The before and after pic. I think I'm putting them on right? Yet they end up cutting into him.

He's 7 months, 91st for weight, 75th length so he's rather round. Big tummy and thighs.
10.3 kg and these are Aldi 5+

I really like Sainsbury’s own brand nappies.

OoohOnly90CaloriesIllhave10 · 25/07/2019 15:45

I find all brands of nappies do this on my 2 when they're not wearing a vest.

Oh! He hasn't been wearing a vest the last few days!

I'm guessing OP's taking a break from this thread to munch on all that gorgeous chub [heart emoji]

melissasummerfield · 25/07/2019 15:48

Someone on here recommended Sainsburys to me too when pampers kept leaking and i must say they are brilliant! Really soft and a proper stretch to fit waist which no other brands seem to do anymore.

Starburst8 · 25/07/2019 16:22

My baby's nappies roll over at the top when he's not wearing a vest. The nappy it's self isn't too small for him, i put him in the next size up as they're more absorbent during the night. i use pampers baby premium.
It looks like they're too big at the front iykwim, they dont look too small in the laid down photo.

HiJenny35 · 25/07/2019 16:27

Done up too tight. Try papers premium in a size down (4) The tabs round the side (attached to the front of the nappy) make sure these are fully stretched out and laid flat against the stomach before attaching the sticky tabs from the back section.

NoSauce · 25/07/2019 16:30

They aren’t big enough for him.

redastherose · 25/07/2019 16:32

I always put a larger size on my DD's so they came up higher and didn't seem to cut into their legs at the top.

Chocolatedaim · 25/07/2019 16:34

I also wouldn’t get too caught up on size of nappy, and weight, especially not at 7mnths. Some babies (especially boys I find) are just quite sturdy build so they always end up with nappies looking like this. Once they are standing and walking they don’t.

Chocolatedaim · 25/07/2019 16:36

I’m heavily pregnant and these pictures of chunky thighs are making me go all mushy

Bluearsedfly36 · 25/07/2019 16:39

I used to swear by Aldi nappies but I think they've changed them. Not for the better. Lidl ones are good, and I also find Tesco's Fred and flo ones good too. I used Sainsbury's when on holiday and they were fine too xx

123Helpus · 25/07/2019 16:48

Try Tesco’s own brand instead, I found this happened with aldi but not tesco 👍🏻

InvisibleToEveryone · 25/07/2019 16:52

What we've done now it's too warm for body vests, is to put normal pants over the happy .
They hello hold it up so it's doesn't bag around his knees after one weeGrin

ChocolateChipMuffin2016 · 25/07/2019 16:58

I had this with DS and he was in Aldi nappies from birth, changed to Asda ones which were perfect, tried Tesco and didn’t rate them. I’ll buy pampers pull ups when they’re on offer which I also think are pretty good. DS is in size 5+ and is 2.5! But he’s got a small bottom and little thighs! DD is 4 months and is in size 3’s! But she’s round and chunky like her mother!

HoorayItsTheHolidays · 25/07/2019 17:03

Why don't you try some pullups - I know they are normally for older ones, but might be just right for your little man! (BTW - the nappy does look a little tight - try fastening it a little looser in the meantime)

81Byerley · 25/07/2019 17:12

Save the planet and try fabric nappies....

Gustavo1 · 25/07/2019 17:26

I have just bought some Tesco nappies and they are fab. Accidentally got a size smaller than usual and still fit my little one nicely x

Owlbert · 25/07/2019 17:33

They sound huge! My 95th percentile girl is still on pampers size 3 nappy pants when in disposables (use real nappies part time). We changed to nappy pants in disposables as soon as she was big enough as I can never get normal disposables right!

firawla · 25/07/2019 17:36

The tabs should normally meet nearer the middle, so I think it looks too small on him. Another vote for trying the pull up pants ones, it should fit him better? Worth a go

CanYouHelpFindThis · 25/07/2019 22:39

Size 5 and size 5+ are the exact same size but the + means they are more absorbent

The nappy will sag if baby hasnt got a baby grow on

CTRL · 25/07/2019 22:48

You should try Tesco own brand nappies. I found them bigger than most other retailers (pampers, aldi, Asda) and twice as absorbent !

My children were chunky too and the Aldi’s nappies always ended up leaking as once children started moving they would end up with a nappy wedgie and contents would fall out the side 😳lol

georgialondon · 25/07/2019 22:56

I'd try a different brand. Not all nappies suit all babies.

CondeNasty · 25/07/2019 23:06

Personally I think size is just one factor and fit is hugely important. You need to try different brands to find one that suits his shape better. For us its Aldi, they fit nicely and never leak. My friends DD who is a similar age and weight leaks in them all the time and suits sainsbury's more. Small packs and a bit of trial and error!

Osirus · 26/07/2019 00:04

Those nappies look horrible. I always used Pampers Nappy Pants, from before a year old. I think you’ll find they might fit better, and will certainly look more comfortable.

I hate taped nappies.

Kat2618 · 26/07/2019 09:59

Wrong shape and size for your baby, try different brands and sizes or some cloth nappies, btp pocket poppers and do the play with the poppers until you get a nice fit and positioning, also cloth is much softer, not got any plastic or chemicals and wont dig in like that, plus its better for the environment and (with prolonged use) your bank balance too..
