Is this fixable?!

I recently treated myself to having my hair done in a salon for the first time in almost 4 years (I've been seeing the same hairdresser for about 7 years but she's now home based). I spent £140 and I honestly hate it. It looks absolutely dreadful!

I know it'll grow and it's not the end of the world but I have really long hair that people always commented on. Now it's ruined!

Please, tell me if this is fixable!

:/ What did you ask for?

Countrylifeornot · 30/07/2019 18:58

OP that's absolutely fucking terrible. Have you called them to complain?

Freddiefox · 30/07/2019 18:58

What did you have done? Was it high lights?

AwfulFuckingHair · 30/07/2019 18:59

I asked for balayage.

I have no idea what the bit that's three inches shorter is doing either. It's not blended. It's just a chunk of hair that's shorter!

I'm going to cry.

£140? That’s awful! Where did you get it done??

CastleCrasher · 30/07/2019 19:05

That is awful. Definitely complain and get refunded. Did you say something at the time?

CitadelsofScience · 30/07/2019 19:05

Either go back to the salon and ask to speak to someone senior or message them if they have a fb page.

That's atrocious and not what you asked for!

Gustavo1 · 30/07/2019 19:06

Sorry, my last post wasn’t very helpful. Call the salon and arrange to see the manager tomorrow. I’d ask him/her to agree that the cut, especially, is off and correct it immediately. Then ask for the next available appointment to fix the colour.
Don’t cry. Hair can be fixed x

AwfulFuckingHair · 30/07/2019 19:11

I'm pretty sure the person who did it is the joint owner. I think it's just the two women and then one junior who work there, but I'm not sure.

I've just messaged them on Facebook about the cut. I'm going to say I'm really not very happy in general. I'd rather a partial refund and then go elsewhere than them touch it but I don't think that's going to happen!

It was all curled when I left so I didn't realise how bad it was until I washed it the next day. I really hate it. It's awful.

£140 for that Shock you're right to be angry!

AwfulFuckingHair · 30/07/2019 19:23

Oh god. I'm shaking. I'm no good at this.

Fuck. I was hoping at least one person would say it's not as bad as I think!

Update since starting this comment. They want me to go in on Saturday. Do I trust them?! I'm so worried.

Go back in Saturday and get it redone. Let us know how it goes.

Gustavo1 · 30/07/2019 20:10

The colour isn’t what’s awful. It’s not a bayalayage which is what you paid for so that’s what is awful. The wonky cut however is absolutely inexcusable.
Where abouts are you? My cousin is lead stylist in a salon in the midlands ... ??

AwfulFuckingHair · 30/07/2019 20:19

I'm in Gloucester.

The cut is just ridiculous! I didn't notice until I straightened it. It's so blunt!

Will I have to have more highlights to fix it?

OP posts:
KitKat1985 · 30/07/2019 20:22

Yes get them to fix it on Saturday. Don't let them curl it again though so you can see better how it looks as you normally wear it.

AwfulFuckingHair · 30/07/2019 20:22

@KitKat1985

Definitely no to the curls!

OpenYourEyes · 30/07/2019 20:28

Can you post a picture with you whole hair in? It's difficult to tell from snapshots.

I hope they get it sorted and well done for complaining. I have had many a bad hair cut!

NotYourHolidayDick · 30/07/2019 20:31

Oooh I'm in Gloucester. I can certainly recommend places to go to get it fixed! Buy where did you get this done so I know to avoid?!

Divebar · 30/07/2019 20:31

I’m not sure I would want them to fix it. Have you been to this salon before? I did once get colour corrected in a Toni & Guy years ago but that was a big salon and there were lots of senior staff available to fix the problem ( and I’d been going for a while). I’m not sure I’d want another random person fiddling with it. Why didn’t you go to your regular hairdresser out of interest?

oreosoreosoreos · 30/07/2019 20:36

OP I'm not far from you - if you want somewhere good to fix it then Blushes have several salons locally and are usually very good.

AwfulFuckingHair · 30/07/2019 20:43

I wanted a bit of pampering in a salon as I've just finished a stressful time (exams) and fancied treating myself. My usual hairdresser is home based now. I should have gone to her. Lesson learnt!

@NotYourHolidayDick I'll tell you if they can't fix it! But it's not in the centre, it's on a main road leading to the centre of town.

We don't have a Blushes anymore, I don't think. That's where I used to go until I followed my usual girl around!

Dammit - six photo limit reached! I'll post tomorrow.

OP posts:
NotYourHolidayDick · 30/07/2019 20:47

For the last 13 years I've gone to Stuart Holmes in Cheltenham and they are consistently good. Toni and Guy weren't great and tbh I don't rate Blushes either.

Fingers crossed they will fix it for you.

AwfulFuckingHair · 30/07/2019 20:50

I've only posted four!

OP posts:
AwfulFuckingHair · 30/07/2019 20:54

I've never heard of Stuart Holmes. Who do you go to?

I used to go to Ashley Paul, then Blushes and I followed my girls to Gorgeous Hair in Cheltenham until she went solo.

I wish I could upload another photo. It's not so bad from the front (I hope!), it's just underneath and the top that it's super stripy. And the back, actually 😂

Oh fuck. What a disaster!

Gary at SH is awesome, but expensive. Jake is also a winner, as is Beth. Tbf you won't go wrong with any of the team. Have a look online. I'm sure if I recommend you, we both get a chunky discount voucher, but I'm happy to give you mine too if you want it
