This is there top story. Meghan is using a cheap shawl & DM have found the factory it was made in.

She’s been criticised non stop for her spending, uses something cheap and the DM visit the sweatshop it was made in! I’m sorry but we are all guilty of this, very few people I’m sure track down where everything they buy is made and how much the staff are paid.

It’s just getting ridiculous how they’ll find literally anything to criticise.

If the DM want to expose sweat shops (something they care little about usually) they have the resources and man power to do so but they don’t give a shit they just want to go after Meghan.

@TheFormidableMrsC

This woman can't do right for doing wrong. I don't blame neither her nor her husband for keeping their privacy given the horrific amount of abuse she is subjected to. A few years ago it was Kate who was the target of the vitriol of the press but is now considered perfect due to the absolute NERVE of this American interloper invading the Royal Family. [hmm.]

Agree with this. The press are vile. So are some posters on here. Just tear into Meghan at the slightest opportunity.

And let's face it, with SOME people, there is another very obvious reason why they are so vile towards her.

I think you all know what it is.. Wink

quizqueen · 30/07/2019 14:43

I think Meghan does bring the criticism on herself because of her supposed 'wokeness', whatever that really means. She claims she cares about the environment and the poor but it's really all a front, in my opinion, to get the attention she think she deserves.
Yes, she should check where the products she buys are made if she wants to be known for criticising the capitalistic system, which keeps women in foreign lands poor. She could have just bought a hand made shawl from a local small British company then she would have done something right for a change.

Mummyoflittledragon · 30/07/2019 14:45

Idk if Megan and Harry are listening to decent advice. They don’t seem to be. That’s very unfortunate and putting her ever more in the firing line. I don’t like the constant criticism at all. However some of the things like plumping to edit Vogue is eyerollingly foolhardy. I just wonder what they’re actually thinking and feeling. They are mature adults afterall.

LaurieMarlow · 30/07/2019 14:48

plumping to edit Vogue is eyerollingly foolhardy

Why?

Kate edited the HuffPost. Harry the Today Programme. I don't recall anyone criticizing them or telling them they were foolhardy.

LaurieMarlow · 30/07/2019 14:49

*She could have just bought a hand made shawl from a local small British company then she would have done something right for a change.&

That would have been expensive. I can hear the howls of 'wasting tax payers money' from here.

You couldn't make this shit up.

zonkin · 30/07/2019 14:53

She can buy a shawl from whomever she likes. As the other royals do. I don't think budget is a problem. She liked the shawl, she bought it. So what.

Most clothes don't come from an a completely morally responsible supply chain.

Hithere12 · 30/07/2019 14:55

Yes, she should check where the products she buys are made

Oh please. I’m sure most of us are using iPhones right now on mumsnet where it’s not even a secret how unethically they are made. But Meghan is meant to investigate every small item she buys.

They are vile it’s actually painful to read it

Day after day the poison ☠️

Can’t someone stop them

LadyRannaldini · 30/07/2019 15:01

Isn't it amazing how many people on MN hate the DM but know all about what it prints!

PortiaCastis · 30/07/2019 15:04

Do the Royals ever sue for the endless hate campaign of pathetically low bitching and bullying?

gingerbreadsprinkle · 30/07/2019 15:08

Do the Royals ever sue for the endless hate campaign of pathetically low bitching and bullying?

I may be wrong but I don't think they can sue unless something has been printed that is factually incorrect or an invasion of privacy (like nudes)? Right now they are being smart about how the report, so it's correct but it's in such a bad light and really enrages the racists, which then gives them more views/clicks/£££

SemperIdem · 30/07/2019 15:11

Yanbu at all

Iggly · 30/07/2019 15:12

Stop reading the DM.

Even if you think you don’t pay by looking online, you’re helping it generate income due to the number of website hits it gets.

Hazza000 · 30/07/2019 15:13

I must admit Harry and Meghan both are losing their shine for me in the context of a myriad of faux pas many of which have come across as entitled and arrogant. That said, the shawl thing is ludicrous and Piers Morgan quite creepy in his clear fixation on Meghan.

mrscampbellblackagain · 30/07/2019 15:14

It really is scraping the bottom of the barrel to go after MM for her blanket.

Did I see on twitter that Prince Harry has said they won't have more than 2 children due to over population? Way to heal the alleged rift with your brother who has 3 children Wink

I do think Meghan and Harry have surrounded themselves with rubbish advisors.

Mummyoflittledragon · 30/07/2019 15:14

LaurieMarlow
Because she’s under so much scrutiny and Vogue is full of designer gear, top models et al thus completely different to Huffpost. This is just my opinion obvs. But in her position I would have thought it prudent to lower her profile, not raise it. Much as I appreciate vogue is not exclusively sold to a demographic of people, who can afford the goods but choosing this medium becomes another stick to beat her with. It’s just sad to see it happening.

TSSDNCOP · 30/07/2019 15:18

Meghan met Piers, thought he was a count and fucked him off.

Smart woman. Get over it Piers, 99% of womankind would do exactly the same.

lyralalala · 30/07/2019 15:23

Piers Morgan is the most public example of a pathetic man reacting to being spurned in a while. Vile man

I’m not absolutely sure I know what the royals’ surname is. Mountbatten-Windsor? Wales? Cambridge?

Technically the titled royals don't have a surname. Their title is their whole name.

They'll use Wales/Cambridge/Sussex at school/military surname etc for easiness. Those like Lady Louise or Lord Freddie will use Windsor or Mountbatten-Windsor depending on which line they are on

QueenBeee · 30/07/2019 15:23

Online stuff depends on advertising for income unless you are signing up and paying. If you click on a DM link from MN you are feeding their advertising revenue no good saying you don't read stuff every single click counts. Don't click, I haven't and don't need to read their BS to imagine what mysoginistic stuff they are churning out.

lyralalala · 30/07/2019 15:25

She could have just bought a hand made shawl from a local small British company then she would have done something right for a change

I'm curious as to how they know she bought it. I've used various shawls on my kids over the years, but I didn't personally buy any of them

BertrandRussell · 30/07/2019 15:27

“However, having said that, I do wonder what Meghan is doing for the regular women of Britain. I think some criticism is warranted.”

What are any of them doing for the “regular women of Britain”?

TSSDNCOP · 30/07/2019 15:28

Wtf phone typo!!!! Piers isn’t a count. He’s a CUNT!!

Pikapikachooo · 30/07/2019 15:28

However, having said that, I do wonder what Meghan is doing for the regular women of Britain. I think some criticism is warranted

Grin as a regular woman of Britain I struggle to think of anyone that’s doing anything for me . I have limited expectations clearly

TSSDNCOP · 30/07/2019 15:35

I do wonder what Meghan is doing for the regular women of Britain.

First, define regular. Then, think about how much women on maternity leave are generally expected to do.

I’m beginning to think almost all the negatives about the Sussexes are just written on a Saturday by Fail interns.

They’ve blown their tittle tattle about Katherine and Meghan being sworn enemies after Wimbledon, now they’re hunting down shawl manufacturers.

Can't remember that OnlyFools - when did William do that?
