This is there top story. Meghan is using a cheap shawl & DM have found the factory it was made in.

She’s been criticised non stop for her spending, uses something cheap and the DM visit the sweatshop it was made in! I’m sorry but we are all guilty of this, very few people I’m sure track down where everything they buy is made and how much the staff are paid.

It’s just getting ridiculous how they’ll find literally anything to criticise.

If the DM want to expose sweat shops (something they care little about usually) they have the resources and man power to do so but they don’t give a shit they just want to go after Meghan.

Harry and his hypocrisy regarding animals. Using spurs on his polo ponies, actually making them bleed. Choosing to go to the Lion King instead of attending the royal marine memorial concert, he's captain general, it was planned 11 months ago. Disney paid them a few million to attend, for their "foundation", which they can use to pay themselves so obviously money talks. The queen must despair. I actually think Harry has deep problems.

Doesn't William do this too? Plus a lot of them hunt despite being patrons of the RSPCA or WWF etc. I'm not saying it's right but Harry is by no means the only one.

LaurieMarlow · 02/08/2019 10:28

The Queen ... does not flaunt her wealth in the same way as her offspring

Whoever is in charge of the queens pr is an utter genius.

This woman, who has about 7 stunningly appointed residences, a 7 billion pound jewellery collection at her disposal, her own train, more valuable art work and antiques than I can fathom, an extensive wardrobe of bespoke, top quality, hand made clothes, so many person staff that she never runs her own bath.

Somehow this woman has gained a rep for frugality and not being flashy?!?!? Confused

It’s incredible. I can’t even comprehend how people think.

TelAvivLastNight · 02/08/2019 10:29

Harry posing next the carcass of a water buffalo he just shot as 'sport' telling us 'every single living creature matters'...

Puzzledandpissedoff · 02/08/2019 10:32

The other Royals don't wind people up the same way as they don't preach to us in the same condescending and patronising manner

I wouldn't quite go that far - not while Charles is still alive and spouting hypocrisy beyond belief

SamanthaBrique · 02/08/2019 10:33

The hunting thing is really distasteful. He and William are WWF patrons yet took a hunting trip to Spain just ahead of launching a campaign a few years ago.

Quite true, I'd include nearly all of them for the same complete disregard for animals. But this thread is more about Harry than William, that's why I mentioned it. I don't like Harry or Meghan but I don't like the way Harry seems to escape the criticism above Meghan, people blame her for all the negative stuff and Harry can do no wrong. How ridiculous.....But seeing those pics of his polo pony bleeding from his spurs disgusted me. I can't stand him now.

separatelives · 02/08/2019 10:47

"Somehow this woman has gained a rep for frugality and not being flashy?*

Ah yes, the queen's "frugality"......only when it comes to paying her staff it seems.

TelAvivLastNight · 02/08/2019 10:47

Charles has been incredibly pompous in his time but not as patronising or hypocritical. He also hasn't courted the attention of celebrities in the same way. His 'topics' are pretty pedestrian like architecture and 'organic' farming- both of which he has taken time to study.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 02/08/2019 10:47

Well put, Laurie; it's beyond belief that a few tupperware shots, an account of HM washing up at a picnic and an image of her on the train to Norfolk can have such impact, but there you go

At least, though, she doesn't spout claptrap about how the rest of us should live. We might get a few gentle phrases about Christian ideals at Christmas, but on the whole that's about it

BertrandRussell · 02/08/2019 10:51

I have no time for anyone who plays polo. Or who supports blood sports.

I presume the Sun reckons the DoC does both!
And by next week some mumsnetters will think that too.....Grin

Puzzledandpissedoff · 02/08/2019 10:51

(Charles) hasn't demonstrated quite as much hypocrisy as H has he?

You've got to be joking, Mauritius. I'm off to Heathrow shortly or I'd start listing countless examples ... the only problem being that once started it would be hard to know when to stop

BertrandRussell · 02/08/2019 10:52

“At least, though, she doesn't spout claptrap about how the rest of us should live.”
The frustrating thing is that it’s not claptrap......

Actually that's a fair point, Bertrand; I don't support all of the fashionable "causes" they seem so keen on, but it's true there are some valid points in there along with all the fluff and psychobabble

It's just that the message gets a bit lost when it's coming from someone whose hypocrisy spoils it

TelAvivLastNight · 02/08/2019 11:12

Harry recently flew his bloody polo pony to Italy!! This is the man giving bare foot speeches at Camp Google about the environment.

separatelives · 02/08/2019 11:18

What about the polo pony who actually had a heart attack and died, presumably from exhaustion whilst animal loving Harry was riding him. It's a bloody cruel sport and should be banned. But it wont.

BertrandRussell · 02/08/2019 11:21

“What? The Sun reckons the duchess of Cambridge does both or are you talking about William, because we know he does both confused”

Sorry- got my Cs and Ss muddled up.

separatelives · 02/08/2019 11:36

Why aren't the RSPCA taking action against these morons who use spurs on their ponies. It must be unbelievably painful, especially when the skin breaks. It's bloody appalling tbh.

BertrandRussell · 02/08/2019 11:52

Polo ponies are flown all over the world all the time.

And the RSPCA is an organisation that knows which side its bread is buttered on.

SamanthaBrique · 02/08/2019 11:54

Agree @BertrandRussell, it's the RSPCA after all.

separatelives · 02/08/2019 12:04

Quite true Bertrand Russell I should imagine if it was a poor man's sport it would be rather different. Hmm

LadyRannaldini · 02/08/2019 12:06

Nobody should still be reading the Daily Fail....

Who made you the press police? No-one reads it yet you all know what's in it!

As far as Mrs Sussex is concerned, were she to make fewer fatuous comments regarding the environment etc people might treat her more kindly. She won the jackpot when she snared Harry yet continues to lecture others. Her list of women in Vogue was laughable, how many people had heard of half of them?

Pretension is always to be despised.

TelAvivLastNight · 02/08/2019 12:06

Polo ponies are flown all over the world all the time.

Maybe they are but if you are one of those involved in flying them please do not have the audacity to tell me 'every blade of grass matters' and that I should change my life to save the planet. Change your own life Harry! Your horse has more air miles than I do.
