I've got it, an older man was out on a walk and found yesterday, found a couple of cool feathers, and thought, "I'm near X's house. I'll give these to X and Katrina with a cheeky note." And got the wrong house.

The "hiya" thing is definitely something from 60s 70s,so someone older would use it.

Waytooearly · 04/08/2019 06:45

It's charming rather than creepy

TheClaws · 04/08/2019 07:05

Do any of your neighbours have a cat named Katrina? The feathers might be a peace offering in a neighbourly dispute. (You never know!) My cat would be over the moon with the gift of a feather - she adores playing with them, unfortunately. It could be the neighbour is uncertain of her name.

CorBlimeyGovenor · 04/08/2019 07:33

I can't believe that you tossed the feathers.

No pun intended!

OpheliaTodd · 04/08/2019 07:43

How bizarre!!

CorBlimeyGovenor · 04/08/2019 07:43

Yes, it is accusing someone of cowardice. And possibly accusing Katrina of having an affair. Katrina is a cleaner. You need to advertise for a cleaner and then interview everyone who shows up. Report back.

ODFOx · 04/08/2019 07:44

This is exactly the tone of the notes my (alcoholic) DM sends to me and my DC. In her head it's carrying on a conversation but it may well be a throwaway comment from weeks before.

I think that you are looking for a woman (either former houseowner or neighbour) with a teenager called Katrina who isn't pulling their weight around the house, with an elderly relative who has had a 'saw these and thought of you' moment.

This doesn't seem threatening to me, just a stream of consciousness to which you don't have the opening conversation/paragraph.

cornstarch · 04/08/2019 07:54

I know a cleaner called Katrina. Wonder if I live near you OP

MarriageOfPigaro · 04/08/2019 08:10

It definitely says pleasuring..... Eeeew

akmum18 · 04/08/2019 10:06

Why no update!? Have we rumbled the OP as the person having the affair Grin
Asking friends they think it looks like a warning note from OW, hopefully just an in joke posted to the wrong door

Branster · 04/08/2019 10:20

PS sorry, I mis-typed your name earlier

Branster · 04/08/2019 10:21

Louise190 I did it again!! Sorry

ReturnofSaturn · 04/08/2019 10:24

I'd guess from a woman too.
Do you have a husband or partner OP. Could be from an OW??

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 04/08/2019 10:30

I read it as someone telling you in a cryptic way that someone in the house is having an affair and they're apologising for making waves.

I had an ex who used to write in cryptic bullshit like that, with obscure references to things that made perfect sense to him but left the rest of us going '...that's nice'.Confused

PapayaCoconut · 04/08/2019 10:35

I think it's been written by someone with learning disabilities or a mental health problem to be honest. It may have made sense to them at the time, but probably won't to anyone else.

LauraKsWhiteCoat · 04/08/2019 10:59

It's creepy. I think its someone mentally unwell.

BlueCornsihPixie · 04/08/2019 11:47

To me it seems like a note form a man to a man not sure why

It seems slightly sexual to me, they seem to he indicating the feathers are for pleasuring oneself? Hence the reference to pleasuring and bloodshed, otherwise that section is random

KMW and KOC seem to be acronyms that are in jokes. Katrina on cleaning has a question mark next to it which suggests trying to for Katrina into that acronym.

I think it's something that the intended recipient might understand, but the writer has got the wrong address

FelicisNox · 04/08/2019 17:57

Bin it. It's clearly not for you.... not unless you're a keen masturbater by the name of Katrina. Grin
