www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7298013/Meghan-Markles-organic-baby-shawl-used-swaddle-Archie-workers-earning-37-PENCE-hour.html

This is there top story. Meghan is using a cheap shawl & DM have found the factory it was made in.

She’s been criticised non stop for her spending, uses something cheap and the DM visit the sweatshop it was made in! I’m sorry but we are all guilty of this, very few people I’m sure track down where everything they buy is made and how much the staff are paid.

It’s just getting ridiculous how they’ll find literally anything to criticise.

If the DM want to expose sweat shops (something they care little about usually) they have the resources and man power to do so but they don’t give a shit they just want to go after Meghan.

“And as for Prince Harry's off the cuff reply to Jane Goodall - how much media training has he had?”

Why was it such a bad thing to say?

mrscampbellblackagain · 31/07/2019 20:42

Well Bertrand I have more than 2 children but I don't tend to go everywhere in a fleet of range rovers, helicopter/private jet so I think I am safe to think my environmental impact is less than his.

So that is why it is a stupid thing to say.

But fucking hell, the defence of this woman (I’ve seen several threads before now) is a remarkable example of idiocy.

If you allude to being in the know several times without actually saying what you know then forgive us if we think you're talking shite.

TSSDNCOP · 31/07/2019 20:46

I suspect that Meghan wouldn't give the shit off her shoe to any of you fervent defenders.

I should hope not Derxa for I would use my non-flag waving, forelock tugging, cap doffing hand to give it back to her.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 31/07/2019 20:46

I suspect you're right, Derxa, but in that too she'd be no different to the rest of the family she's joined

They might put on a reasonable show when it suits and occasionally engage our interest with weddings, divorces, babies, etc, but does anyone honestly doubt their real priority is hanging on to their position and keeping the baubles rolling in?

my hairdresser does her hair and says she is delightful, beautiful, kind and funny

escapade1234 · 31/07/2019 20:50

I’ve never read such virtue-signaling, patronising, preachy drivel as those Vogue interviews and articles. From both of them. Literally zero self-awareness.

I suspect that Meghan wouldn't give the shit off her shoe to any of you fervent defenders.

I can’t say that I care. I don’t know her. She doesn’t know me.

But I am going to call out the implicit racism that undermines the hypercritical readings of every fucking thing she does

TSSDNCOP · 31/07/2019 20:56

Why are you so hung up with shit on shoes. Who would even do that? Are you typing from Dickens times perhaps?

SamanthaBrique · 31/07/2019 20:59

The question is why would anyone offer the shit off their shoes and why would anyone else want it??

Is it the provenance of the shit? Perhaps Unicorn? I’m at a loss, but out it comes every time in Royal Family Defender Bingo.

Mrs C-B I’m going to disappoint you I think by saying I camped in the Mall for the Andrew/Sarah wedding. Never had a fringe since having tugged it so hard. Absolutely no shits of shoes were given. Grin

derxa · 31/07/2019 21:07

Are you typing from Dickens times perhaps? No I'm a farmer and well acquainted with shit. I actually admire Meghan. She's worked very hard throughout her life to get to where she is. She reminds me of a cross between my two favourite literary characters, Becky Sharpe and Scarlett O'Hara. Resourceful and sharp witted. I wish her well but don't want any lectures on life thanks.

jollybird · 31/07/2019 21:07

She has not broken any laws the last time I checked.
She's not wanted by Interpol or the Met police. She is not a sex offender or a murderer.
So she rubbed her belly a lot during pregnancy and spoke intelligently when the 'fab four' had a public function. She jetted to the States for her baby shower.

A few ' PR disasters' as some of you put it. So??

I just don't get your hysteria.
What's wrong about defending her?

LaurieMarlow · 31/07/2019 21:13

If Kate edited Vogue with all the cheesy crap that M did including a ridiculous editor's letter and featuring her DH she would have had the same criticism.

She wouldn’t have and I think you know it.

She edited the HP and it seemed to spark no reaction whatsoever

SamanthaBrique · 31/07/2019 21:22

You're right @LaurieMarlow. Equally, if Meghan had designed a garden for the Chelsea Flower Show it would've been "who does she think she is, doesn't she know not everyone can afford a garden" and if she championed an early years mental health initiative it would've been "what does that privileged cow know, she shouldn't stick her nose in other families' business".

And if she posed for a photo like this in the aforementioned garden, well the snide comments would never stop!

Unless we are MM or her father it is not for us to judge. We know not what happened, but a version of events that we choose to believe happened. Only MM knows the context within which she experienced those events and same for her father.

BertrandRussell · 31/07/2019 21:39

“Did you see that Bertrand Russell it was separatelives who mentioned the royal box not ssd. Are you just going to ignore laughing at the wrong poster?“
I absolutely apologise- I made a mistake. I didn’t read the posters names properly.

TSSDNCOP · 31/07/2019 21:49

Someone was here caning the DoC and the garden earlier Samantha because lots of women haven’t got big gardens or even gardens.

Thereby missing the point that an inspirational design is meant to, you know, inspire. I’ve got a garden the size of a stamp, but I’m toying with some ideas including a swing and water; back to childhood for relaxing the mind.

TSSDNCOP · 31/07/2019 21:50

Just read that back. Hark at me getting all woke Grin

separatelives · 31/07/2019 21:55

There's absolutely no point in talking about MM. Mainly because any criticism is deemed racist. It shuts down discussion and for anyone to be called racist when they aren't is disgusting. She deserves criticism imo, but her race is bloody irrelevant. I could write a list of stuff I don't like about her but can't be bothered to give the virtue signallers their chance to be nasty. So I'm going.

ssd · 31/07/2019 21:55

Bertrand Russell, no worries.
