Can't be be done for Section 5 offences? Does he not work? He seems to be there on a permanent. Free speech is all very well, but it's driving me mad!

He is annoying, and leaves anyone watching with a bad taste in their mouths wrt remainers. Anyone trying to stay balanced will inevitably get pissed off by him, and veer towards the other side, that being brexiteers.

SummerSeasoning · 25/07/2019 11:17

TBH I cannot make out what he is bellowing anyway. Might as well be a moose on the loose.

EggWrap · 25/07/2019 12:07

Maybe he intends not not be understood! I thought he was pro brexit and shouting pleas for BJ to 'not stop brexit' as he is so hard to hear 😅
I am a brexiteer though, so maybe we hear what we want!

Purplejay · 25/07/2019 13:34

Glockenspiel is more annoying! I keep wondering what it is and then realising it is on the telly!

I don’t mind shouty man but think the newsreaders would’ve better off in the studio. They were trying to position themselves so as not to get their face melted off yesterday morning!

zonkin · 25/07/2019 13:49

I'm going to go against the general consensus and say that I like shouty man. He has shown commitment and innovation.

The reason the press are set up where they are is to get easy, speedy and live access to the MPs etc. as it's just across the road from Houses of Parliament.

Anybody can go and stand by the railings near the press "pen" area. You too can get in the background as the news goes out live. We don't live in a police state yet.

Perhaps if more people stood up for what they believe in rather than just sitting in their armchairs moaning about the state of the country and doing absolutely nothing we wouldn't be in the mess that we are in.

thelaststraw123 · 25/07/2019 13:54

He's driving me nuts! My FIL watches the news religiously and all you hear is shouty man 🙄

Lindy2 · 25/07/2019 14:00

I was at the Houses of Parliament earlier this year. I came out of the building where shouty man is and nearly jumped out of my skin. Believe me he is even louder in real life.
London cabbies were doing a very noisy protest that day too just to add a few decibels on to it.

Fibbke · 25/07/2019 14:02

He's the human version of the MN Brexit board, then

🤣🤣

OtraCosaMariposa · 25/07/2019 14:04

Is this the STOP BREXIT!!! man who bellows on the news and has been for a year? I'd love to see Louise Minchin or Laura Kuenessberg go over and tell him to shut the fuck up and stop being so rude.

user1491678180 · 25/07/2019 14:06

He is a tool of the highest order, and like all the protesters from this past few months, he needs to get a job.

zonkin · 25/07/2019 14:27

The London cabbies are always making noise around there too.

There's both Brexit and Remain protesters there every single day. There are lots of "beep if you support [insert remain/leave]. And lots of drivers do beep. You also get other small groups of protesters, particularly on Wednesdays (due to PMQ)

It's not exactly a quiet part of town. You see him because he's been persistent.

zonkin · 25/07/2019 14:28

No point protesting if you don't get noticed.

bellinisurge · 25/07/2019 14:32

Sadly, annoying me isn't against the law so he should carry on with it. And the glockenspiel player.

zonkin · 25/07/2019 14:32

@user1491678180 So the protesters are being effective. You know who they are.

Perhaps they believe in something. Alternatively just be a cog in the wheel that makes the system tick along just nicely. MPs love that. Keep the plebs in their place - obedient. Might moan, but won't actually do anything about it so we can keep pushing on with some of our less tasteful policies

zonkin · 25/07/2019 14:40

@OtraCosaMariposa All the MPs and reporters know who Brexit man is. And quite a few chat with him and say hello. You're daydreaming if you think Laura K or Louise M would argue with him. Or challenge him for being "rude". Why would they?

Anyone can protest and go and stand and stand at those railings, as long as you are not stopping people pass by on the pavement. It's called democracy.

You know who he is and why he is protesting. Therefore, his protest is being successful.

NoTheresa · 25/07/2019 14:41

Agreed. It’s mega intrusive.

LIZS · 25/07/2019 14:41

StopBrexit man is Steve Bray and has a twitter feed. Glockenspiel man is apparently playing music from the Exorcist behind Sky reporters.

ThereWillBeAdequateFood · 25/07/2019 14:42

I love the stop Brexit guy. You have to respect his stamina.

SummerSeasoning · 25/07/2019 14:43

That is a low threshold for success.

SummerSeasoning · 25/07/2019 14:44

The Exorcist!

I wish I lived nearer and could add to the cacophony with my recorder. What larks,eh!

RubbingHimSourly · 25/07/2019 14:44

The climate change protestors pissed me off yesterday. They were bloody lucky that police man didn't come off his bike when that ran in front of him.

gokartdillydilly · 25/07/2019 14:46

I think he's a national treasure. Shouty man for PM!

zonkin · 25/07/2019 14:47

@SummerSeasoning I don't think it's a low threshold. He's doing something, all the press and MPs know him and do chat with him. He's not been arrested.

If you feel so strongly about him why don't you get yourself down there for a day with a tannoy and get your message across?

zonkin · 25/07/2019 14:47

And all of us on this thread know of him.

Peaseblossom22 · 25/07/2019 14:52

I ‘m quite enjoying the glockenspiel . Yesterday he was playing the Mr Benn music behind channel 4 news
