To ask leavers if they would vote differently now it's looking like no deal?

And as such should we go for another referendum?

I voted to remain and would continue to do so even if a deal was possible. However it is apparent that a deal isn't going to happen. Was it ever really going to be possible?

Would that change the mind of leavers? Or even remainers?

I would prefer to see no deal (even though I know its shit) than for this car crash to continue in slow motion any further.

@tonglong

This is exactly why I despair. Not a bloody clue.

Venger · 03/08/2019 12:39

It would be temporary = it would not be temporary (typo)

Venger · 03/08/2019 12:44

Considering the aggression associated with the Leave campaign and, distasteful as it may be to the ordinary Leave voters, the 'type' of people attracted to it I wouldn't be surprised if - when it all goes to shit after October, which it will - there wasnt violence against people and organisations who were openly supporters Remain. They'll get the blame for not believing enough.

Janista · 03/08/2019 12:45

It’s all scaremongering and absolutely disgusting to frighten ill or poorly people. Drugs and food will available, planes will fly, banks will work. Hysteria won’t I’m afraid - most people are sensible enough to ignore the “prepping” threads. Like we need to freeze eggs. And about a million other such ridiculous hysterics about leaving the EU in October.

Hotterthanahotthing · 03/08/2019 12:46

I can comment as apparently, not being rich, I'm thick as mince.

The uk already trades with US and China without any issues or trade agreements in place. Again, hysteria.

HPT9000 · 03/08/2019 12:48

@Janista

When you say no deal will be absolutely fine, on what are you basing this? What are your thoughts on the automotive industry for instance? For example certain components in a mini constructed in Oxford cross the UK/EU border four times. Do you think that in the event of no deal BMW will want to continue manufacturing the Mini in Oxford? Or might they switch production to the Netherlands? Is the decimation of one of our most successful manufacturing industries fine?

soapona · 03/08/2019 12:49

I voted leave and I vote vote leave and no deal.

Venger · 03/08/2019 12:50

Except the UK government has already said food and medications won't be available at the levels they are now. That the economy will be damaged. That travel will not run as it currently does.

MaxNormal · 03/08/2019 12:52

It's bloody disgraceful dismissing people's genuine fears. I have seen nothing to suggest that crashing out with no deal will be anything other than an epic clusterfuck.
Of course people are worried about supplies of medication! They'd be stupid not to be.

InTheHeatofLisbon · 03/08/2019 12:53

Drugs and food will available, planes will fly, banks will work.

The UK government don't think so, and are planning contingency plans to mitigate it.

You don't understand that, that's ok, you don't have to.

You don't have to do anything. Beyond spout pish on the internet. You're just making yourself look stupid tbh.

Janista · 03/08/2019 12:53

The way the EU has conducted itself who the hell would want to be a member anymore. Leaving the EU without a deal will be temporarily possibly disruptive for some.

People on here are acting like it’s the siege of Stalingrad. Utter, utter, nonsense.

InTheHeatofLisbon · 03/08/2019 12:55

Utter, utter, nonsense.

Yes, every word you've written is succinctly summed up in those three words.

You know nothing about it, can't understand basic facts and are having the time of your wee life trolling the internet.

Bless.

Janista · 03/08/2019 12:57

So someone who disagrees with the remainer crew on MN, First response is to call them far right, racist, a troll.

And then they wonder why the uk voted for Brexit.

Cinammoncake · 03/08/2019 12:57

I think you'll find our trade agreements are via the EU aren't they? Confused The EU can negotiate good terms as it's a large trading bloc

It’s all scaremongering and absolutely disgusting to frighten ill or poorly people. Drugs and food will available, planes will fly, banks will work. Hysteria won’t I’m afraid

We know there's likely to be a problem with medications. The governor of the Bank of England has warned of the very real economic shock. Not sure if you're just being goady but it's not hysteria to look at the facts

I wouldn't be surprised if - when it all goes to shit after October, which it will - there wasnt violence against people and organisations who were openly supporters Remain. They'll get the blame for not believing enough

Indeed. I can't see people like Farage are going to be prone to any reflection on the matter. They will be raking it in anyway. Other leavers are likely to refuse to take responsibility, going by what they're doing and saying currently. But it will be all on them.

DarkAtEndOfTunnel · 03/08/2019 12:58

Drugs and food will available,

How? When? For whom?

Never mind ‘it will be’. Prove it

malificent7 · 03/08/2019 12:59

Im in Crete atm and there are lots of tribes despite being eu members: traditional Cretans, modern Greeks, northern brits, southern brits, danish, German, Russian etc etc. We cant all be hill tribes forever; we need to modernise and unite to combat the REALLY big issues like climate change, not seperate.

Cinammoncake · 03/08/2019 13:00

Ruining their own country for revenge because someone was later going to call them a name? sounds like a good strategy Hmm

InTheHeatofLisbon · 03/08/2019 13:00

Janista no, someone ignoring facts, making shit up and gleefully patronising the people who actually will be affected by this is trolling.

That's what you're doing.

I find myself hoping that just as No Deal kicks in that Australia suddenly decides to send you back to the UK.

Bring food won't you? You'll need it Wink

Janista · 03/08/2019 13:04

I’ll certainly be in the uk before Christmas pursuing business opportunities post Brexit.

Venger · 03/08/2019 13:05

The way the EU has conducted itself who the hell would want to be a member anymore.

Please do elaborate on what the EU have done. They have quite plainly stated that the UK is doing this to themselves, which we are, and that it can easily be stopped by revoking A50.

Venger · 03/08/2019 13:06

I’ll certainly be in the uk before Christmas pursuing business opportunities post Brexit.

Good luck with that, I'm sure it will go swimmingly in an economy where the pound is so worthless and inflation is so high that we're all millionaires.

KidLorneRoll · 03/08/2019 13:07

@Janista You're a good example of why some people shouldn't have a vote.

What utter shite you are talking.

InTheHeatofLisbon · 03/08/2019 13:07

I’ll certainly be in the uk before Christmas pursuing business opportunities post Brexit.

Of course you will. Like a carrion bird picking the bones.

I hope you get fuck all. In fact, I hope you lose money, lots of it.

It's what you've wished on others, so it would be karma in action.
