I’m blinded by a million prams/pushchairs/strollers/travel systems and have no idea what to go for.
I’m keen to have something for a newborn that can convert easily, isn’t too much of a pain to put up and down... and aside from that I’m
Blank!
What did you pick, what made you choose it and would you go for it if you had the choice again?

Babyjogger City Mini GT. Not the prettiest but folds so easily, handles amazingly off road, and is super sturdy. Big basket underneath too.

helloyou123 · 24/07/2019 19:52

We got the Egg travel system, loved the design and soo easy to use.

Liverbird77 · 24/07/2019 19:53

Uppababy vista. I am very happy with it...
Lots of space in the basket below, easy to fold, fits in car boot, easy to slot car seat on it if I wish.
Also, we wanted one that could carry two kids because we want a second with a small gap!

trilbydoll · 24/07/2019 19:53

Jané Rider. Really solid, frame looks good as new 6 years on but the seat isn't huge so if you're tall I don't think it would last much past 3yo. I have small kids tho so I loved it, it's still in the garage!

Fivebyfivesq · 24/07/2019 19:54

Yo-yo zen. Folds small enough to go in the overhead locker of a plane. Wheeled it down the aisle of a virgin pendelino train carriage on Monday. Can easily carry it over my shoulder if I need to fold it on the bus. Can fit it and a big dog in the boot of my car at once. Easily attaches our car seat.

Not a SINGLE day I am not grateful I bought it.

user1480880826 · 24/07/2019 19:54

I’ve got a bugaboo bee and I wouldn’t recommend it. The seat is very basic and never looked very comfortable or protective for a baby once they outgrew the bassinet (which is small). The storage underneath isn’t huge and it doesn’t fold down very small.

If I was buying again I would get the Uppababy Vista or Mountain Buggy.

HermioneKipper · 24/07/2019 19:55

Babyzen yo-yo - it’s brilliant. Compact, easy fold and can take it on a plane as hand luggage. Am currently rather upset as I’m pregnant with twins and won’t be able to use it again. Have no idea what pram to get instead and will probs have to start a thread shortly asking for recommendations!

tealandteal · 24/07/2019 19:55

I bought a Joie chrome as it would fit the in the boot of my Mini without taking wheels off. It also meant we only needed one pram from day one.

Pepperstripe · 24/07/2019 19:55

Uppababy vista - it's bloody brilliant, light and so easy to use!

cakesandphotos · 24/07/2019 19:56

Uppababy Vista. Enormous basket, sturdy and the pull out sunshade is great in weather like this. Also like that it can be a double. Only downside is it's wider than most

Redken24 · 24/07/2019 19:56

Had a M&P zoom with first, and it's barely holding up at the minute. It's nearly 3 years old and the chassis is just done! Been looking at a mountain buggy as a replacement.
Have a joie stroller it's crap waste of 90 quid.

Elletine · 24/07/2019 19:56

Bugaboo cameleon 3 and I love it, huge basinet, lovely seat, loads of room underneath. I don't take a backpack/ changing bag out because everything fits. Light and easy to steer, great buggy x

Twinkletoes2719 · 24/07/2019 19:57

I bought the Oyster 2 because I have a tiny boot so was limited in options and it was on sale with a cybex car seat for about 500 pound including sheepskin liners, colour pack etc.

Buyitinbamboo · 24/07/2019 20:00

Silver cross pioneer because I liked the brand and the colour Blush. It's still very pretty and I am looking forward to using it again with the new baby. However if I had to do it all over again I'd save £500 and get an out n about 360. I have a very old one I originally brought for running but ended up using it full time because it was bloody brilliant.

MissingCoffeeandWine · 24/07/2019 20:00

Also in Pram purchasing chaos! Can I ask a question for those with Uppababy Vistas...is it any good in parks/walking off road etc? City based (including public transport) but love long non paved wanders!

NeverGotMyPuppy · 24/07/2019 20:01

Uppababy Vista. Love it.

OP it is so overwhelming with choice but just remember you may have a baby like mine that didnt go in the damn thing for the first 6 months so I ended up carrying him and pushing an empty pram!!

Orangedaisy · 24/07/2019 20:01

Bugaboo cameleon 3. Because a work friend was finished with it and gave it to me. Not perfect but did the job. Don’t knock hand me downs if anyone is offering!

Camomila · 24/07/2019 20:01

Mamas and Papas Armadillo Flip - wanted a proper travel system that could fit in the boot of a Nissan Micra (the nice lady in the shop let us have a go at fitting it in)

Still going strong now DS is 3 and a bit, and we'll be using again it for DC2 in the new year.

MotherWol · 24/07/2019 20:01

Bugaboo Bee; I get public transport a lot and wanted something that could easily go on the tube and bus. It’s narrow and easy to push, I like that the height is adjustable for DH (6’) and me (5’ 2”). It was £200 second hand, DD is still comfy in it at 3.5. I’ve definitely had my money’s worth out of it!

Rarfy · 24/07/2019 20:03

I got the meego milano. I liked the look of it and it was in our price range. Everytime I am out with dd I can guarantee at least one person will comment on what a lovely pram it is.

In hindsight I think the fixings etc are a bit cheap and nasty considering the price when I compare it to my friends bugaboo.

Morticiaismystyleicon · 24/07/2019 20:05

Looking at the replies this probably isn't much help as it is OP, so many people loving and hating the same prams!
Maybe tell us a bit about what you want- are you urban/ rural, lots of driving, public transport, dog walking, shopping, what do you anticipate doing with your baby? If you can give more info we can tell you which prams we did/ didn't like in those circumstances?

AbbyNormal · 24/07/2019 20:05

Maxi Cosi Zelia. It converts from a pram to a pushchair, so no need for a separate pram part. I wanted this because I mainly drive and live in a flat with no storage so I knew I wouldn't use a separate pram part much or have a place to store it. At the time of buying it there was a high chance I was going to have an ELCS, which I ended up having, so I was looking for something light enough to pick up post-caesarean and fold up and down very easily. I love using it Smile

FreeToRun · 24/07/2019 20:07

Depends what you plan to do with it! Bugaboo bee is the best city buggy by far. Super light. Very steerable, nimble and great if you have a small car or boot. Good suspension. Not amazing off road but manages curbs and uneven pavement no problem.
As a single buggy, I think it’s the best.

ForInstance · 24/07/2019 20:07

UppaBaby Vista for exactly the same reasons as @Liverbird77

It’s a faff as we have steps up to our front door, but would still choose the same again. Mine was a pram refuser from 4-6 months but you can get an infant insert which means the can go in the toddler seat as opposed to bassinet safely before 6 months. We got by with that and lots of using the carrier. Now he’s fine in the pram.

Louise2019 · 24/07/2019 20:09

Jane Epic + matrix the main selling point was the lie flat car seat which allows DC to stay in it for as long as necessary (newborns shouldn’t spend too long in a traditional car seat due to it potentially reducing their oxygen levels)
You’d definitely need the isofix base too as attaching it with car seat straps is a pain in the ass! Which issued a safety warning as there is the potential to not properly fix the car seat to the isofix base, but this shouldn’t be an issue if you double check it every time.
