Is this fixable?!

I recently treated myself to having my hair done in a salon for the first time in almost 4 years (I've been seeing the same hairdresser for about 7 years but she's now home based). I spent £140 and I honestly hate it. It looks absolutely dreadful!

I know it'll grow and it's not the end of the world but I have really long hair that people always commented on. Now it's ruined!

Please, tell me if this is fixable!

@NotYourHolidayDick

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I can't afford to spend any more for a while now but I'll message you when I can.

I just looked on their Facebook page and I liked the look of something Eddie did.

Blushes is now Mark Blake Hair.
I’m also in Gloucester, my sister is a mobile hairdresser after working at SH and blushes so I can ask her who she recommends for a correction if you you are able to get a refund.
Hope you get it sorted !

Cheeserton · 30/07/2019 21:48

Wow! Sorry, but WHAT is going on at the back there?? They need to fix it properly for free, pronto.

AwfulFuckingHair · 30/07/2019 22:14

The shorter bit is round the front. But it's not a fringe or blended or anything. It's just randomly shorter!

Talking my normal normal hairdresser now!

Sorry op but that cut is so so bad!!
I wouldn’t let them touch my hair again either. They should refund you to be honest and then go elsewhere, if a hair dresser cuts like that they shouldn’t be doing hairdressing to be honest! A strand longer here or there is an easy mistake but that is awful x

AwfulFuckingHair · 31/07/2019 08:18

I still can't upload any more photos!

@AwfulFuckingHair blushes does exist but it's in cheltenhan i think

The brothers who owned blushes went their separate ways.

However mark blake the other brother who is the award leading tricologist has mark blake hair on Westgate street and in cirencester.

I have been going their years and everyone I know who uses them has a great experience. I would whole heartedly recommend them!

I tried to go somewhere else and regretted it immediately and went back.

I would go in and get them to accept that they did an awful job and you want a partial refund then go to mark blake or similar to get it fixed. You will pay more but its worth it.

I think Cream is the other place which comes highly recommended

ShatnersWig · 31/07/2019 08:31

Yes, there is a Blushes in Cheltenham still.

Astonished someone down the road in Gloucester hasn't heard of Stuart Holmes, mind, even if they are expensive. And I'm a bloke!

HeyMonkey · 31/07/2019 08:59

Did you send them the photos you posted in your OP?

The wonky length and the stripes are awful. I would probably give them the opportunity to fix it FREE OF CHARGE, and if they still don't do what you want ask for a refund.

AwfulFuckingHair · 31/07/2019 09:00

@ShatnersWig

Never heard of them at all. Only one Facebook friend follows them. I would have looked them up if I'd seen a recommendation for them before. I'm going to ask my friends if they've heard of them.

@HeyMonkey

I've sent them one of the short bit and one of the really bright stripe and she agreed it's not right and to go back in on Saturday morning.

My normal hairdresser said to let them attempt to correct the colour but not to let them cut it again as she can fix the colour if needs be but she can't do much if they cut even more off and it's still wrong!

I've been told off because we've been growing my hair for years 😂

If you enter "hair salons Cheltenham" it's the fifth one that crops up. I'd only heard of one of the others and that's because I walk by it every day on my way to work. SH have won a lot of national awards - which I think is probably why I've heard of them, lots of newspaper and social media coverage all the time - and their salon is opposite the town hall.

And no, I don't know anyone involved in it!

AwfulFuckingHair · 31/07/2019 09:11

I looked in Gloucester as I rarely go to Cheltenham. I'll look further afield next time I fancy a treat!

My DD has just had bayage done at Kellie Vance in Elmbridge and it looks amazing. And my DD is the fussiest creature on earth!

I'd definitely get a refund. That cut is awful.

ShatnersWig · 31/07/2019 09:13

Yeah, I wouldn't be going to Gloucester for a treat Grin

AwfulFuckingHair · 31/07/2019 10:05

What do I need to ask for to fix it? I don't want to come out looking like a Barbie!

Hopefully they’ll tell you a plan to fix it and you can decide if that makes sense?

I recently had a cut and colour at my usual salon, but my usual hairdresser was away so I got the newbie. I hated what she’d done. The cut was lopsided and I got ‘stripey’ highlights, like you described, which made me feel like George Michael circa the 80s. I never complain, I normally just move hairdressers, but I love my normal hairdresser so much I did complain this time. The owner got me back in the next day to try to sort the problem. She cut my hair properly, so I was happy with that. The colour wasn’t so easy to fix, as you can’t undo highlights. But she did put some lowlights in to try to fix the stripes and some much finer highlights on top of what the newbie had done. My hair isn’t as stripey now, but there are some stripes when I lift my hair up, and it’s much lighter than I’d normally go for. But being a bit lighter was better than being in Wham.

Divebar · 02/08/2019 07:32

Lol. Thank you for this comment ..... it’s given me a right laugh.

Beautiful3 · 02/08/2019 12:12

What happened op? Did you get it sorted?

AwfulFuckingHair · 04/08/2019 10:34

Sorry. I didn't get a notification that there were more comments.

My husband loves George so he'd be happy with Wham!

I went back yesterday. It's worse. She's added white fucking blonde for some reason. It looks nice when it's down but I often have it half up and half down.
