Queue jumper or not?

Recently on holiday on a Caravan site:
This particular shower block has 5 showers. Decent sized, with benches. Not a tiny cubicle, can easily fit 3 people. But still, just 5 showers.

Nan, mum, child are next up... All wearing swimming costumes (so not going in naked) mum and child go in, nan waits for the next shower. Mum sends the kid out of the shower to go for a wee (round the other side of the showers)

Meanwhile, a shower becomes available. At this point there are probably 4/5 people waiting. The next woman in the queue and her child go in.

The nan then complains to the mum that her place in the queue has gone, she is going back to the van etc and the mum has a go at the woman (through the stalls) for jumping the queue.

Who is BU?

Should she have waited and let the nan back? Bear in mind it was tea time and there is a queue of people waiting

I’m not sure what’s going on here

ellesbellesxxx · 02/08/2019 22:51

Did the nan go with the child to the loo?

Heismyopendoor · 02/08/2019 22:51

Why did the nan not go in a shower? Where was she? I’m confused lol

HoorayItsTheHolidays · 02/08/2019 22:51

I don't understand Confused

HelenEllen · 02/08/2019 22:52

Had the nan gone off with the child?

Joopy · 02/08/2019 22:53

Did nan leave the queue? I think she should have said when she was leaving and ask someone to hold her place.
The next woman was right not to wait.

dreichhighlands · 02/08/2019 22:54

Why didn't the nan go in when the shower became available? Was she supervising the little girl? If she was then the next person would have been kinder to wait. Or to ask if she still wanted to use the shower?
That said the Nan could have said to the next people I'll only be a minute, save my space. Making it clear.

Floralnomad · 02/08/2019 22:55

It sounds hideous , next year just book something with a private bathroom .

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 02/08/2019 22:55

Nan took child to loo then had a strop that next shower was taken?
then SWBU and should have simply taken her daughter's place on her return with grandchild.

Macaroni46 · 02/08/2019 22:55

I don't understand what's going on here. Did the nan go with the girl to the loo?
Vital info is missing ...

KfordMum1977 · 02/08/2019 22:56

The mum and the kid went into a cubicle for a shower, whilst the nan stayed waiting for her own cubicle.
Whilst she was waiting, the mum having a shower sent her daughter out of the shower so her nan could take her for a wee.

In the meantime, another shower cubicle became available so the next people waiting took it (as the nan had left the queue)

A shower’s not a proper shower with clothes on.

KfordMum1977 · 02/08/2019 22:57

I'm sorry everyone, I did leave out the vital info that the nan in the queue left the queue to take the kid to the toilet 😂

(blame the nerves, I'm a virgin poster 😂)

As the nan had gone, she was being ridiculous to think she could hold her place in the queue.

chubbysquid · 02/08/2019 22:58

"move ya feet...lose ya seat!"

miaCara · 02/08/2019 22:59

Did Nan expect her essence to keep her place in the queue?

Im sure she wouldnt have had to wait long for her place again and just fancied a strop.

Nautiloid · 02/08/2019 22:59

If Nan wanted her space keeping, she should have asked.

KfordMum1977 · 02/08/2019 23:08

The nan didn't say anything at all, just left the queue so the next woman and her little girl went in.

Peesonally I don't blame her. You move you lose.

GabsAlot · 02/08/2019 23:08

Sorry but nan was wrong either say can u hold my space for me a minute please to the person behind or lose it

Spam88 · 02/08/2019 23:11

The nan over reacted. The next woman was right to go in the shower, who knows how long the nan was going to be or even if she was coming back. Had I been next in the queue when the nan came back though I'd have let her go back in front of me. Surely she would only have had to have waited a couple of minutes longer at worst..?

GibbonLover · 02/08/2019 23:11

Nan was VVU. Are the people behind her simply meant to wait until she returns, leaving one shower unoccupied and keeping the entire queue waiting even longer? Bollocks to that.

Mum was VVU for the same reason. -You- The mum and child WNBU to go straight into the shower as soon as it became free.

Butchyrestingface · 02/08/2019 23:12

Nan should have asked woman to save her place.

Did you know why nan was taking child off, OP? Did you offer to save her place?

WorraLiberty · 02/08/2019 23:13

I agree with PPs who said the nan should have asked for her place in the queue to be kept.

It sounds hideous , next year just book something with a private bathroom

Don't be a dick Hmm

Maryann1975 · 02/08/2019 23:14

I wouldn’t take a shower with my mum so I think YABU for expecting them all to go in the same cubicle. I would shower with dd, age 8 in those circumstances, but there is no way I would get dd13 to come in a cubicle with us. Why do you think they were keeping their costumes on while they were actually showering, they may well have taken them off once in the privacy of the cubicle.

Zazazube · 02/08/2019 23:14

The Mum was an idiot to send the child off to the loo. Everyone knows that you wee in the shower. Thems the rulez
