The before and after pic. I think I'm putting them on right? Yet they end up cutting into him.

He's 7 months, 91st for weight, 75th length so he's rather round. Big tummy and thighs.
10.3 kg and these are Aldi 5+

Before and after pic the wrong way round but you get the idea.

He often has red marks

They look too tight to me have you tried a size up?

Also are you leaving it a long time between changes?

BeanBag7 · 25/07/2019 14:01

Have you tried a different size or brand?

PinkSpring · 25/07/2019 14:01

Try nappy pants!

Iggly · 25/07/2019 14:01

I think you’re tightening them too much. I certainly didn’t do ours up that tight

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 25/07/2019 14:01

I think it’s just his wee belly making the top of the nappy roll down. I find this with trousers that are too small for me- my belly protrudes and forced the top to roll down.

Have you tried any other brands?

WhenZogateSuperworm · 25/07/2019 14:02

Try a different brand. I found Aldi nappies too short in the back for DS who was tall.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 25/07/2019 14:02

Does he have any hip issues?

OoohOnly90CaloriesIllhave10 · 25/07/2019 14:02

In theory though, he isn't heavy enough for the size 5+ according to the packet.

The photo of the right one was on for about 40 mins. It was still dry, I keep changing it trying to get it 'right' but failing.

I had the same issue with pampers and I've looked into Huggies but I don't think they exist anymore??

Too tight. Also try another brand, they look too long for his body shape.

hormonesorDHbeingadick · 25/07/2019 14:02

You need to try the next size up.

MuchTooTired · 25/07/2019 14:03

My son is the same with tummy and thighs, I’d suggest either going up a nappy size or trying a different brand? We use sainsburys own nappies, and they’ve been really good for us, my son has been in size 6 for months (he’s 17 months now).

wineymummy · 25/07/2019 14:04

Nappies maybe too big and you're having to over tighten them? My DD is 2.5 and wears Aldi size 5...and I sometimes think they're too big still. (She is super slim tho.)

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 25/07/2019 14:04

Are they too big?? My 20 month old is far from petite and only just fitting size 5

GinaCarbonara · 25/07/2019 14:04

Ooh those thighs Grin

TheHandsOfNeilBuchanan · 25/07/2019 14:05

DS is seven months, very long and he's in Pampers size 3. 5+seems huge for a baby that young. Try a different brand

OoohOnly90CaloriesIllhave10 · 25/07/2019 14:05

The size 5 is the same size (in Aldi) and the 4 is waaaaaay to small.

If I do the nappy any looser, the hard plastic bits that stick down rub against his skin.

Go up a size. Definitely. Regardless of the weight. Both my boys were big babies and needed the bigger size than going by the recommended weight. Nappy pants are also good if they're wriggling around more. They have elastic around the waistband, so less likely to dig in.

Teachermaths · 25/07/2019 14:05

Nappies too big and you're having to tighten them up too much?

TheHandsOfNeilBuchanan · 25/07/2019 14:06

To be fair DS is quite slender, but DN is 8 months and a lovely chunky thing and he's only just in a size 4

AgnesNutterWitch · 25/07/2019 14:06

The size by weight is just a guide, it doesn't take into account the baby's body shape. I would give it a go with the size up and see if it improves. You could try shopping around different brands until you find one that has a shape that suits. Pull up ones that don't have the sticky tabs might be an option, although I think they're more expensive.

OoohOnly90CaloriesIllhave10 · 25/07/2019 14:07

Thehands my DS isn't very long.

He's very very round. A smaller nappy doesn't do up round his middle.

I don't know if this pic helps to explain what I mean? Probably not!

We do use nappy pants for DS over night and when we're out for the day, he's crawling and cruising and has a habit of putting his hand in his shorts and undoing nappies! Nappy pants are definitely longer than nappies, DH calls them his Simon Cowell nappies
